In this day in age we do not appreciate our country enough. The USA is much more developed than other countries and has a stable economy and political system The two boys from the movie have a much harder life than even the ones in poverty are doing better. They have to work everyday, for money that goes to there family not even spending money. In the usa we have welfare if you don't want to get a job or your salary is under pay you could live off. This country gives a lot of people opportunities to make their lifes great. With all the things we have in America we aren't thankful, unlike in India these are the conditions they wished they had and would kill for. For all the people that think it needs to raised it is not a job you are supposed
The film’s brilliance lies in the choice to show three distinct familial units with varying and different responses to their disadvantaged circumstances. The three boys who are the main subject of this film each experience a set of challenges and disadvantages associated with growing up in poverty. Appachey lives with his mother and younger siblings and has little to no adult supervision because his single mother must work long hours to support the family. Harley lives with his grandmother because his mother is incarcerated for attempting to kill the man who sexually abused her son. Harley suffers from anger and personality disorders and has a difficult time fitting in at school. Andrew lives with his father, mother and sister but is subject to repeated and frequent moves due his father’s inability to secure stable employment. His mother also suffers from significant mental illness and bouts of manic

Throughout the entire film when you see society in Dharavi they were constantly working and on the move. In the video there was people walking up and down the street, cooking bread, picking through garbage, studying, and making pottery. As a whole the people who live in the slum are extremely hard working. Their life depends on this hard work and they know that. The society we live in is not like this. For most of our society, if we do not have to work a day we don 't. We have the option to do that and very many of us take it for granted. We do not have to walk miles everyday just to get water that isn 't sanitary. We do not have to pick through garbage in unsafe conditions to make a living. In comparison to the people of Dharavi our society seems kind of lazy in my eyes. Some of us can sleep the entire day away and not think twice of it. Some kids have the option to live with their parents well into their twenties and not have to pay a single bill, but the people of Dharavi would not survive if they did not work. The people of Dharavi have so little yet work so hard in life, when we have so much and in comparison to them we work so little. Seeing the conditions they live in and the motivation they have to get up and work hard everyday is extremely motivating to me as a kid. I do not want to be someone that takes everything America has to offer for granted when there are kids over there living in a slum that will never experience these luxuries. 306

...s. If America performs a positive action in a foreign country or domestically, Americans are pleased with the government. Americans also acquire anger when the government does an action that citizens do not approve of. However, Americans are represented in their government and have a choice, because America is a nation build around the idea of freedom. The Statue of Liberty is the source of this idea of freedom.
I read your letter explaining that you’re a member of your school debate team. You said that you’re arguing against the point that Americans are unfit to govern themselves. I am here to help you prove that Americans are fit to govern themselves. To begin with, the Confederation government wasn’t effective when it first started, however it grew stronger over time. According to Alexander Hamilton, the Confederation government was defective, meaning that it wasn’t ready to maintain law and order, or prepared for war. Primarily, the major problems were treasury, lack of troops, and not being a strong government overall. Also, states didn’t help the federal government pay for debts. States had more power than the federal government, yet they couldn’t
The United States of America is considered one of the greatest nations in the world, but it did not get to be this way very easily. Our ancestors went through many trials and tribulations in our history and had to learn many lessons the hard way to get us to where we are today. Events like The Great Depression taught us many things. Also, new inventions, westward expansion and Roosevelt's New Deal impacted our country in positive ways.
Throughout Society, many families have seen struggle and lived through poverty. The economy is not always thriving which takes a toll on people who suffer through unemployment or low wage jobs. The Frontline documentary, “Two American Families”, is the perfect example of struggle in the United States. It shows the lives of two struggling families and their efforts to survive. Two essays, “The Sociological Imagination” by C. Wright Mills, and “The Uses of Poverty: The Poor Pay All” by Herbert J. Hans, support the analysis of the video strongly. They express many ideas that relate to the world and struggle throughout society. Also, there are many sociological terms that depict the events that occurred in the documentary.
It shows that among the poor kids going to prison, the majority was African American and Latinos. Also, it is shown that police brutality is still prominent in many parts in United States of America. Many young African American are faced with problem of going to jail and not getting proper education, especially those who has the least advantage living in an area of poor education and lifestyle. It is shown that the United States had the many young people in prison compare to the rest of the country. This can be related to the discrimination because majority of the young kids who goes to jail are African American and Hispanics, also this ties into them going to jail because they are the group who earns the lowest income, thus they have less opportunity and more likely to face discrimination. However, this issue has become a major social problem, which many young people and activist took to the streets and protested against the injustice that was happening. Also, in the movie it also showed the discrimination that is happening in the 80s, when there was an increase in police
Many events, people, words, and documents can explain the simply american values of America but here are three phrases and words that best sum up America's values and principles. Creatively, perseverance, and the phase life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Americans are angry. But contrary to what conservatives would have you believe, most Americans are not angry about gay marriage, planned parenthood, or which bathroom a transgender person chooses to use. They are angry about 7 years of Republican obstructionism, hate speech, and fear mongering. Seven long years of vitriol and division that lead to the rise of their radical and totally unqualified Presidential nominee- Donald Trump.
Being American also means you spend time with your family and spend time with people and not just ignore everyone and do nothing.
This film was written and produced in the middle of the Great Depression, and the depiction of the poverty and unemployment is very evident throughout the entire film.
I am proud to live in the United States of America. Their is 323.1 million people in the United States of America and 1,281,900 people defending it. Have people ever thought when they say that America is a disgrace that their is more than one million people fighting for them. Patriotism isn’t about who our president is or all the hate in the world, to me it is about the people that keep America the land of the free.
