Fleeing away from my fears and my problems, I went for a run. The wind blows violently, but I fight with every will in my tiny 100-pound body. I ran for what seemed like an eternity, but 50 minutes later, I collapsed. Gasping for air, ferociously wheezing, and muscles cramping, I swore I was on my death bed yet I felt at peace not just with myself but with Mother Nature who I had just conquered and with Father Time who justified my means of preserving each moment. Everyone nowadays is trying to lose weight or become healthier so it can reflect on their lifestyle and the number one activity they do is run. The last time I did not run for consecutive days, was during Middle School. Running has been a very powerful tool for me, and the joy it brings is something I carry. Another concept I have learned from my participation in running is teamwork. No matter how hard we try, we cannot live our lives without others' help or without helping others. We must work together to succeed on the road ahead. This is the essence of teamwork. I know that even my personal success in cross-country and track is not solely mine. I know that my three district titles, one in cross country and two in track, in the 800 meter and 1600 meter runs, could not have been accomplished without my team's unequivocal support and for that, I thank them.
