The Bible teaches that the proof of faith, what faith is based on, is evidence. What is the evidence? Evidence means proof and proof means evidence. It is the testimony, validity, experience, test, and/or the quality of having being tested or tried. The trial or test that a person has been through or is going through where there seemed to be or seems to be no end. The long suffering, the experience of that test or trial, and the outcome of that test and trial and 100 percent of the time it is a positive outcome and the proof is their testimony, the proof is their walk and what they did through their walk, where they put their Faith, their evidence, their proof. The evidence or proof is the assurance in the Word of Yahweh is based upon …show more content…
faith, our faith. The Scriptures never speaks of the assurance of love, or the assurance of works, or the assurance of experience.
The Scriptures only speak of the full assurance of faith as in Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. This faith in Christ is the surety, certainty, infallible evidence, proof, and assurance of Faith. Faith is not the cause of grace, salvation, and eternal life, but faith is the proof and evidence of these things. Faith is the substance of things hoped for". That word "substance" means "faith is the essence, certainty, and assurance of things hoped for". Faith possesses beforehand what Yahweh has promised to give. The scripture says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:47. Yahweh is a faithful Yahweh, He does not give into to us, but He does not give up on us either. We can have Faith in Yahweh’s promises and in Faith we know this because Yahweh is not a Yahweh that he shall lie. In Numbers 23:19 it is written: Yahweh is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Without promises there is nothing to have Faith in, through Faith we hold onto Yahweh’s …show more content…
promises. To have Faith is proof that we want and accept Yahweh’s promises. Yahweh is loyal to us and wants for us to be loyal to Him. So since I have explained proof of Faith I am going to share in the rest of this chapter some stories, some testimonies from family members and friends that faced some adversities and how they overcame those adversities by Faith.
I share these with you in hopes that they will lift you and encourage you in your walk of Faith. There’s nothing better than to show Proof of Faith through those that have uncompromising faith with
Elohim. "And they overcame him, (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." - Revelation 12:11 I am 20 years old; I came from a broken home with only my mother raising me in the home with 4 brothers and 4 sisters. My mother worked two jobs to provide for our family. My father took off at when I was an early age. So I then had a lot of free time on my hands with no one to supervise me. When I was 15 years old I had this stupid ambition to be a gangster. Then when I turned 16 I dropped out of school. I ended up joining a gang then there I experienced all kinds of bitterness like gang wars, using drugs and having sex everyday. My job through my gang was to steal cell phones to sell to other people so that is how we came to buy liquor and drugs. In the interim I would join in with my brothers of my gang to initiate other gang members and beat up rival gang members to the point that my anger would take over and I would beat up my rival until nearly dead. I did this until I was about 17 years old. I kept thinking in my head hanging out with the gang, “Is this the type of life that you want to lead?” “Do you want to end up dead?” “Why am I doing this?” So my heart was open at that time for change. The life I was living was not fulfilling to me. Was not what I was searching for.
Of the various answers to this question, I'll start out with "faith cannot exist alongside doubt." The two ARE mutually exclusive. This goes with the fact that complete faith means just that. Faith means "complete confidence that a person or a plan etc" (according to WordNet). To us, to have faith you cannot doubt. One example of this would be when Owen keeps asking John whether or not the statue is there, even though he can't see it through the fog. John's only answer is "I just know it." Owen replies with "that's how I feel about God." Now, John's "belief" is based on the fact that he's seen the statue in this position before, and he reasons that it could not have moved since he last saw it. Owen takes it a step farther and calls it faith.
... leaving me. That every thing is a blessing we just have to look for the good even if it does not seem like a blessing at the time. That souls are more important than anything else that is physical in this world. And that we are made to be disciples of God to lead those who are lost and without light to the Lord. When I think about the times that we begin to think God has forsaken us it is usually us not looking for God it is us who have blinded our own selves and that Jesus is standing there waiting on us to lay everything before Him. Corrie and Elie made me realize that I need Jesus to be the center of my world that I need a firm relationship with Him before anything else. That God will never leave me. And no matter how scared I may get, no matter how many struggles and fears I face, I need to know who I truly believe in and who I truly trust God will never leave.
