Genghis Khan Many people know who Genghis Khan was but they do not know very much about him or his personal life. Genghis Khan was a leader who impacted all of Mongolia and parts of Asia when he united Mongolia. Genghis also had several secrets in and throughout his life.
Genghis Khan was a very strong warrior and the leader of his clan. He endured many hardships for the sake of victories. When his clan was under attack and everyone else was killed he escaped with his horse. “Temujin [Genghis Khan] waited in the cold Khingan Mountains for many days” (Demi 17). Genghis single handedly escaped from an army camp of one hundred thousand soldiers, by killing the guards and hiding in a pond and breathing through a reed (Demi 20). He could demolish any army, city, or group of soldiers in his path. His goal was to take over the whole world (Goldberg 11). Surprisingly, the warriors listened, which helped them win many battles when they were fighting together. When they were attacking an army he and his men surrounded them at the base of a mountain and forced them to go up the mountain and be killed (Demi 37). Across the plains he led his army to countless victories. Genghis Khan united all of Mongolia in the year of 1206 (Demi 40). “In his lifetime, Genghis Khan conquered lands that stretched for 3,000 miles. He was khan-or leader- of millions of people.
