Picture yourself in the Unsinkable Titanic. All of a sudden, there was a deafening bang! Stress levels increase as well. Screaming and fleeing are the sounds of the crowd. Everything seems a bit hazy. You suddenly lose consciousness. When you awaken, you find yourself aboard a lifeboat, cruising away from what appear to be the Titanic's remnants. You wonder what happened and who was to blame? There are multiple reasons that the Titanic sank But I think the three main reasons that the Titanic sank was because there were not enough lifeboats,The wireless radio operator dismissed a key iceberg warning, and mirages and hazy horizons were created by weather conditions. One more reason that the Titanic sank was because mirages and hazy horizons were created by weather conditions. I know this because in the text “Why Did the Titanic Sink?” paragraph #8 it said “British historian Tim Maltin, claimed that atmospheric conditions on the night of the disaster might have caused a phenomenon called super refraction. This bending of light could have created mirages, or optical illusions, that prevented the Titanic’s lookouts from seeing the iceberg clearly.” Also in paragraph #8 it said “It also would have made the Titanic appear closer, and smaller, to the nearby ship the Californian, causing its crew to assume it was a different ship without a radio, preventing them from attempting to communicate. From their vantage point, and with these hazy conditions, when the Titanic started to sink, the Californian’s crew would have thought it was merely sailing away.” This shows that it may not have been anyone's fault except mother nature herself. In conclusion, the sinking of the Titanic was a result of multiple
for Sinking the Titanic In the early hours of April 15, 1912 the mighty RMS Titanic sank and took 1,503 victims with it. Many have argued what and who was at fault for the sinking, and it seems to me that all evidence points to the manufacturers were at fault for the sinking, specifically the engineer Thomas Andrews. Let's start off with the logic and evidence for the claim. Thomas Andrews made several faults when designing the Titanic. Blueprints were not even made for the Titanic. He made sixteen
Technically, We’re Doing it Wrong Technological achievements are a testament to the human race. Technology is the one thing on this planet that is continuing to evolve past us. The irony is that so many people have become blind to the consequences of our actions by the light of our technological achievements. In the 1980’s, engineers and scientists noted being almost entirely motivated by external validation and legitimization which began this trend (Jameson 8). By overcoming the hubris of achievement
