Many people question how it is that I am sixteen years old and attending Florida State College at Jacksonville. Prior to entering high school, I enrolled into the Early College Program Which allows me to graduate high school with receiving a high school diploma and an associate degree; by taking two years of high school classes and then the last two years taking college classes. Joining the early college program is only part of the significant story of my life. Over the next couple minutes, I will explain the journey that I have encountered over the past sixteen years of my life and the journey that is expected come. First, let’s talk about my early life. Towards the late 2006, at the age of six, I finally left my hometown of Jacksonville and ended up traveled the world. Being a military brat, my family moved approximately five times: Georgia, Italy, …show more content…
Tennessee, Washington, and Florida. Having to move so many times, I was able to see magnificent things, such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Colosseum. Although it was great privilege to be able to see ancient structures, it is a blessing to be back in my hometown of Jacksonville.

For my junior year of playing soccer, I was voted to be one of the captions, and with that came big responsible that has shaped me into the person I am today. Although playing sports is something I love, I never let sports get in the way of my academics because I am a student athlete, so grades come first. goals. With being in college at a young age, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to major in because I didn’t think that it was important to know what I wanted to major in when I was in high school. It was until one day, I was volunteering at Memorial Hospital and this little girl came in that had found out she had Leukemia cancer. Seeing the young girl in fear that she wouldn’t live for long made me want to try to help her, but I knew I couldn’t unless I was a nurse or doctor. That little girl’s name was Elizabeth Moore. After meeting Elizabeth, I realized that I wanted to major in nursing and get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. After discussing my early life, the last three years of high school for me, and my future goals, you have learned everything that you could possibly know about me. You’ve learned about how I am from Jacksonville, Florida and after moving so many times, sixteen years later, I happen to end right back in Jacksonville. From taking all four years of high school here, I also hope to go to the University of North Florida, to further my education.

After twelve years of school, where will you go next? Many of you have developed the ambition to prolong your education and attend college. Today, there are many more options than there were in the past. One does not have to graduate high school and go straight to a four year university. It is sometimes better for a student to go to a community college and focus on transfer courses or simply get an Associate’s Degree. On the other hand, there are young adults that prefer to leap straight into a university and focus on the specific program for their Bachelor’s Degree.
My heart was set on Samford University. I wanted to go there so bad that I was willing to be red shirted and sit on the bench probably until my junior year. I really thought God wanted me to go there. It made since for me to go to Samford. My big brother was there, my dream of playing division one soccer in college would have come true. My comfort, fimilarness, and family were all at Samford.

“A good education is a foundation for a better future.” ~ Elizabeth Warren. The reasoning behind why I want to go to college is to better my future. I am considered one of the first generation in my family to go to college, putting a lot of meaning behind why I believe I should go on to a different path. From a very young age I have always held high expectations of myself, even of the numerous changes in careers I had obtained an interest in. I have always envisioned myself going to college because I certainly value education. I believe that the more education I receive, the more valuable I am to this generation of the work force. Not only does my passion of learning hold place in the reasoning behind why I want to go to college, but because of my role models growing up. My parents both encourage me on a daily basis to go to college, and have encouraged my initiative to seek more in life. My father once explained that he once had this opportunity to receive a free ride to college but decided to stay home and start a family. He of course never looked back or regretted his decision because if not I wouldn 't be here today, but he encouraged me to take on these amazing offers and

Early childhood I was involved in playing two sports which were basketball and football until the time came that I had to choose one. My initial decision was basketball until I was influenced to switch sports by my closest friends just when I thought I was committed in playing basketball. My parents were not very keen on me playing sports, but had tons of support from my friends and siblings. The high school I attended which was Alief Taylor high school had a very strong recruiting system which was because of the coaches we had and talented athletes. Teachers and coaches played a huge role on my future while I was in high school and it was up to me determine how my future was going to be. I was not a varsity football player until my senior year and were many time when I felt like I was going to quit, but my friends and coaches recognized that I had talent and continued to

When I was in 9th grade i was soccer class, but in 8th i had wondered if i should even choose it. But then i realized that if i ever wanted to experience what it felt like to train like a real athlete I would regret it for the rest of my life. So i filled out all the applications and went to the doctor to get my physical and joined soccer. Although I had joined the class, it was not Season yet. so tryouts were not done yet but i was determined to win to become the best in the class.
College is a very important thing. If you go to college you will most likely get better pay in your career. Also, with a college degree, you have more opportunities. I believe that everyone should go to college. If you don’t go to college and just go into some job and that fails then you have no backup plan. A college graduate is more likely to be offered employment than another who didn’t attend college, if you have a college degree you will make more money in your lifetime than someone who doesn’t have a degree, if you are considering having children having a college degree is very beneficial to them, you have a higher chance of having better health yourself, college is very beneficial, and if you go to college you will have a better social
You have to think of what you will want to do with your life after sports. For most people that would be getting a job. Playing a sport didn’t influence me on my career goals but it has taught me many things about working hard to achieve your dreams. Just like when you work hard at practice to get playing time in a game you must work hard in college to get a job in the career field you choose. When playing a sport you make a commitment that you will show up to practices on time everyday. This will help with discipline in the future once I get a job because I know that I will have to be on time and show up for work
There are four types of degrees you can obtain, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate. An Associate’s degree requires two of schooling. This is just a general college education, no specifying major is being received. “While an associate's degree can get you off to a good start, many of today's employment opportunities require a minimum of a bachelor's degree. This higher-level degree also can pay off more in terms of salary” (Bachelor's Degree vs. Associate's Degree). “A bachelor’s degree is a four-year degree, meaning it typically takes four years of full-time study to complete your bachelor’s degree” (What is a Bachelor's Degree?). This is the first step into majoring or having a minor in a certain job field. Some just only require only a bachelor’s degree, or less. More difficult jobs require more schooling as in receiving a master's or doctorate degree. A superintendent has to have the minimum requirement of master's degree when it comes to education. “A Master is an advanced degree conferred by universities around the world for completion of graduate study in a specific discipline. Master's degree programs typically take one to two years to complete and further prepare graduates for a career in their chosen field” (Search Best Masters Degrees 2017 - 5 400 Masters Programs available). A master’s degree is more in depth studies than what you would have previously learned when achieving an associate’s and bachelor’s degree. Now there is a higher education degree which is a doctorate’s degree. This degree requires four more years after receiving a bachelor’s degree. “A doctorate degree is the highest level of academic degree. You can earn a doctorate in almost any subject area” (What is a Doctorate Degree?). There are many types of degrees you can obtain, but one thing to think of is what kind
Throughout my life I have always played sports, even when it was not at club level I participated at sports camps and sports
At a very young age we were taught to play 4 different sports including swimming, which might have been a reason for me to be so athletic. Most of those sports did not offer what this one had to, which was teamwork and the life long friends. As I mentioned that I was shy, so most of my friends were my team members with whom I have made the best memories of my life. More than that we were proud of representing our school at championships and tournaments. As the GD my job was to keep an eye at the ball and where it is being passed so I will be able to defend the goal when required. Passing the ball is what intrigued me the most as even if you blink for a second the ball would be passed to another person. Those were the moments that I looked up to the future and the reason for me playing that sport for 6
