Law and Justice Academy
The reasons why I want to go to the Law and justice academy is for several reasons.
The way I think of it is, is when practically your whole family had been in the line of justice one way or another, you might as well pick up from where they started. Great grandfather served in world war 1. Grandfather decided to take his dad's actions and joined the marines during world war 2, my uncle johnny was also in the marines. My Uncle Tom was chief of police in gloucester county, my other uncle was working for my uncle as a police officer. My dad was in training to become a navy seal but got caught in the car for possession of alcohol all of my 16 year old cousin is in the police academy as I am typing this. That's only one

Hopefully I will be able to call myself a cop one day. After that day was over and I took the papers home to my parents all they wanted to do was show everyone on my family that i was going to become a cop. Just thinking of it as i'm typing this is giving me the chills. I also think that this will benefit me in several ways. One of the ways is that my family would be proud to hear that I am a cop. The second way would be that I would also already have lots of experience. The Third Way would be Most of my friends are also joining this Academy so I will not be so nervous joining this Academy. these are just some of the ways the this Academy will benefit me. end me joining the academy and other benefit other people. one of the ways that this can benefit other people would be that the teachers and staff don't have to work so hard just because I already have a lot of experience. One of the other ways is that maybe if people maybe if the other students all how light was maybe they would allow me to help them. And this is why I should get into this
I asked Mr. Cayette to tell me what he feel are the positive factors related to being a criminal justice person. He said, “The positives about being in the criminal justice system is that there is a thin line between order and chaos. As of the last few years, criminal justice professionals have been under a lot of scrutiny. The majority of guys that are "called to do the job" have been profiled by the few guys that feel they can do the job by being a law enforcement officer. A cop provides a feeling of security to most people. When most people see a law enforcement officer, they feel safe no matter what the situation may be. Even with the negative publicity the police has been receiving, some cops are still seen as the good guys and keep order in the community. Being a police officer is still at the...
FBLA has been such a defining point in my high school career and vital part in who I am today and even who I will be in the future. Becoming an officer would allow me to see to that other students that are new to FBLA also experience the same things as I have so that they could not only grow within FBLA but also in life. I hope to, as part of becoming a potential officer, that I can encourage others in FBLA as was done to me by older peers. Hopefully with this, we can have a large increase in membership and activity to improve our chapter.
Attending the University of Houston Law Center would afford me the opportunity to gain an education I know only they could offer. The University of Houston is a first-tier institution that constantly produces superior talent that continuously excels in all fields of law. Earning my degree of jurisprudence would be the crowning achievement in my life, but knowing that I couldn’t be able to use it effectively would be as equally disappointing. Coming full circle, I’d use my degree to make a difference for those privileged and those who aren’t alike. The realm of law is where I feel I belong and I’m eager to prove myself.
Achieving academic excellence while obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice is the first step towards becoming financially able to support my son by working as a law enforcement analyst. While working on my degree, I am determined to maintain my 4.0 GPA, a challenge that demonstrates my ability to learn and overcome obstacles, as well as. This commitment to maintaining my GPA requires me to work on having a positive attitude, as well as learn about discipline, self-management, and hard work, all which are beneficial to me in my field of work. I chose criminal justice because it requires thinking about and analyzing facts to solve crimes while helping and protecting people, something I have always felt strongly about. Since I was
In discussions of law enforcement one controversial issue has been whether liberal arts courses are necessary or should be required. In “The New Liberal Arts” Sanford J. Ungar believes that liberal arts are crucial to any professional career. Mike Rose however disagrees, and suggests that a college education in general is not necessarily a must. Although both articles make a good argument, I concur with Ungar. The liberal arts are the foundation in almost any professional field, and teach students how to adapt, especially in law enforcement.
