Hacking people's narratives take many forms in our world today. Most overtly common forms of narrative highjacking can be observed in politician's rhetoric and news networks. In order to do this, a prince must know the parts needed to hijack other narratives. First, people only perceives what is around them. This should be one of the main concerns of a prince. A prince must learn how a person or a group of people perceive the world. A useful way of finding out how people perceive the world is by learning news source, social, or political groups they are they associated with and/or identify what they perceive of as morally wrong and/or dangerous. There are many ways of finding this out. For example, crowdsourcing using statistics gathered from a variety of surveys, studies, and new station Knowing what a person is exposed to or experiences through their life can alter how they react to events. Eliciting is the art of getting information. This typically takes the form of having a conversation about everyday topics like a person's life, family, job or etc. Building rapport is a great way to get a target to like a prince. Furthermore, rapport can also help in gathering information. In this day and age, it is essential a prince can elicit information from colleagues and political advisors. For example, news reporters do this regularly when they ask questions at press conferences like for instance Trump, or when Obama and Bush were in office. This may be as simple as connecting over shared interests. Once rapport is established, one can simply gather information by asking the right questions. One can learn a great deal even from an off-handed comment about a work project or about who they saw that day. Elicitation is an essential skill that can help keep a prince informed and armed with information that can help protect oneself or further future
A prince should still not worry about his reputation, and be cruel when necessary to others versus showing mercy to everyone. For example, if you let a few bad citizens go without punishment, they will continue to hurt the rest of the people in one way or another. If you choose to punish one or a small group of people who do harm to the community, less people will be hurt in the long run. Furthermore, every prince should be somewhat feared by his people. If you are not feared, as well as show too much compassion, then you will not be
Another topic he covers is cruelty, if cruelty is used in the right way the prince will gain much respect and it will preserve a prince’s safety or will help secure the state; it is safer for a prince to be feared than it is for him to be loved because no one will listen or respect a leader who they take to be a joke. Men fear punishment, and this can be used to a prince’s advantage. Men will not disobey if there is a chance of them being killed or thrown in
Although Machiavelli gives numerous points on what it takes to excel as a prince, he also shows some raw examples of how he feels a prince should act in order to achieve maximum supremacy. First, when he says, "ought to hold of little account a reputation for being mean, for it is one of those vices which will enable him to govern" proves Machiavelli feels mighty adamant about his view that being mean will help a prince achieve success (332). It is absurd to imagine the meanest prince as the most successful. Also, when Machiavelli states, "our experience has been that those princes who have done great things have held good faith of little account, and have known how to circumvent the intellect of men by craft" revealing his attitude to manipulate people into fearing and respecting the prince (335). Also, Machiavelli shows that for a prince to be successful, he must not think about good faith.
Hitler relates to The Prince quite well. Especially on his rise to power. He wanted to obtain his power politically, rather than by brute force. He spoke to all of the German people through his verbal displays. He wanted all of his people to avoid the communist and Jewish. He captured the popular votes and had the people on
The Prince is a celebrated and highly controversial piece of work by the Italian aristocrat Niccolo Machiavelli. His work is a summation of all the qualities a prince must have in order to remain in his position. Machiavelli supports the idea that a prince use his power for the ultimate benefit of all, but he also does not condemn the use of any unpleasant means in order for the prince to maintain his power. His ideas both compare and contrast to the methods used by Prince Hamlet of Denmark in Shakespeare's Hamlet. Hamlet, as we know, struggles mightily to maintain his position as the prince, and one must wonder if this is due to some of the highly essential qualities outlined by Machiavelli which Hamlet lacks.

Princely Power Niccolo Machiavelli's The Prince contains a very unique section entitled "Princely Virtues" in which Machiavelli takes on a how-to approach in regards to becoming a prince. The instructional qualities of the novel lead its reader to create in themselves an image of not the most virtuous, but in Machiavelli's eyes, the most effective prince. In the selections found in chapters 15-26, Machiavelli teaches his intended princely students the necessary political skills that a prince must possess in order to maintain his position on top. Machiavelli paints the illusionary portrait of the perfect prince. The prince must take great pains to keep up this virtuous front in order to maintain command as well as respect of his people.
He should be able to take away the nobles’ authority whenever he wants. Nobles who are more used to a prince to achieve their own desires rather than loyalty should be treated as enemies. In summary, a wise prince should make the people feel the need of a state and him, so they will always be faithful to him.
A prince should only be concerned with conquering or maintaining a state, for the means will always be judged to be honorable and brave worthy by each and every person, because the masses always follow appearances and the outcomes of affairs, and the world is nothing than the masses."
feel that a Prince should mistreat the citizens. This suggestion is only to serve the Prince's best interests.
Niccoló Machiavelli claims in “The Qualities of the Prince” that a prince must have certain qualities that will allow him to seize and maintain his power as a ruler. Machiavelli asserts that these qualities will guarantee the ruler to be able to govern his subjects effectively. According to him, a prince must study the art of war, must understand generosity and to what extent he must be generous to be effective, must choose to either be loved or feared, and be able to keep his word to his citizens according to the situation. These qualities can still apply in today’s politics, and will be useful for a modern time politician as long as they are used carefully.
The Prince by Niccol Machiavelli isn't about one man's ways to feed his power hungry mindset through gluttony, nor is it just explaining altercations between a nation's states. This writing is regarding how one's self-confidence can make them become powerful in a society and also, the way morals and politics differ and can be separated in a government. Originally, Machiavelli wrote The Prince to gain support from Lorenzo de' Medici, who during the era, was governor of Florence. As meant as writing about how a society should be run, this book has been read by many people around the world who want to have better knowledge of the perfect stability of beliefs and politics required to run a good civilization. Enlightening people from the average Joe to the high monarchs of countries, The Prince is one of the best, if not the best, books relating to politics of all time.
The subject of human nature has great emphasis in “The Prince”. Human beings are viewed as rational decision makers who try to maximize their self-interest. They are inclined to help whoever will give them the most benefits and by definition, may easily betray someone to whom they were previously loyal seeing a better opportunity. A large part of being a prince or a politician is being able to lead people, and therefore it is of utter importance in how to deal with their behavior. “Here a question arises: whether it is better to be loved than feared, or the reverse. The answer is, of course, that it would be best to be both loved and feared. But since the two rarely come together, anyone compelled to choose will fin...
Machiavelli writes, “that man has qualities that will bring him either praise or blame” and because a prince is a man; therefore, he will also exhibit these qualities. A prince should put his good qualities on public display and be clever enough to hide his immoral failings from his subjects; but, if these vices are necessary to maintain his state, he should embrace them; because this appearance of a strong state by his subjects gives them a false sense of security.
Interaction is a significant part of our daily lives. Oral communication with others is inevitable, and therefore it is crucial for us to acquire the skills to do so correctly. Aside from simply stating words or expressing ideas, oral communication serves various purposes. Oral communication allows an individual to express emotions, ideas, and feelings; it gives people the ability to empower, inspire, and motivate those who listen; and it allows people to share knowledge and traditions, as well as build their self-esteem. Oral communication is also useful in leading us to new discoveries, ideas, cultures, and perspectives (O’Neill). Thus, oral communication serves several different purposes in daily life; yet each of these purposes are connected to an even larger purpose. According to the textbook Communication: Making Connections, “Effective communication is critical to living successfully in today’s soc...
