I want to play with the bees. This desire came after a class on basic beekeeping given by the Southwest Beekeeper's Association. After the bees were brought home and started to thrive, I discovered more about these fascinating creatures. Playing with bees and learning about them has turned into a type of passion that gave me the direction in which I wanted to go with my life. This is a good choice for me because of the nature of the hobby, the tasks associated with the job and the personality traits require to take care of the bees. According to the MyPlan assessment, I have a high percentage match with Environmental Scientists and Specialists. While I did not choose this particular degree to pursue in college, this hobby aligns with the …show more content…
This type of personality is a very conducive to raising bees. While I am not a complete introvert, I do enjoy the individual solitude of working with the bees and processing the honey. This type of comparability fits my inherent nature to have some solitude when working on different projects. Working with the bees also requires a certain intuitiveness. Since beekeepers only go into the hives to inspect or to harvest the honey, there has to be awareness about when the bees are thriving or when they are in trouble. Part of this knowledge arises from observation of the hives. The other part of that knowledge results from having a connection with bees. This connection is similar to something that an owner has with a beloved pet. There are both thinker and feeler decisions involved with the hobby. While I tend to lean toward the feeler side of the personality trait, it is not dominant. Some of the thinker decisions include identifying the best location of the hives as well as signs of when the hives need to be split. The feeler decisions about the hive include looking at the hive and seeing if the bees are thriving in the location or by observing the hives for possible problems such as the need for a new …show more content…
The first and foremost is the local honey that they produce. This honey is used to treat allergies, has antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties. Combined with the growing demand for organic and natural products, the demand for local honey is only increasing. The platform for exploring opportunities and finding support is through the Florida Beekeeper's Association as well as the local County Associations such as the Orange County Beekeeping Association located in Orlando. These are the professional organizations available to beekeepers. In addition, the State of Florida provides apiary inspectors who also provide support for beekeepers in every stage of development. These are invaluable resources that I can tap into if I need help or require more expertise. This is support that I already utilize in my hobby and that I can tap into when needed. Since achievement is highly ranked on my work values, the beekeeping business does fit into those needs. The bees do provide instantaneous feedback and can provide a strong feeling of accomplishment especially when the results of this hard work can be

Bees and serial killers have similar behaviors. They collect pollen or commit their crimes close to home but still far enough away that predators do not find the hives or the neighbors do not suspect anything. Scientists developed some algorithms(computer programs for solving a problem) that were based on bees’ behavior. Police use these computer programs to help catch serial killers.
What do you think when you think of bees? I think of honey, pollination, and soon, new life. According to Walt D. Osborne, “Bees are vital for the pollination of more than 90 fruit and vegetable crops worldwide, including almonds, peaches, soybeans, apples, pears, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, watermelons, cantaloupes, cucumbers, and strawberries,” (Osborne 9-11) but each year a large percent of hives have vanished due to many different factors such as stress. Most people would declare that the average honey bee is insufficiently important to the world because bees are pests to home owners everywhere, but bees are extremely important to earths’ survival than any other pollinator in the world; they help pollinate most of the world’s agriculture; yet in the recent years bee populations have plummeted rapidly. I am writing this paper to create awareness that the agricultural society ought to stop or lessen the spraying of pesticides/ insecticides on crops, unnatural diets and overcrowding in the hives.
The organization of each honey bees job is fascinating, for each job is assigned to a bee in accordance to its age.

In the area of decision making I believe myself to be more Thinking than Feeling. An example of the thinking preference can be seen in my role as a consistent, objective disciplinarian. My firm-mindedness in this area has produced children that are a joy to teach as well as to take out in public. Our family receives numerous compliments on how well behaved and delightful our children are. I believe it is my desire for justice and my clarity in rules and expectations that make this achievable for my children.
The best action the public can take to improve honey bee survival is not to use pesticides indiscriminately. In particular, the public should avoid applying pesticides during mid-day hours, when honey bees are most likely to be out foraging for nectar and pollen on flowering plants. In addition, the public can plant pollinator-friendly plants—plants that are good sources of nectar and pollen such as red clover, foxglove, bee balm, joe-pye weed, and other native plants.
By pollinating flowers, the honey bee produces honey, a vital product that we humans use every day as a form of food, medicine, and beauty products. Honey is highly nutritious; it has several vitamins and minerals including antioxidants that delay ageing (Kumar). In the U.S. a...
All around the world honeybees are vanishing at an alarming rate, according to the documentary Vanishing of the Honeybees. This film features two commercial bee keepers and their fight to preserve their bee numbers. David Hackenburg was the first commercial bee keeper to go public the bee population was decreasing. Approximately two billions bees have vanished and nobody knows the reason why. Honeybees are used all across America to help pollinate monoculture crops like broccoli, watermelon, cherries, and other produce. Without the honeybees the price for fresh and local produce would be too much money. According, to this film commercial bee keeper’s help fifteen billion dollars of food get pollinated by commercial

The first step in bee conservation would be to accurately determine the cause of death of bees in the United Kingdom. This would use about 30million pounds to set up research labs across the country. Stricter guidelines for bee keepers would be developed so that dead bees can be analysed by resear...
This can encompass a large range of consumers. Local Farm decided to introduce Local Raw Honey to its existing brand community because they already had a large bee population that assisted in pollinating crops. This new adventure is intended to reach a slightly younger and broader market, in hopes to bring in more revenue for Local Farm and increase sales for all of its products.
I’ve been introverted all my life and if I could change any characteristic and result of the personality test, it would be this one. Introverts tend to think first and act second which I believe is a positive characteristic that applies to me. I’m not a “spur of the moment” type of person in the least therefore I like to think of pros/cons and negative/positive consequences of a decision or action. I also value my alone time and prefer to spend most of my time either alone, with my husband, or with a small group of people.
