Ying Zhang A Review of Who Moved My Cheese? As growing up, we gradually realize that life is distinct from we thought when staying in schools. More often, we prefer to maintain the status quo instead of exploring new areas. For instance, as the undergraduate, we expect that we can land well-paid jobs to ensure our living conditions. The fact is that there is fierce competition in the society and we usually cannot find ideal job. Neither does everyone can have such works. Furthermore, if we find we cannot go forward, it is a remarkable opportunity to make changes. The book is divided into three parts: A Gathering Chicago, Who Moved My Cheese?: The Story, A Discuss of That Same Day. The second part is the key of the book, which is worthy of repeated reading for undergraduates whom are easy to be confused to their future. In the story, four symbolized characters appear to find cheeses in Cheese Station C at first. To their surprise, there is no cheese there so that they confront alternatives. Sniff and Scurry realize that they should move on to find new cheese sooner. By contrast, hem and haw have trouble finding cheese so that fear swelled into their mind. As time elapsed, haw tries reflecting on himself. Afterwards, he is tempted to enter in the Maze to land new cheeses, though the fronting road is zigzag and obscure. Haw experiences fear, disappointment, acceptance and happy in the Maze, during the time of which he once encourages Hem to go out his familiar territory but Hem decides to maintain the current situation. Finally, Haw enters Cheese Station N, gathering with Sniff and Scurry, summary written on the wall which is what he learns in the search …show more content…

From my perspective, I aware that I am haw who knows his present situation and who hopes to make change but he experiences a long struggle to find a new cheese station. I am as hesitating whether my choice to go abroad is right or not when my classmates are engaging to land internship as haw enters to the Maze without any cheese at first while hem stays in the old station with little cheese. Now, I am experiencing fear. As haw writing on the wall, what would you do if you do not afraid? It is not uncommon that people will feel fear to a new things, for it means unknown results. However, if we do not make change, we will gradually bored with old objects and are infused with fear for novel ones. When we decide to move with change, the first is to counter the fear lingering in your mind. Move with change empowers us to deal with varied emergencies. "Life moves on. And so should we" (Johnson, 360). When we can embrace change and take actions, cheese will come by itself. Notwithstanding, familiar territory can make us feel comfortable and safe, it is not long before that this cheese will turn spoiled. Only in new stations do we grow up quickly. If we move with change, it means always going forward. After dealing with sorts of changes, when we confront the same change as we experienced, we will not afraid of changing.
