The career I plan on pursuing in life is becoming a certified medical assistant. Medical assisting is one of the fastest growing careers in healthcare. To become a certified medical assistant you will have to achieve a certification through the certifying board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). While you can work as a medical assistant without being certified, employers are often looking for someone skilled and qualified.
Many people rush through their daily life without contemplating their actions, thereby missing vast opportunities for achievement. They waste valuable time engaging in frivolous matters instead of putting their energies towards more productive and meaningful purposes. In the words of the Dalai Lama: “Life is not about acquiring money and other facilities; it is about dedicating your life to helping others as much as you can.” The immeasurable value of helping others has been engrained in me since childhood. As a result of my own difficult family circumstances, I have become more sensitive, kind and mindful towards others and their own situations. I have developed a passion for helping others, which, in combination with a proclivity towards medicine has lead to my descion to become a Physician Assistant. I want to live a life where I can provide healthcare and aid to anyone who needs.
“It always seems impossible until it’s done”. This quote from Nelson Mandela comes to mind when describing why I aspire to become a Physician Assistant. It has always been a great motivation and inspired me not to get discouraged with failure; rather look forward for your goals. Frequently, it takes many trials and lack of success as well as achievements, for one to truthfully discover him/herself. I instinctively progressed through the motions of life. Many options were available and choosing a career as I grew up kept altering, until one day when I saw how helping other people is my sole purpose of life. Getting to know more of physician assistant drove me into the thoughts of pursuing it as a career.
When I was born, my family had just migrated to California from Mexico. In a new country, my father worked in landscaping earning less than $4 dollars an hour, while my mother relied on public transportation to take her newborn child to and from doctor visits. In the land of opportunity, my family struggled to put a roof over our heads. But never discouraged, my parents sought to achieve their goals and worked tirelessly to raise my younger brother and I. From a young age, I was taught the importance of education; this became a major catalyst in my life. My desire to excel academically was not for self-gain, but my way of contributing to my family’s goals and aspirations.
Both my current job and are dream jobs are in the medical field they are very similar yet different. For example, my job now is a certified nursing assistant and my dream job is to become a registered nurse. Both jobs consist of taking guardianship of people providing hands-on work, comfort care, and compassion. My dream is to further my career from a nurse assistant and become a nurse that does more for people in the world.
My decision to pursue a career as an Anesthesiology Assistant is hinged on three factors; first, a desire to advance in the healthcare sector and be able to take up higher responsibilities in patient care; secondly, an intentional process of building a healthcare career that would be personally fulfilling and rewarding; and thirdly, embarking on a career path that will enable me to integrate my prior education, experiences and skills, and use them as a backdrop for effective care delivery. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology. I undertook studies in this area because I had always had a deep-seated desire to help people recover from adverse situations. At the same time, I trained and work as a medical assistant, which has enabled me to have a lot of patient contact. Based on my knowledge of psychology and my clinical experiences, I began to explore career advancement options

Becoming a physician assistant requires many years of hard work, responsibilities, and schooling. A physician assistant provides healthcare under supervision of a physician, anywhere from prescribing medication, to completing physicals, to counseling patients. Physician assistants are becoming a high demand position. Physician assistants have one of the highest rises in employment in the medical field. Becoming a physician assistant is a great alternative to becoming a doctor. Physician assistants have very similar responsibilities to doctors but with less schooling, less student loans, and typically the sponsoring doctor/facility will cover the malpractice insurance.
The topic of this paper is Physician Assistants, and what it would take to become one. I will be giving an overview of what a PA does, there educational requirements. What credentials or certifications that are required. The personality traits and skills required to be a PA, a goal summary for my career, how Kaplan University is helping me to achieve my goals, and where I will be in 5 years.
My career goals is to start my career as a Medical Assistant working in a medical office. I would like to learn every aspect of the job before specializing in one area. My second career goal is to work in a hospital setting where I can get experience working with patients in that type of setting. After I have gained some experience in the medical arena I plan to continue working with cardiac patients.
A physician assistant, commonly known as a PA, is a usually semi-autonomous medical professional who works with a healthcare team as a primary provider. Physician assistants are one of three recognized primary providers with the other two being nurse practitioners and physicians. They can diagnose, prescribe, and treat patients. Even while physician assistants are considered vital and trusted healthcare providers, their required education and training is significantly less than a doctors. In my personal pursuit of a job in healthcare, I chose physician assistant as an end objective because it fits perfectly into the apparent puzzle of life.
“As their practices expand, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients.” In fact, when you reach the age of eighteen you are eligible to persuade a job/career in Medical assistants. The career of a medical assistant involves special skills, specific training/eduction, and provides unique benefits for anyone interested in this field.
For this report I have chosen a Medical Assistant. I chose this career because my mom is a medical assistant and she seemed to be very happy with her job. I also like helping people and making them feel better. The things that appeal to me are that you get to meet new people and help them in anyway you can. The fact that people depend on you to help them makes me nervous but it would be a great payoff in the end. Medical Assistants are vital to any Doctor and their practice, some would even say they are the backbone to any successful practice.
It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I chose nursing because it is a profession where you never really finish learning. It has been my dream job since my tender age. Seeing nurses visiting my school treating students, immunisation, teaching us about health and sexual health issues, this encouraged me. My goal and desire at that age have been to help people within the Health sector. That is how; I decided to go to college where I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science), which involves Biology and Chemistry. I chose this pathway because I want to gain the relevant skills and knowledge of my career to be. As someone who wants to become a nurse, I found biology as an important role in the delivery of client car...
When I think of becoming a teacher I would like to imagine or hope that I would be “turning the key” for a student of mine to become something great. I have been soul searching for many years now to have a better understanding of what I am suppose to do in my life. I have worked in so many jobs in so many areas but nothing was fulfilling my life with any amount of meaning. I found myself not wanting to go back the next day or wishing I were somewhere else. Well I guess everyone does that is what I would tell myself.
