Imagine being put together as a band with total strangers and blowing up social media and having millions of fans all around the world and saving thousands of teenage girls’ lives by just being there and making music. That band I love was formed about four years ago on July 23, 2010 they are a British-Irish boy band known as One Direction. There are five members of the group, Harry Styles (from Cheshire, England) Niall Horan (from Westmeath, Ireland), Liam Payne (from Wolverhampton, England), Louis Tomlinson (from Doncaster, England), Zayn Malik (from Bradford, England). The members of one direction individually auditioned for the British show, ‘The X-Factor’. When Harry auditioned, he sang ‘isn’t she lovely’ by Stevie Wonder, Niall sang ‘so sick’ by Ne-Yo, Louis sang ‘hey there Delilah’, Liam sang, “cry me a river’ by Julie London, and Zayn sang, ‘let me love you’ by Mario. They all made it through but after a few weeks of the x factor boot camp, The Judges, Simon Cowell, Nichole Scherzinger, and Louis Walsh had to give the boys bad news and tell them they would not make it as solo ...
By going to as many concerts as they can, fans help the band sell more and you help themselves look and feel like a bigger fan. I personally went to all of their bay area concerts and had to drive down to Pasadena, CA for one when they didn 't have a show here. This made me feel and seem very devoted to the band . Socializing is another big thing in the community of directioners, it helps you meet more people in the same community and creates friendships. For example, just last week I visited a friend in Stanford University who I met through One Direction and I 've made many other online friends that i have more in common with than people around me. Many fans devote their time to fan accounts that they have created to be able to connect with fans and talk about their problems and also talk about the bands
West London-based Mumford & Sons is a folk/indie-rock band that favours atypical instrumentation, conjures up a unique sound, and appeals to a wide range of listeners. Emerging from what some in the media have labeled as the “West London Folk scene”, Mumford and Sons features four 20-something multi-instrumentalists and close friends: Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall, and Ted Dwayne. The English foursome joined forces in December 2007, bonded over a mutual appreciation of folk, rock, country, and bluegrass, and adopted the stage name of Mumford & Sons to give the band a familial connotation. Four years and several live performances later, Mumford & Sons achieved widespread, multi-platinum success with their unique brand of music. Following their performance at the Grammy Awards in February 2011 (alongside Bob Dylan, nonetheless), the band found itself topping music charts, having sold millions of copies of their debut album, Sigh No More, worldwide.
American Beauty/American Psycho was an album that was sung by the band Fall Out Boy in 2015. Fall Out Boy is an alternative/indie rock band with a little hint of pop in some of their songs. This album, which is the band’s most recent album, is full of a lot of good songs and songs that maybe some people wouldn’t like. Fall Out Boy is a face-paced band, which means their songs are faced-paced. A lot of their songs could be a little hard to understand for people who don’t listen to this kind of music. The album does not have many of these types of songs, which is why it is a favorite among Fall Out Boy fans.
Second of all, the band deserves this award because they have influenced a large number of young singers and fans with their music. In 1977, they were so famous that a bunch ...
The gay rights movement has been a shadow throughout history, recently coming to light in a growing fight for equality. Gay pride rallies frequent the news, and a recent Supreme Court decision allowing same-sex marriage has shaken the roots of what many consider tradition in America. Only a determined community, one tired of being denied basic rights, could make this stunning change. However, such an achievement was years in the making, lead with chart-topping songs, documentaries, interviews, and best-selling books to broaden horizons. One of the most influential songs was a rap written and performed by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis which includes a chorus sung by Mary Lambert. Macklemore’s accurate incorporation of the struggle for gay rights with powerful lyrics and a moving music
At the age of ten, my parents decided that I should learn how to play an instrument. In addition, they also chose which instrument I should learn, the guitar. I had no interest in learning the guitar, because all I wanted to spend my leisure time on was improvising my soccer skills. However, my parents believed soccer was a waste of my precious time, time which I should be using to focus on school and expanding my brain by taking on a difficult task, such as learning to play music. This was contrary to what I believed, but I had to do it or else my parents would be displeased. Therefore, the following week, I began taking guitar lessons.
Music is the third most important thing to me in life outside of god and my mom. Music keeps me balanced. Every since I was a baby music was played around me. Jazz was always played around me to soothe me. There would be times when I would be really hyper acting like I couldn't sleep, my mom would put on some jazz and I would be fine. A lot of times I can have a long chore and I say to my self how can I accomplish this, Knowing it will take me forever. So I'll put on some jazz music and in twenty-five minutes I'm finished.

One of the most influential groups of the 20th Century—the Beatles revolutionized rock and roll into what we know it as today. Not only were they great musicians, they wrote and composed each of their songs. The band proved to be popular and exciting causing mass hysteria at each of their public performances. The “Fab Four’s” talent was so great that the phenomenon was termed “Beatlemania” in Britain and eventually erupted in the United States being called the British Invasion of the Beatles (Britannica Online, 2005).
One of the concerts that I have attended was One Direction’s. One direction was formed by a group of boys from London in 2010. These young men were also known as Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The band started off from a British talent show on television called the X Factor. During the audition, the boys were eliminated as individuals, but Simon Cowell saw great potential in these young men as a group. He decided to make it happen by giving them another chance to perform together, and indeed they became famous ever since the formation of the English-Irish boy band One Direction.
Anybody that knows me knows that my passion and goals in life have to deal with fashion. If I could be anything in this world I would love to be a designer of some sort or at least be in the industry. When it comes to clothing and style it just comes easy one of the easiest things I’m good at. Fashion is an art form it allows you to express your view on style anyway you choose. And to me I feel like nobody has the right to judge that. Style hasn’t always come easy to be though just like everything else it takes time and practice it’s still a work in progress. When I look back to my middle school and early high school years I wonder deeply about my choices, middle school had to have been the worst. I was going through a colored jeans faze, I would wear bright yellow, honey mustard yellow, sky blue, purple, and pink. If somebody were to name a color I probably had jeans that color. It gets worse though because I would have the worst possible combination choice of shoes to go along with a matching bead necklace and bracelet set, followed by a grey or navy blue uniform shirt. It’s clear I had no idea what I was doing the best part is I was being myself and that’s all that matters. No matter how much I think my style has grown I’m only human and will look back and probably wonder why I wore the outfit I’m wearing sitting here writing this essay.
Driving home after a long, difficult day, I turned on some music, searching for relief. The CD in the player consisted of all my favorite songs: “Pee Wee Long Way( Chasing)’,” “Lil Boosie (Long Journey),”Lil snupe “(Nobody),” and many others. My number one favorite song, “(Chasing),” was the first to play. Singing along to the lyrics, my mood was immediately better. This song reminded me of what was important in my life, my dreams and money. I then realized what these songs had in common; they all reflected my feelings on life: don’t give up on your dreams and don’t worry about every little thing life throws at you, keep chasing your dream until you reach the top.
After the show had ended, I felt slightly empty. I had waited years and months for that night, and it was over in the blink of an eye. Although I was sad that the show was over, I felt completely content. Now, when I hear their songs, I get to remember what it felt like to hear the band perform them live. I can watch the videos and try to wrap my mind around how it was real. Going to my first concert was an unparalleled experience that I will always cherish. The ambiance, the band’s performance and the unity the audience
