Introduction
Hope is there when you need it the most and when you pray about it good things will happen. Often people give up on prayer. I think we all need a National Prayer Day we all need days of prayer, hearts that are continually shaped and changed by prayer, lives that are loving and bold because of prayer, a nation that comes back to our God with a spirit of prayer that is continually asking for His grace and healing. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin or how to pray. We just know we have a deep ache in our hearts that cries out for God’s mercy, and a longing to see him heal our land. And maybe other times we wonder how effective our prayers even are. It’s my hope and prayer that the United States wakes up and says it 's time

4:13). This hope is only available to the believers, for it is a reciprocal relationship between the Christian and Christ. Christian 's’ hope is not wishful thinking they will go to heaven, but a firm assurance that God has promised to be with them in this life, and to give them eternal life in heaven when they die. Our hope is confident because we have eternal life (Titus 1:2;3:7); our salvation is secure (1 Thess. 5:8). We will meet Christ at His appearing (Titus 2:13); our bodies will be resurrected (Acts 23:6; 26:6-7). And our bodies will be transformed and glorified to live with God forever (Phil. 3:21; 1 Cor. 15:51-59) (Towns, pg. 151). Biblical hope is a reality and not a feeling. Biblical hope carries no doubt. Biblical hope is a sure foundation upon which we base our lives, believing that God always keeps His promises. Hope or confidence assurance can be ours when we trust His word so, there must be no wavering, and doubting. You must trust God to do what he says He will do. Doubt is a distraction from the enemy. Put your foot down on the thoughts and actions that Satan tries to use to deceive you. Satan is powerful, But He is not God! He may be stronger than most all created beings, but he must stand mute when the Almighty God of the universe speaks on our behalf (Praxis: Beyond Theory, Pg. 206). Your hope will carry you through circumstances and situation that doubt will leave you stranded. Let’s encourage one another to continue doing good for the sake of the kingdom. When it comes to raising our kids with a biblical foundation, we’re not in it alone. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up (1 Thes
We live in a world that is always changing and as such creates inequality and suffering. Many people feel the need to change this and hope for a better world. Even though people have different religions and beliefs, we all have some hope, which motivates us to wake up everyday and make a difference in this world. Hope is what brings us together to fight for a common cause. As Duncan-Andrade explains throughout his article, “Note to Educators: Hope Required When Growing Roses in Concrete,” it is not enough to hope for a better future, especially for young people of color because hoping will not bring the needed change we expect.
“Hope is defined as the action of wishing or desiring that something will occur.” Hope helps people move forward in life to see what’s coming next for them. For example, “I had no right to let myself die. What would he do without me? I was his sole support” (Wiesel, “Night”.) This quote explains the effects of hope in a pitiful situation. Eliezer Wiesel and his father were torn apart, mentally and physically from everything they
The Day of Mourning Protest, held in Sydney’s Australian Hall on the 26th of January, 1938, was an event organised by the Aborigines Progressive Organisation (APO) in a call for Aboriginal civil rights. It was held on the symbolic sesquicentenary of the British landing at Sydney Cove, as the day represented 150 years of Aboriginal suffering under the Whitemen. All “Aborigines and Persons of Aboriginal Blood” were invited to attend (APO, 1938 in BGGS, 2017, pg. 23).
...e that hopefulness does not equal the ability to change reality. Instead, it is a desire for a favorable outcome. Hope can help create understanding for the past, provide a balm for the present and create an enthusiasm for the future. Strength can be found in times of weakness through hope. Without it, life is meaningless.
