“Many people, especially, ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you are right and you know it, speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.”- Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi is saying that no matter who we are, we should speak our minds for what is right. I believe that when we stand up for what we believe in, it shows what kind of person we want to show who we are to others. For instance, in Minnesota a young adult, Joey Prusak, saw a blind man who dropped a twenty-dollar bill and an elderly woman picked it up and kept it. When it was the elderly woman’s turn, Joey immediately and politely asked the woman to return the money back to the man and the woman gave him a confused look; he again politely asked her to give back the money and she began to cuss, swear, and refuse to give the money back. A leader is someone who is not willing to sit down and take it all in, he/she is willing to speak up and is not afraid of what others might say.
