Abstract
Should elders over the age of 75 not be permitted to drive?
Elders over the age of 75 years old should not be permitted to drive because they tend to get lost in familiar locations. They also have trouble following traffic signals. Also, sometimes; it’s hard for them to move their feet from the gas to the brake pedal. They usually cause accidents that can become very severe to other drivers on the road. At a certain age its time to give up their keys and just stop driving. Elders kids should try to encourage them to stop driving or even explain to them how dangerous it is for them to be on the road. According to the data drivers over the age of 75 years old and teenagers has the most fatal car crashes per 100 millions mile traveled. Along with elders, teenagers are mainly involved in more crashes which makes the rate rise higher. The blue line represents the numbers of crashes that was reported to police officers.
