Leading You to a Healthy Lifestyle: Nurse Practitioners. I have imagined myself in several different careers that have interested me as I've grown up, from styling hair to being a fashion designer, and even a professional singer. Now, even though it is crazy to believe time has flown by so fast, I am at the age where I am deciding what I want to major in. Even though all of those professions I listed above were very interesting, there was one job when I was growing up that I knew would be a stable and interesting profession: a nurse practitioner. I have always been interested in health sciences and seeing as though I was familiar with a doctor’s office/hospital setting due to being born with a birth defect, I felt that nurse practitioner was the most suitable job for me.
When I get older I want to be a CNA. CNA stands for Certified Nursing Assistants. I love old people. Hands on healthcare to patients in medical settings are included in this job. If you keep reading you will find out what they do and duties and responsibilities. Education and training requirements salary, employment outlook, opportunities for advancement pros and cons interest in this occupation and other interesting information.
I will contribute to the mission of the Nurse Corps Scholarship program by continuing to provide care to individuals in underserved communities. Medically underserved communities involve racial minorities, offenders and ex-offenders, crime or abuse victims, LGBTQ citizens, people with AIDS, and those that are economically disadvantaged. I was born in the small town of Monroeville, AL. It is a great town but it does not have the best resources when it comes to health care. Most members of this town, including my family, would bypass the hospital there and go to the one in the next town simply because they feel
A Certified Nursing Assistant has a very demanding job. It drains a person's physical strength by lifting residents but, it can drain the worker of emotions as well because of the loss, pain, and abandonment surrounding many residents. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and I believe the hardest part of my job is getting attached to a resident as they pass away. The death of a resident leaves preparing their body the Certified Nursing Assistant's responsibility so their families can say goodbye and the funeral director can take them to the funeral home. The whole process takes a minuscule amount of time, thirty minutes or less, once someone knows the process. However, the body needs respect and care even after death.Preparing a body is emotional for the worker and the family. Start by gathering the supplies to prepare the body. First,
“Behind every great nurse there is a running CNA.” This statement is true, however only in the long-term care setting of nursing homes. Certified Nursing Assistants/Aides can be found in different settings, as well. Such as, hospice environments, and the homes of those seeking home healthcare. In each environment, CNA’s are important to the patients receiving their care.
Through my hands on experiences as a New York State certified nurse’s aide, I frequently care for a diverse population of individuals, as well as observe and assist other health care professionals at the facilities I am employed at. I have been
“A test of a people is how it behaves toward the old. It is easy to love children. But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless, are the true gold mines of a culture.” –Abraham Joshua Heschel. I decided to do my senior project on becoming a certified nursing assistant because I believe CNA’s go beyond their limits for their patients. This is in honor of all CNA’s who work hard to care for the sick and elderly.
[A]lthough the days are busy and the workload is always growing, there are still those special moments when someone says or does something and you know you’ve made a difference in someone’s life. That’s why I became a nurse.” —Diane McKenty
Both my current job and are dream jobs are in the medical field they are very similar yet different. For example, my job now is a certified nursing assistant and my dream job is to become a registered nurse. Both jobs consist of taking guardianship of people providing hands-on work, comfort care, and compassion. My dream is to further my career from a nurse assistant and become a nurse that does more for people in the world.
My decision to pursue a career as an Anesthesiology Assistant is hinged on three factors; first, a desire to advance in the healthcare sector and be able to take up higher responsibilities in patient care; secondly, an intentional process of building a healthcare career that would be personally fulfilling and rewarding; and thirdly, embarking on a career path that will enable me to integrate my prior education, experiences and skills, and use them as a backdrop for effective care delivery. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology. I undertook studies in this area because I had always had a deep-seated desire to help people recover from adverse situations. At the same time, I trained and work as a medical assistant, which has enabled me to have a lot of patient contact. Based on my knowledge of psychology and my clinical experiences, I began to explore career advancement options

It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I chose nursing because it is a profession where you never really finish learning. It has been my dream job since my tender age. Seeing nurses visiting my school treating students, immunisation, teaching us about health and sexual health issues, this encouraged me. My goal and desire at that age have been to help people within the Health sector. That is how; I decided to go to college where I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science), which involves Biology and Chemistry. I chose this pathway because I want to gain the relevant skills and knowledge of my career to be. As someone who wants to become a nurse, I found biology as an important role in the delivery of client car...

Human resources (HR) is the department of a business or organization that deals with the payroll, benefits, hiring, firing, and keeping up to date with state and federal tax laws, administration, and training of personnel. It is a critical component of employee well-being in any business, no matter how small. Before anyone gets a job, they have to go through the human resources department. The first step towards the job is to set up an interview. But, what really happens behind the scenes when we apply for a job? “Many employers start filling vacancies below the executive level by using a team of recruiters or human-resources personnel to weed out applications that fail to meet a job's basic qualifications” (Needleman, 2010). After applicants are selected to go on to the next steps, it varies because there are some patterns. For example, some application reviewers critique every single application that comes in their office, while others do not. Some consider the applicant based on cover letters in their evaluations and those who ignore them.
