People have been trying to find out what role does the Amazon rainforest plays. Also there are many shifts of climate in the Amazon rainforest. Each year 28 million acres of land is burned, and cutted down causing deforestation. Killing many living species in that process. If this continues, then very many plants, and animals are going instinct in areas.
The oil productions can hurt the rainforest. It says” in 2003 an oil pipline that runs through the amazon rainforest in Ecuador.”So we can see that there was a pipline going through the rainforest. That oil pipline was causeing irreparable damage to the Amazon rain forest. It didn’t benefit the rainforest at that time it was happening.
In brazil the cattle ranching is being the cause of destroying their rainforest. It says “Brazilians are cutting down 6.1 million acres of land for the cow’s land..” We see that the forest cannot grow while the brazilians are cattle farming. So everything is beinng destroyed just because of cows, when there’s tons of plants, and animals the rain forest.
Also it says “according to a new report by the center for International forestry research, oil drilling, and mining in tropical environments have helped to preserve rainforest. “So we can see that the oil production can also help protect the rainforest as well as harming it too. This could be a way others will stop cutting down the trees.
The problem with hunting animals is that it’s going to extinction. The hunting mostly happens with guns. “This cause enormous losses across the range of mammalian species”, this shows that its really common of different species are becoming extinct over being hunted.Things like that have to be stopped because its illegal to do that.
“The selling of coffee has grown into a multibillion-dollar industry in the past decade. The coffee beans fueling this burgeoning business are grown in the rainforest”.There are two ways to grow coffee; In the shade, which preserves rain forest ,and in the sun, which destroys the rain forest”. This brings out that there are ways coffee can help the rainforest and can even also destroy it.
“Rainforest contain a greater variety of plant species than any other species. Some of these plants, researchers believe, may have valuable medical properties that could save the lives of people suffering from diseases such as cancer and AIDS”.
This policy memo addresses the development and expansion of the cattle ranching industry in Brazil, which has contributed to the mass deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon in the last 40 years. It exposes the regional and global consequences to deforestation and provides strategies for the Brazilian government to sustainably manage cattle ranching industries while protecting the future of the Amazon. The rainforest ecosystem is an immense reserve of natural recourses that is far more valuable than the beef produced on Brazilian cattle ranches. Not only does the rainforest create habitat for up to 65% of the world’s biodiversity, but when harvested sustainably, it provides humans with an abundance of spices, foods, oils, medicines and vital research areas (NEWMAN).
Therefore, a large amount of trees were cut down and led to forest destruction. People have done these kinds of activities for many years and these deforestation activities have brought about a lot of permanent and long term issues. Although the society has started to consider the problem of deforestation, it is not easy to solve the issues completely. Land desertification can be a huge area and it almost cannot be controlled. In addition, it is not only threatening the people and animals in the Amazon, the world is also threatened by deforestation.
The dense levels of vegetation absorb tremendous amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and help slow down the rate of climate change that the planet is experiencing. This process also produces high levels of oxygen that help to support life around the world. Coupled with the high levels of rainfall that benefit the water cycle, the rainforests are an integral part of the many systems that exist. These forests contain a wide variety of plants that a source of different chemicals that are used to create medicines. The degradation of these areas could potentially lead to the loss of medicines that could cure some of the deadliest diseases and illnesses that

Agriculture is an absolute necessity for human life on Earth to continue. There are too many people on the planet for existence as hunters and gatherers to work anymore. That said, it must be realized that concessions must be made to allow such food growth and production to occur. But this does not mean that another important element of life on Earth can be destroyed for it. Unfortunately, that is indeed what is occurring, at an alarming rate. The rainforests of the planet are dwindling as the land they belong on is used more and more for agriculture, all over the world. In the Amazon, ,the most commonly detrimental agricultural practice is the technique of land clearing known as Slash and Burn.
The plants found in the rain forests can be useful to everyone around the world. The Kayapo, a people of the Amazon, are dependent upon plants in the Amazon. A research team came into the area that the Kayapo people inhabit. A team of scientists researched 1,200 plants in the area. Their results have shown that 98% of these plants are used in the Kayapo society. Of all the plants 45% of them were never known to...

