The film “Enough” was released on May 24, 2002 making a profit of 51.8 million dollars. The movie has a big impact on women that were or are being physically and mentally abused. The main character Slim, focuses not only on protecting her child, but herself from her abusing cheating husband. Throughout the movie, Slim shows that abuse in a relationship can happen to anyone even to people who think would never happen to them. However, there is a point in her life where Slim reflects she’d had enough and decides to take care of the problem herself.
In the beginning of the movie she projects a strong, independent woman, she had a job and looked like a woman who no one could mess with. Furthermore, she marries Mitch, a man that she meets and falls in love with, at the restaurant she worked as a waitress in. He bought her a house and they finally had a little girl together to complete their perfect family. Formerly, things started to change, and she started noticing strange behaviors on him. Eventually, she decides to face him after finding out he was cheating on her, and that is when the nightmare begins. Slim feels excited and at the same time scared of finally finishing and closing this chapter in her life. When she finally confronts him he, tries to attack her, like she had expected and that is when she shows him the new skills she had learned. Previously, Slim had educated herself about making the scenery look like she was defending herself if anything would happen to her or him. At the end of the fight, Slim kills Mitch defending herself and the police gets there when everything is over. She meets with her daughter again, and Slim can finally be free and continue with her life without fear or worries about being abused by Mitch ever