Kelly James Clark, who is a former Professor of Philosophy at Calvin College, wrote “Without Evidence or Argument” which is published in Reason and Responsibility: Readings in Some Basic Problems of Philosophy. The article starts off with the scenario of a stranger giving a man a note that his wife is cheating on him. However, there is no evidence and her behavior has not changed at all, how should he react? Does he take the note as complete truth and confront her or should he find security in the trust that he has built up with his wife over the past years together (Feinberg 138)? Clark uses this example, as well as others, to bring attention to the connection between significant beliefs and evidence. Furthermore, Clark goes on to state his
Faith is the way an individual responds to the grace of God. Faith is only possible through God and cannot be obtained without God. “Faith is the appropriate way, in which humans respond to the provenience, justifying, and sanctifying grace of God. Human being can and must be collaborators with God in the great work of redemption”(p. 78, Campbell and Burns). Wesley believe that sanctification is by faith and that faith is only possible through the grace of God towards us.
Now I am going to put the Old Testament to the test to see if it has credibility to be the trustworthy document that it claims. "Religion, if it is worth believing, must be based on facts. Yes, there is room for faith, but unless it is faith in facts, faith is not only useless but destructive .The Bible cannot afford to have historical errors.
Just because there is not evidence does not mean that is evidence he does not exist. I do not believe that people believe in god, just because they do believe that god exist, but because it gives them something that others cannot. It brings people together and gives people hope in the worst of times, and it can fill voids in peoples lives that are rather impossible to fill. It also gives them a reason to live, and live moral ones at that. However, this is also a problem in the discussion of th...

The definition of faith is, as a strong belief or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. The fact that someone has faith doesn’t mean that they won’t face difficult circumstances, such as renunciation, the loss of a loved one, or deception; rather they trust in their god or gods to carry them through their troubling circumstances to the other side. The Great Aten, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Hebrew Bible all includes, aspects of faith; including creation, love, and the loss of a life.
Upon reading Will to Believe, there is no doubt we will all begin to question how we’ve gotten to our beliefs and why we believe what we do. William James argues against forced beliefs and expresses the importance of choice. The idea of choice is one I strongly agree with. Although we are easily influenced by others, when it comes to beliefs free will must come into play. As far as the science method, which I have discussed, a belief is just as valid whether there is evidence or not because most scientific methods will never be one hundred percent proven and they will change over
This is proven when Professor Dawkins said that faith is without evidence because there is no evidence we call it faith. Nonetheless, Dr. Lennox responded with “ I presume you have faith in your wife, or do you have any evidence for that?” Professor Dawkins then returned with “ Yes plenty of evidence, I…” Professor Dawkins was instantly caught off guard by promptly counter his preceding
In exploring what faith really is, we must remove the stigmatism of being purely religiously based. Faith, in its truest form, is the reliance and complete confidence in a set of principles, standards, person, thing, doctrine, theory—anything that cannot be fully proven. While most of faith appears in a religious context, faith can be used in many different ways and in different subjects. The classic example of a chair comes to mind when exploring the meaning of having faith: scientifically, the person must retain the faith that the chair will hold him up when he sits down. This lies in true in science in discussing the forces of the universe throughout the galaxy, scientists cannot yet understand all the knowledge concerning the forces of space, but scientists have faith in the continuation of the forces and account for what is assumed will happen with the forces.
What is faith? What is truth? Not really an easy question to answer. The line between faith and what is true wears very thin making it nearly impossible to answer those questions. Arthur Miller does some remarkable work in The Crucible to try and show the relationship between both faith and truth. Even though he shows us the relationship between them he also show the distinct difference between the two, but is there really a correct answer? Can we really know what the truth is or who has faith? To realise the truth we must start from the bottom and answer what is faith.
As a student at the University of Portland, who has now spent a semester living amidst the Catholic culture, I have started to think about religion fundamentally different than prior to this year. Theology class has been enlightening. In class, a new external lens of how one can view faith while learning to think critically in the search of truth has been presented. The inquisitiveness in me has led me to ask hard questions regarding myself, my perceptions, my misconceptions, and even some heartfelt convictions while contemplating my faith. I have experienced legitimate struggles. I acknowledge I have ignorant barriers keeping me from totally living a life with God and for God due to the confusion of exactly what that means. “All truths are