Police cadets entering the police academy during the implementation of community-oriented policing (COP) model are trained from a different prospective as compared to officers entering the academy prior to
My interest in law enforcement grew in me at a young age probably around the age of 8. I would always watch the show Cops and that got me really interested. It was not until the age of 10 that I said to myself that I wanted to be a police officer or something in that field. During my years in junior high one of the officers who worked there told me about a program called police explorers, once he explained the program to me I knew that that was what I wanted to do: police work. A week after I turned fourteen I decided to join the Costa Mesa Police explorer program, in order to get I accepted to the program I had to attend four consecutive meetings and on my fourth meeting I was given an application the following week I was interviewed by four police officer; it was scary. This program has taught me many lessons such as responsibility, respect, integrity and many other qualities that one must have to be considered eligible for police work.
The first question that we will attempt to answer during our interview process is why the individual decided to choose a career in law enforcement. Research...
Justice is inevitable and controversial when defining it in terms of law enforcement. Law enforcement is challenged in every possible way, as the career is one of many judgmental decisions and controversial actions. Laws have been implemented to enact justice and law enforcement is responsible for upholding the laws for the betterment of all individuals in the criminal justice system. Justice is defined as being fair and just and upholding the law in accordance to high standards through moral rightness and sound reason for the safety of law enforcement and society. While pursuing my criminal justice degree at the University of Phoenix, justice is a topic that has arisen constantly and defined differently by numerous individuals.
Something happened my sophomore year of high school that little did I know would change my perspective, not only of myself, but life in general. I was looking for something new and exciting to enhance my high school existence and decided to give the Criminal Justice Club a try. I was familiar with the advisor of the club, but knew that the club had astigmatism for attracting those students who were just looking for something easy to do. I knew about the criminal justice system, but only what they show on Law and Order. However, I immediately fell in love, not only with the club but the entire prospect of Criminal Justice. I stepped into the club as if it were a place I belonged and easily became a leader. I was able to learn things the TV shows
By being accepted into the Liberty Honors Program, I could better prepare myself for what my future holds. Choosing the right school is imperative today, especially because of our volatile economy which has limited the amount of jobs available to college graduates. By being accepted, I trust that I will be more than ready for the real world after I graduate. Currently, I am planning on majoring in English and minoring in Government with the goal of pursuing a career in law. I want to be a lawyer so that I may stand up for others in the daily battles of life. I am confident that my conscientious and compassionate personality will help me thrive as an attorney. I also believe that I have many skills required to be a successful lawyer, such as memorizing things quickly and commun...
My internship at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department made me realize that I am searching for a career that has high intrinsic value. This is probably the reason why I am in the military and most likely the reason why I can now envision myself as a police officer, because I want to serve my community and give back. According to Boal (2004), “In Order for police officers to be effective they must have the support of the community. All Involved parties should understand their role and obligations in providing for the safety of the community”. From what I saw this department was doing a good job of community policing and it’s something I would be very passionate about if I was an officer. Not only did this internship open me to the possibility of becoming a police officer, it also helps shape my current career
It is because of my ambition that I decided to pursue a post-secondary education. My family has had many obstacles to overcome due to their troubling backgrounds. My father is from Iraq, a war-torn country, and my mother is an aboriginal who experienced the tortures of residential schools. Both my parents went through many unjust events throughout their lives, and that is one of the many reasons I decided to study the field of law, to bring justice to those who are in need of it. Please also answer the following questions in your letter, they are for Indspire research purposes.
My grandfather was a police officer when he was younger; he would tell us stories of he and his buddies on motorcycle patrol and the life of a cop. The stories that he told were so interesting, that ever since, I wanted to have a career in law enforcement. After I graduated from high school, I enrolled in the law enforcement program at Spokane Community College where I planned to fulfill my dream of becoming a cop. I started the law enforcement classes at the college and came to the conclusion that law enforcement was not the career for me.
I have found by placing my ego aside and being honest with myself, I have become wiser in my choices as an officers and a person. This type of personal growth has reflected in my abilities become a leader, a well-rounded officer, a productive member of the K-9 unit, and a person who very much cares for the community he serves. I have learned over time it is necessary to take a personal interest in the community, and to work as a team to solve criminal issues.
