Through out history people have been influenced by what they want to hear and the way a current trend is happening. The evolution of mankind has drifted towards a different society than what we where born to sustain. We are emotionally driven human beings that want to feel accepted by the rules of society. Sometimes an individual can confuse actions or emotions towards trying to fulfill the standards society has imposed. I have analyzed two articles that incorporate how a society reacts towards integrity as well as honesty and the belief that an individual in order to be a part of society one must comply with the standards that are set. As I began to interpret what Stephen L. Carter explained in “The Insufficiency of Honesty” I examined they

Honesty can be perceived from different outlooks; it can be seen for the lies you say, for the actions you make and for the way you behave. Honesty is more than just saying the truth, is living a way of life that tends to go for what is good and correct; is doing what is right and just. If honesty did not exist, relationships between friends, family and loving couples would be full of distrust and uncertainty. Honesty is what keeps people together, is what makes them trust in each other. Furthermore, honesty is the absolute expression of truthfulness in our lives, and what makes this world to have faith on itself.
The assassination of Julius Caesar was just because Caesar was a vengeful tyrant that became much too powerful after defeating some of Rome’s greatest adversaries; however, some believed that Caesar was a forceful leader who took necessary actions for a man in his position. Caesar was often seen as vengeful and spent a greater part of his dictatorship defeating his enemies and expanding his own power. In fact, Caesar’s tyrannical dictatorship even extended to his own peers. After defeating a great deal of his most prominent enemies, most of which happened to be Roman senators and generals, Caesar declared himself ruler for life. This declaration and the events that ensued left 60 Roman senators and politicians no other option than to remove Caesar from his throne. However, some saw Caesar as a just ruler despite his harshness, and say his actions were appropriate for a man of his time and social ranking.

A position within the consulship guaranteed him an army full of soldiers and a province to go in battle. To have power, Caesar needed to display his military skills through battles and show his soldiers his capacity as a General. The Gallic War was one of Caesar well known accomplishments because after the war, his popularity status increased and he was known as the most influential military leader of his time. In order to become dictator of Rome, Julius Caesar used

There are many different things I think of when I think of what leadership means to me. My idea of leadership is to be able to inspire others, get them excited to do something, motivate them and set an example to others. I also think that showing respect to others is a key part of leadership. You don’t just need leadership qualities, but you need to be a successful leader. To me being a successful leader is being able to have people follow you and not disrespect you. If you are a great leader your followers start to respect you more. To be a leader you also need to have certain qualities like being sociable, intelligent, have patience to deal with situations. A leader needs to be motivated or they will be a failure. I think I show leader ship all the time inside and outside of school. “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way (John C. Maxwell).