Hope, by definition means to look forward to something with reasonable desire and confidence. Hope also means a person or thing in which expectations are centered. When discussing the word hope, one must consider the core values by which the word works around. You could hope for financial success, world peace, or simply hope for some good out of your day. In 2006, Barack Obama wrote the political biography The Audacity of Hope to outline his core political and spiritual beliefs, as well as his opinions on different aspects of American culture. The Illinois senator divided the book into nine chapters, each concentrating on both his own and the United States’ successes and failures in local and state politics. While revealing great leadership attributes, life experiences, personal qualities and hard facts, largely in anecdotal method, Barack Obama offers realistic, wide and thoughtful responses to today’s current domestic controversies using artistic appeals, such as ethos, pathos and logos. Senator Obama also gives the audience an in-depth analysis of the key policies that need to be changed for both Democrats and Republicans, and delivers an inherent message to offer hope to anyone, regardless of background or experiences. In the prologue, he discusses in great detail virtually every major political issue facing the American electorate today, offering his opinions and possible strategies for reform. “My motivation in entering politics was to cut through decades of polarizing partisanship and develop a moderate, effective approach to our government.” (Barackopedia.org). Obama notes that this same impulse, an impulse of a secure, functional and sustainable administration, prompted him to write The Audacity of Hope.
Hope is the expectation and the desire for an event to happen. For many people, having hope is to see a reality with a positive feeling. From hope, faith comes in. Having faith in something unrealistic motivates people to keep moving forward and try the best of their abilities to make something happen. Most of today’s religions, especially Christianity, based most of their doctrine on the faith of salvation from Jesus Christ‘s sacrifice and the hope of living for eternity, if we obey the laws of God in accordance with the Bible.
Throughout biblical history , the idea of hope morphed. It began as confidence that God would provide the necessities of life - food, water, and land; protection from danger - not only as an individual but also as a group; justice - the righteous would be rewarded and the wicked would be punished; and community – God would always be there for His chosen people, and they would live in peace with other humans. However, the ways in which God would provide these four parts of hope changed in the New Testament. Characterizing this change, the Oxford Companion to the Bible says,
Prayer in School: Good or Bad? As secular humanists and groups like the Christian Coalition are at war with each other regarding prayer in high schools behind closed doors in Washington DC, the average high school kid is the one that gets caught in the middle. For years now there has been a heated debate about whether or not prayer should be allowed in school. Every time the argument is rekindled, it ends in a stalemate, and is a topic that campaigning politicians tend to stay away from.
It can help the achievement of extraordinary things and push people to new heights never before seen. Hope is an idea, something inside the minds and hearts of those pursuing it. It is a concept, yet it wields limitless power. It can be seen in every essence
Over these past few weeks I've realized the power of prayer & the power of my mother's prayers.
Have you ever questioned yourself about what weighs more on the scale? Hope or fear? Could fear, the belief that something is dangerous or threatening, really overpower hope? Fear, which leads to over awareness and too many extra precautions can’t possibly be stronger than hope. Hope gives a person something to look forward to if they set a reasonable expectation; while fear usually just offers a very grave insight to the future. Fear always leads to a negative view on events and provides no aid in trying to solve a problem. Usually fear even makes problems seem worse than they actually are. There are many reasons as to why hope is stronger and provides more of aid than fear, but the three strongest views on this statement are that,
On July 5, 2005 I entered the United States of America. At the age of 6, I was placed a grade lower than I was supposed to be in. During the first few years in the U.S, I had to work extra hard to catch up. English was a challenge among my family. It had always been hard to watch my parents struggle with English and made me realize how valuable education was. It inspired me to learn and strive for academic success from a young age.
Once one obtains this hope, the difficulty of Christianity shifts from the foolishness of believing myths to the stupidity of doing what they say. This is my challenge, for God has revealed His will plainly and has promised to help His adopted children understand His Word, the Bible. Once a person agrees to accept the entire Bible as God presents it in the Bible, the test of faith (or mere hope) comes. A mere hoper won't bother (or dare) to keep exactly what God says; a person with true faith will not only try but succeed when he does.
The American hope for the future is that people wish there could be more hope and love in the world. When people think about hope they think something impossible. But if one person alone could start the change then it could become global. The only thing about one person starting it is that everyone is to busy or to afraid to try. In this speech I am going to try to persuade you to change your mind.
Paul tells us to “fight the good fight of faith” (Tim. 6:12). We must not hold on to unbelief. When we give ourselve...
