This paper will show the reason why I have chosen to become a social worker in the area of aged care practice. Experience never gets old (The intern, 2015). This quote relates to me. This is because my parents or someone who are older than me, have been through their lives. So they sometimes give us as an life advise, however, we hear that as nit picking as we are young and then we get to understand while we are going through our lives. They were right.

I came to Australia without dreams. I just wanted to get experience while I was young. Thinking about no pain no gain. The beginning was really tough. I could not speak English, did not have any friends, any money, knowing nothing about Australia. Could not get a job. This is because of my language limits. I could not find any place to stay. But those of experience was my stepping stone to get to this point. Somehow I met wonderful Australian family. They helped me to put my right step on the ground in Australia. I used to study mechanical engineering at university in Korea. But now I am studying social work to help people. The biggest reason is that I used to live with old Australian guy for a long time. Somehow the completely stranger became my everything, as a friend, English teacher, mentor and Australian father to me. The way he taught me, made me to get interested in elderly people. Also, I just wanted to repay to him not by money, by what I do in Australia. Showing that you made this person.
