Where they are from A black man that’s falls in love with planes and would never give on his dream to become a pilots from everyone and everything that got in his way didn’t stop him that’s what I really love about him and glad to tell the story of the furthermost man ever to change history for black people who has a dream to fly and this is the story of Benjamin O. Benjamin O Davis was the first ever to solo Army Air Corps Aircraft and that year had to be a lucky year for him because he was promoted lieutenant colonel, and the same year he was the commander of the all-black air unit the 99th pursuit squadron. Davis was called to back to the USA to take command 332nd fighter group , a larger all-black group to go oversea. Davis and his 332nd fighter went to Italy soon after everything that happen when they were trying to get rid of the all-black squadron but Benjamin O Davis had to fight for his all-black squadron and he won, but later arriving to Italy the were later call the red tail because of there tails. Benjamin O Davis took over the 477th bombardment group. all through the war, the airmen commanded by Davis had compiled an exceptional record in combat against the Luftwaffe. They flew more than 15,00 sorties, shot down 111 enemy planes, and destroyed or damaged 273 on the ground at a cost of 66 of their own planes and losing only about twenty-five bombers. Davis himself led dozens of missions in P-47 Thunderbolts and P-51 Mustangs. He received the Silver Star for a strafing run into Austria and the Distinguished Flying Cross for a bomber-escort mission to Munich on June 9, 1944.
