Why do you want to become a trustee?
My parents believed strongly in public service, and they encouraged my siblings and me to participate fully in our community. Over the years I have devoted time and effort to the Town by volunteering in the local schools, the Boy Scouts, and participation in Town Government. Public service benefits the individual as well as the public, and I hope to continue that service as a member of the Acton Memorial Library Board of Trustees.
In the early phase of the library renovation, I fondly remember taking our youngest son to put our names the concrete columns of the old building before new construction began. There was such excitement and anticipation for the new facility, with neighbors exchanging hopes about how nice the new library would

Project management principles that I would bring to the board include ensuring that all stakeholders are appropriately engaged, and organizing strategic objectives into manageable tasks.
My career at Hewlett Packard provides me with the opportunity to travel all around the world and experience diverse cultures. I believe that part of the mission of the Acton Memorial Library is to serve and unite the many cultures that compose our Acton community. I hope to play a role in enhancing the library’s offerings to our community through programs, outreach, and education.
Previously, I served on the Zoning Board of Appeals, including a term as Chairman. This experience was very satisfying, as it allowed me to connect with fellow citizens while ensuring the bylaws of the Town were upheld. My work with the ZBA involved extensive engagement with other Town boards and officials, providing valuable insight into the administration of the Town as a whole. In my time with the ZBA, I also became well acquainted with the Massachusetts Open Meeting
With the Pantheon being built over 1700 years ago, it’s amazing that architects are still using features and techniques from this work of architecture in modern creations. The use of this type of classical architecture will continue to be used in works for public space due to its remarkable exterior appearance and it’s long lasting structural durability. When both Jesse hall and the Pantheon are compared it is possible to see their similarities from the types of domes that top each, their external facades, and their interior plan. While they share many similarities, the differences that Bell and Binder used in their creation make this work of architecture unique to many other public spaces.
The award winning Jerwood Library, built in 1999, sits in an idyllic setting overhanging the River Cam and manages to look both modern and ancient at the same time. Traditional materials and methods have been used by Freeland Rees Roberts, to create a lovely building that rests perfectly in scale with its neighbours. The fragmented forms created with red brick and glass give it a gentle contemporary appearance. Students can often be seen sitting and reading on a large ledge pressed against the glass, picturesque river one side, 30,000 books the other – it can’t get any better!

The films Frequency and Déjà vu, each require characters to travel through time to solve a mystery. Frequency was released by New Line Cinema, directed by Gregory Hoblit, is set in Brooklyn, New York in the 20th and 21th century in the future. Déjà vu was produced by a company called Touchstone Pictures, it was directed by Tony Scott, and released November 22, 2006. Even though the movies were six years apart they had different and similar qualities. The movie Frequency is about a father and son and the movie Déjà vu is about an agent trying to save his city. Although Déjà vu has remarkable special effects and a star-studded cast, it does not measure up to Frequency which leaves us with a clear understanding that people cannot change their past, but people can change the present.
There are many reasons why I want to join the peer advising team here at San Diego State. I have a passion for helping other people in any sense of the word. If I can give someone some type of information or help that they are seeking than I feel as if I have a purpose and I am accomplished in doing my duty as a human being. My freshman year I was very confused as to what major i wanted to be in and Psychology interested me, so I attended the peer advising office seeking help. The girl that met with me was very friendly and was knowledgeable about the major at SDSU and laid it all out for me. I then later that day declared a psychology major. There are many student like myself who have no idea what they want to major in and don
Libraries have been around for centuries, serving as places of wonder for children and as quiet sanctuaries for adults. The age of technology, however, has been quite detrimental for these places; shelves of books have been replaced by screens, and librarians have been replaced by search engines. There are some who wholeheartedly wish to preserve libraries, and the author of this article is one. Zadie Smith argues for the conservation of libraries and, throughout the writing, utilizes many literary devices to support and strengthen her claims.

JFK Library As its name suggests, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is a presidential library that is dedicated to the memory of thirty fifth president of the United States of America, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The structure which was designed by architect I. M. Pei is located in Boston, Massachusetts, in the Dorchester neighborhood on Columbia point. The structure which stands on a 10 acre park overlooking the sea is set in the form of striking geometric shapes of glass and concrete steel combined to create an appropriate stately monument. This essay offers a descriptive analysis of the exterior and interior lobby space of the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum.
In the globalized economy, Successful project managers are in much demand across many industries. Organizations strongly need experienced project managers to lead their staff to accomplish their business goals and deliver successful projects. In an increasingly complex environment, project managers need to turn into many roles and have all kinds of responsibilities at each level of management within an organization. Good project managers are not born. They need to be trained. They develop their skills through study, practise and experience. They become better project managers after they finish a successful project each time. They learn new techniques and apply them on their projects. They learn their lessons from failed projects and then improve to be better project managers in the future.
Over the course of my professional life, I have become increasingly involved in project management roles. Doing so has made me aware of the many varied challenges that can face projects and the project managers who are charged with bringing them through to completion. The success or failure of projects, in whatever economic, political or social field, rests not just on the quality of the project’s goals, but also on the abilities of those involved in the project – and above all those who are managing it – to bring it to successful completion. To do this, project managers need to be equipped with a very wide range of skills, many of which are unrelated to the type of project itself. So, for example, a project manager of an engineering project must not only have engineering
The flood of material that resulted forced the construction of a new building that opened in 1897.A new age for the library was guided by the opening of the Jefferson building and The Main Reading room. Special format collections were separated from the book collections and the readers could access them in different locations of the library. Some of these format collections were maps, prints, music, and manuscripts. The continued growth of the library’s collection required two new buildings at the location of the library, Capitol Hill.
When planning a new project, how the project will be managed is one of the most important factors. The importance of a managers will determine the success of the project. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed. Project management is referred to as the discipline that entails the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization resources so as to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals and meet the specific criteria of success required in the organization (Larson, 2014). Over the course of this paper I will be discussing and analyzing the importance of project management.
Project management involves all activities that encompass scheduling, planning, and controlling projects. A successful project manager ensure that an organization’s resources are being used both efficiently and effectively. Most projects need to be uniquely developed require a sense of customization and the ability to adapt to any posed challenges. The scope of effective project management includes defining what the project is and what is being expected to be accomplished. Projects are imposed to fulfill a certain need and project managers must have the ability to create the proper definition. Goals and the means used to attain those goals have to be clearly stated. Project Managers must also have the ability to plan
