I am a student at Grandview High School in Hillsboro, Missouri and I am beyond excited for the opportunity to attend Missouri State University. I am a straight-A student and high-achieving athlete at Grandview. I have always dreamed of working in film, digital media, and computer science. At Missouri State, my ability to pursue these dreams would become a reality. Something that sets me apart is that in all things I strive to be a high-integrity, model citizen. I also consider myself a person of high morals who is a friend to everyone. It is a proven fact that people who like each other work better together and so I try to make sure in all of my interactions I come off as a likeable person. Another attribute that makes me unique is my perseverance; I am an extremely effective self-motivator. In my senior year of high …show more content…
This means that often, resources are scarce when putting together various clubs and sports teams that other schools might offer. For that reason, we did not have a Speech and Debate team. My freshman year, there was finally a teacher willing to put in the effort to make it happen. Still, our very first year we met in a storage closet every morning because there were no additional rooms. Although there were only about seven of us, through hard work and dedication we became successful, winning various trophies at competition and even ended up taking a couple events to state. However, this was not as much about the accolades as it was about making it known that Grandview was more than capable of competing in Speech and Debate. I donated my first trophy to the trophy case because I thought it would serve better as an inspiration to others than as a decoration on my desk at home. Today, Speech and Debate has a dedicated class of about 20 students. I also played an important role in the creation of Film Club and the Multimedia class at Grandview but Speech and Debate is the one that stands out to me the
They have no team spirit at all, there are no teams or clubs because no one shows interest. Shelton Pryor was Paul’s best friend; he was more outgoing than Paul. He didn’t care what the consequences of his actions would he just wanted to have fun. Shelton was upset because of the facts that nobody cared about the school. He had the idea that if they got a student to run for president things would change.
What sets me apart is being able to communicate/interact with diverse groups II consider myself as a very social person since I am involved in band, sports such as basketball and cross-country, and in many clubs II get
that one guy that everyone seems to know. He stands out from others; he’s unique. You
I am someone who is not afraid to go against the grain or stand up for something even if it is not viewed as popular. The scenario where my vehicle commander gave me a direct order to shoot my weapon at a group of kids taught me so much about myself. I knew if it had been anyone else that was in my vehicle they would have been too afraid to disobey the order even though the children provided zero threat to us. Even when I was treate...
I generally regard myself as a disorganized person. I believe this is an innate trait for me. As far as I can remember, I've always been disorganized. But throughout my life, I developed some ways to cope with it, especially after having some negative experiences. So what was the main factor that made me disorganized person? I strongly believe that it was a combination of both nature and nurture, but if I had to choose one, I would have to say that the genes that came from my father have a big impact on this trait.
There are all different personalities, such as outgoing or shy. Being an outsider is not a trait, it's an aspect that everyone will go through at some point in your life if you haven't already.
Soccer has always been my passion. I started to play when I was in second grade. I have played continuously and am now a captain of the Suttons Bay Lady Norsemen. We are a high school cooperative team consisting of players from Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport. This is our fourth year of existence and we worked hard to establish our team and its killer reputation. The part that I am most proud of is that I was among a group of girls that helped convince the Suttons Bay School Board that our high school should establish a girls' high school team. We asked to be put on the board's agenda and prepared a persuasive presentation outlining the reasons that girls at Suttons Bay High School deserved their own team. We knew that money was not available to fund the team, so we promised to find it ourselves. The Board approved our team in the spring of 1997. Our team members and parents spent long hours in fundraising to pay for our uniforms, equipment, transportation, referees and coaches.
When you stand out people remember you. You are stuck in their brain. When you are unique you have different experiences and skills from everyone else, you should use that to your advantage. Today more teens frown upon standing out, rather than fitting in which in the future will lead to a society that is boring and uncultured. If you don't think outside the box at work you will end up doing the same thing the last person did and employers don't want that.
I had never really been a part of a team that had a chance to win something, but the potential was always there. I finally got my chance to be a part of such a team my sophomore year of track. Mr. Jones, the head track coach, had decided to experiment with some different races to gain more team points. Since the girls' team lacked a medley relay, he placed Cindy, Kim, Susan and I in those spots. Cindy would run the 400, Kim would run the 200, and Susan and I would start the race off by each running the 100. We all had worked viciously to earn those spots by running off against our teammates.
...had very few content and it had to be put together in a short, unexpected, time span. So far it has been the same for the school year of 2016-2017 because no one shows up, though I and the group still thrive to doing the very best. Yearbook is something I truly enjoy. Although, debate was very intellectual it is an activity I did not enjoy much. I was in the first Denver Urban Debate League team my school ever had. We were all very lost with the structure, the content, and in general. The first ever debate tournament I competed in, a student’s partner did not show up. I had planned on competing by myself but I decided to pair with the student due to her bad luck. I had never practiced her so it caused a barrier. My determination allowed me to complete the tournament with the student and win third place despite of the roadblock. Debate taught way power and willpower.
From the time I was a young child, I have always known I was different from others. Although I didn't realize I was in any way "smart" until around the fourth grade, I had been skipped up to the first grade from kindergarten. While friends struggled with homework assignments, finishing them came easily to me, like riding a bike. Supposedly - I've never ridden a bike.
The Characteristics That Make Me Awesome Living in this world does not come with a template and every individual has a personal approach. Different people co-exist with others by employing their various tools of interaction. Some are violent and full of drama, while others seamlessly integrate into every situation. I have found out that the formula which works for me involves being funny, sarcastic and displaying self-confidence, attributes that can be used to define my life.
I’m not different. I’m unique. Even though I get upset when I attempt to communicate with people and see a possible friendship but then, just like everyone else, they realise I’m different. Then the friendship is doomed and i never see that person
Sometimes a person may feel that they have no purpose in life. Finding out who you are just takes the time of sitting down and thinking of the importance in your life. Who am I? I am Mercedes Kimberly Kingston, and I am a person with different personalities, characteristics, and identities. The many ways, in which I identify myself, in fact, are the ways that define who I am. My Identity is something only I can fully define. I have a little brother, which makes me a sister; I have two loving parents, which makes me a daughter; I am in college studying medicine, which makes me a student; and I have wonderful friends in desperate need of support, which makes me a wonderful best friend.
