I sat down and decided to watch the movie White House Down. If Roland Emmerich (The Director) is making lousy movies of how the world ends, he’s at least making proper movies like Independence Day and White House Down, according to critics. Roland is known for these thriller’s but, has only succeeded once in a while. White House Down tries this out with actors Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum. We’ve seen Tatum perform within the movies 21 Jump Street, the G.I. Joe series and many more. Jamie Foxx has an amazing performance with the movies Annie and Rio 2. This is a compelling duo with a hit or miss director. If Channing Tatum can do a Balanced performance and Jamie Foxx does a stunning job. I personally enjoy these type of movies that are thrillers …show more content…
His first scene is talking to a person who works in the White House asking for a favor. He wants to have permission to take a tour of the White House with his daughter. The lady says yes and we then go over to Tatum’s house for the big news. The thing with him and his daughter is that they don’t have the best relationship, and to add a little more, he missed her talent show. Tatum and his daughter are in the car and his daughter is not happy with him. Until he shows her the tickets to the White House. This made Tatum dad of the year because his daughter is genuinely into history and knowing all about the white house. A daughter and father bonding moment, a little thing that it is unexpected, but is nice to see in the movie. So far so good and until... ohhhhhhhh noooooooo, the White House is getting attacked. With the White House attacked and the government slowly bleeding to death. He realizes this is his best chance to impress the president and at the same time to protect his daughter and win her back.( Earlier in the movie, Tatum applied to protect the president and gets denied, so not wanting to make his daughter think he is a complete failure, he takes her on this …show more content…
If you’re going to watch a movie for quality and what movie critics use to review movies, this is not the movie. What I recommend doing however, go watch Olympus Has Fallen. I believe that Olympus Has Fallen is definitely better than White House Down in every way possible way. Introducing the main characters to when the White House goes down. Some critics are saying that White House Does it better. How Sway... HOW. They were not sane while making the review. Olympus Has Fallen does it way better and not only does it better, it was a better overall performance. Channing Tatum is Channing Tatum. Of course he is going to have a good performance, but one man can’t carry a movie. Jamie Foxx, sorry but this was not your movie. Supporting cast, the Little Girl did a better job than All the other people. Connor is better than Emily. Gerald butler competes with Tatum. Foxx was cringeworthy. Just the movie was eh. As you can see, eh is the only way to describe this
There are many accurate depictions of the political process in this movie, but there are also some areas where this movie was just being a people pleaser. The American President accurately portrayed the rolls of the media, the effects of polling, the impact of primaries, and it showed the process of introducing a bill to congress. However, it also was being a typical Hollywood movie at times. This was mostly true in the cases where the President came off being naïve, when he through caution into the wind for a girlfriend, and at other times, like when he was to dignified to join into the smear campaign.
Overall I like the movie because it is emotionally raw with a considerable amount of violence and action that isn’t senseless and is instead a product of the emotional rawness of it all. Also because the Ho Yay between Orange and White is considerable and it makes for a rather interesting watch.
Many viewers perceived this movie as being wonderful; however, on the other hand, some film reviewers thought otherwise. Many viewers thought this movie to be great because of the action packed scenes, the adventurous outline, and the romance story. Many of the film reviewers felt that the movie itself was well done but did not appreciate the actual story. Many of the reviewers felt that the truth of the actual event was drawn away from and gave us the wrong picture. For example, Jack Mathews made the comment, “Mann turned the main dramas—the battle for Ft. Henry and the attempt by Magua to avenge his grievance against Munros—into subplots.” Reviewers felt that the romance story was the main point of the movie, when really it should have been about the b...
This movie was inspiring and encouraging to anyone who is struggling with something. Overcoming his controversies in life became the main point of the movie. Knowing that this movie was based upon a true story inspires the people even more.
In conclusion, the film is very significant as it is an excellent education tool which can be used in our schools to enhance easy understanding of the US history. The scenes involving Colia, Mrs. Boynton and Marie Foster are very crucial as they inform the present generation on the central roles of the women in achieving the right to vote among the black people in the history of the US. The scenes provide reasonable grounds on why America should celebrate the role of women in the liberation of the nation. Despite the then president of US being given credit typically by the writer of the movie, the film presents the full credit for the efforts of the civil rights movement whose efforts in white opposition could not be ignored by the US government. The authors of the film were successful in their objective of bringing into the light the road behind the liberation of the black people in the US and this is the reason I will rate it at 4/5
The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
... with very few errors. Cold Mountain has a heart wrenching ending, and has a viewer at the edge of their seat through almost the entire film. The Civil War was a devastating time in American history, and after hundreds of thousands of deaths a new country was reborn.
