There are numerous of ways growing up in poverty can affect children positively or negatively and in their future. Their parents can not afford for medical things like a flu shot, birth control, or go to the eye doctor. This can affect the health of children that are in poverty. “Growing up in a community with gangs, dangerous streets, discouraging role models, confused social expectations, and few connections to outsiders commanding resources is a burden for any child” (Fischer, “Growing Up Poor Has Effects on Your Children Even If You Escape Poverty.”).Also, being in poverty you are more attempting to become unhealthy because all over the healthy stuff like salad and etc cost more. Being surround by fast food restaurants such as Mcdonald’s, Taco Bell, Jack-in-the-box etc. Knowing that teenage pregnancy rates are high in any class, the majority is in poverty. But you would not think that because they would have no money
In most of his song named “Dear Mama” in his first verse he says,” I shed tears with my baby sister, over the years, We was poorer than the other little kids”. This shows that you can create a better and closer bond with your family because you are all going through something together and can help each other out for any circumstance. He also says, “You always was committed, a poor single mother on welfare, tell me how you did it”. Reading this quote can make you think that you would to have a strong mindset to be able to leave day by day hoping for better.

In conclusion, growing up in poverty is something that you can take advantage of like being able to become independent, growing a bond with your family, and perhaps become more spiritually.. But it can also be disadvantaged because you are being surround by a negative environment which can impact your way of thinking mentally and can be draining
