One of the toughest topics for me to talk about is religion. To me, religion feels more like following then just living. Spirituality allows one to live without fear of being punished or sinned. Equally important. Spirituality allows one to be who they want to be without feeling judged. Ultimately, spirituality is not only a sense of freedom but a sense of individualism. I was baptized as a baby but wasn’t necessarily religious growing up. Being baptized as a baby automatically meant identified as a Christian. Growing up, my family didn’t attend church regularly. Consequently, this has left me confused and has resulted in a lack of education about religion. With that said, I have found a connection to spirituality. Spirituality has allowed me to choose what I want to believe in rather than be told what to believe in. In addition, spirituality has shown me the path that I am destined to be on. Spirituality is a sense of freedom; I can think freely, act freely and oversee what path my life is on. If there is a time in my life when I feel I'm at a dead end; I use spirituality to follow my heart or what feels right at that moment. Spirituality was introduced to me while I was in high school. High school was a never-ending nightmare for me. With that, I began to see a life coach a couple times a week. After just a couple short sessions, I began to feel a connection with what she was saying. In short, I learned that one cannot expect love unless you love yourself first. I noticed, the more I forced things, they wouldn’t happen. After finally letting things happen, I met my fiancé.