It recounts the documentary we watched called “4 little girl” and the bombing that they endured at church. It was a horrific bombing that affected much more than those families affected but the whole African American community because this was where they organized a lot of boycotts and marches. This bombing hit the heart and soul of the black residents. And like we distinguished in class the segregation that occurred was increasingly different depending on who you ask. The film covered a lot of the things that we learned about MLK and his courage in Alabama especially the rainbow coalition that they were able to unite after the attacks on African Americans were broadcasted. George Wallace was also displayed in the movie and his acts of being on both side. We see him defending the racial class and then later trying to help the lower African American class. It helps one confirm how racist that he is by allowing these acts as the governor of
My thoughts on the movie Hacksaw Ridge would be well judged and fair criticism because it was a timeline of a marvelous boy's life that one moment would tell the future of his whole life. The movie started when a boy named Dalton had seen this beautiful nurse and he was just staring at her for the longest time. Then he finally had the courage to walk over the and he was five feet from here just staring and the nurse said can I help u and he said: “ I need my belt “. In that moment in the movie, he knew that he had found that one girl that he was going to spend the rest of his life with. In life, it's hard to find that one and Dalton found her at a young age.To also be fine with her husband going to war where he could die and he was fine with
...r, this movie is lack of depth of storyline. The audiences can even predict what will happen in the next scenes. Moreover, the ending of this movie is too cheesy and irrational according to me. If only they change the ending to become more interesting and rational, I will give a four or five stars out of five. In spite of a lame twist ending, this movie is a perfect example to show that managers should be able to motivate and challenge their employee. It is important to remember that a happy employee means a productive employee.
Spielberg did a wonderful job with this movie. For people who expects to receive straight facts when watching historical films, this would not be the best type of movie to watch to gain knowledge from. As for one who watches as an entertainment, this movie is one that will attain your attention. Although the movie is inaccurate, with information, it has a well put together story line and is not overwhelming when the court scenes are taking place. The role of Cinque does present a possible experience of the slaves that were captured in Havana and brought to the United States of America. This movie overall had it's pros and cons, in which pros outweighed the cons.
In the autobiography, Obama entails on the beginning journey of his life from early childhood to young adulthood. The novel begins with him finding out from his aunt that his father has passed away in Nairobi. Obama’s father left him and his mother when he was only 2 years old. Obama then talks about the family he grew up with, his mother and grandparents, and the racism they dealt with at a time when few accepted interracial relations and even more so marriages. He recalls being made fun of as a young child when other kids would make monkey noises when it was discovered his father was from Kenya. He then moves to Indonesia when his mother remarries, but then at 10 years old moves back to Hawaii where he spent his early childhood. It was with his grandparents that he developed much of his character and learned how strongly education was emphasized in his family. Obama also talks about how fascinated he was with by his father. As he grows a bit older into adolescence, Obama learns more about race relations and reads the book Heart of Darkness. This book helps him to see how white people look at black people, as a white man wrote the book talking about black people. He also delves into his marijuana use, which he used to help him during this confusing and rough period in his life. Obama’s story then ...
Maybe you have read the book and at the same time, follow the movie adaptation. Did Jamie Dornan’s hot bod follow the critical and descriptive lines of the E.L. James novel? Is Dakota Johnson innocent and brunette enough for your liking? Well, it does not matter because both actors are already done with filming Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
Most reviewers overall enjoyed the movie very much. Christopher Null gave the movie four out of five stars and said it was “perfection and a good memorable film”. Steven Rhodes also says it is a good film “It's the sort of film that will leave you exhausted but glad you came.” (http://www.imdb.com/Reviews/210/21041) However from a woman’s point of view the film was barbaric and violent, “it's socially irresponsible and repellent in its graphic depictions of extreme violence and brutality,” says Susan Granger. (http://www.speakers-podium.com/susangranger.) I, however, even though I am a female I enjoyed the film very much. It has become one of my favorite movies because I feel like I can relate to the topic very much because I wish I was just able to let go and do what I really want to do. Everyone has his or her own opinion of things so you should see the movie and see how you react to it.
In my own opinion I think this film is great. I think this because it