Some of the negative impacts human make are pollution. This happens when people litter and they are not careful of pouring liquids into the rivers or on the grounds of the forests. This also happens when over fertilizing an ecosystem. We also impact the Amazon Rainforest by over collecting wood. This can be in many different ways, cutting down to many trees and not growing new ones used to make paper and firewood and ,taking too many branches off of trees for firewood and building shelters. One of the big ways we impact the Amazon Rainforest is commercial agriculture. What I mean by this is the illegal clearing of land and causes deforestation. This can be clearing the forest to build malls, shopping complexes, stores and apartment building. This takes away the trees and bushes for the animals to live on and near giving them no shelter. The last way also very common for human impact would be hunting, several animals are killed due to people wanting it for clothing, food and decoration. Over the past years hunting has triggered a increase in in depletion of animals. This has led to removing species that are important to the rainforests function. The loss of these species could lead to other animals becoming extinct and then lead to the Amazon having little to no
The beautiful Amazon rainforest “covers a vast area of more than two and one-half million square kilometers” (The Amazon: Its Developers, Destroyers). It is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, not found anywhere else in the world. Scientists believe that there are still many yet to be found. The Amazon is also home to many tribes who have been there for a long period of time. These tribes accommodate medicine men who know the secrets of the rainforest and the healing properties not yet discovered by scientists. The mysterious Amazon is a long-time treasure that needs to be preserved, because there is so much still to be discovered. However, everyday these opportunities are being taken away from future generations because of the human influence on the Amazon rainforest. Future cures for diseases and the discovery of new life in the Amazon are being destroyed more and more every day. Human influence is negatively effecting the Amazon rainforest.
Now is a critical time to address the issue of deforestation. Around the world forests are logged for timber and paper pulp. South America contains a large amount of mahogany and rosewood—highly coveted types of wood—within the Amazon basin. Forests are also cleared to make room for the planting of cash crops, such as coffee and soy, as well as livestock farms. After only a few years, overuse of these lands for crops typically causes soil erosion that quickly turns deforested regions into wastelands. Deforestation is responsible for 20 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, which is more than all emissions all motorized transportation added together. The destruction of forests does not just threaten our climate; it threatens the livelihoods of billions of people that rely on forests for food and economic activities. The modern world relies on rainforests more than for the well-known reason. People receive many of their fruits and medicines from plant species that survive solely within the heart of a rainforest. Let’s not forget that forests also serve as habitats to wildlife a...
Rainforests once covered 14% of the worlds land surface, however now it only covers a mere 6%. It is estimated that all rainforests could be consumed in less than 40 years. Trees are becoming more needed and used everyday. We need them cut down for many reasons such as paper and timber, while also needing them ‘untouched’ for other reasons like oxygen, we have to ask ourselves, which is more important? At the current rate, most of the rainforests are being cut down for resources like paper and timber, but less importance is being placed on main resources like oxygen.
GreenPalm (2015) states how ‘the removal of acres of rainforest threatens the rich biodiversity’ in the ‘ecosystems’. Highlighting the risks of the cutting of the oil palm trees to produce the palm oil to both the environment and also the organisms which live within the areas, as certain species in the areas of the clearing of land, mainly with the palm oil ‘exported from Indonesia and Malaysia’ according to Say-No-To-Palm-Oil (2015), face possible extinction. There is still however ways in which the production of palm oil can be sustainable to the environment, as palm oil is essential for the use by humans because of the containment of the nutrients and also with the production of foods and

The Amazon rainforest has a huge role not only in the forest itself but in our future and with the way we humans live. Daily, the Amazon provides the world with things such as medicines, fruits and nuts, spices, and of course some of the air that we breathe. The Amazon rainforest itself absorbs over two and a half billion tons of carbon dioxide a year. It also releases over two billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. With the deforestation of the Amazon increasing with time, less trees are being used to control the intake and outtake of the carbon dioxide. Other than releasing the carbon dioxide the rainforest also is responsible for twenty percent of earth’s oxygen. The Amazon additionally generates the hydrological cycle, which
You are standing in the middle of a hot and muggy tropical rainforest near the equator. As you feel rain hit your head you look up to see trees upon trees which are hundreds of feet tall. When you look at around the area surrounding you, you notice many types of life. Whether it be small plants like ferns or large animals such as jaguars and apes. The tropical rainforest is a very important piece of our earth. This is because they provide much life such as trees and plants. These trees and plants provide oxygen for us and our world. Which is why it is so important to treat it well. This paper will share information about the climate, the food chain, and the landscapes of the tropical rainforests.
