My top five gifts, talents, and abilities are: Leading, Coaching, Selling, Athletics, and Executing. Some of these I did not expect, selling and executing are not two things that I would have guessed to be my top talents. However, These two talents are things that I strive in. From a young age, I have been a salesman. From selling sandwiches at lunchtime in middle school, to selling water bottles at the outdoor basketball court in high school, I have always found a way to make money by selling things. I would also consider myself a great executer, this has helped me in the work force my entire life so far. My employers have always felt comfortable with giving me a task and considering it done. I am a very efficient person and this helps a lot …show more content…
It was very interesting when I found that my top three passions are things that I am lacking in my life currently. My first passion is basketball; I have loved basketball since I was in the second grade and this is the first year that I have not played. I came to Colorado Christian University to play basketball but after two years of being a college athlete God had different plans. I struggle with this because I am so passionate about basketball; there is nothing in the world that makes time pass like playing basketball does. This year I have started coaching basketball, which has helped me to fulfill that passion, but it is still hard to not be playing. My second biggest passion is where I am from, New Jersey. I lived in New Jersey for 18 years, 10 minutes from the ocean. I have lived in Colorado for two years now and I hate it. I miss the beach, I miss the nightlife, I miss the boardwalk, I miss the fast-paced culture, and I miss the arrogantly rude people. The beach is something that has always been very important to me; living so close to it, the beach had always been a happy place of rest. I miss everything about New Jersey. I lived 45 minutes from Philadelphia and an hour from New York City, I can’t imagine living in a better …show more content…
Many people spend their lives wondering what their purpose on earth is, but for now, I understand my own. My life purpose is to lead and support a family with tradition. This is very interesting to me because I do not have my own family yet. As I thought more about my life purpose statement, it became more clear to me why it is, what it is. There are two men in my life that I have looked up to and tried to follow their leads, those two men are my dad and my Pop-Pop. Neither of these men ever had the greatest job in the world, they never had the nicest car on the street, and they never put themselves first. These two men have the largest hearts for family that I have ever seen. For 50 years my Pop-Pop was a barber, he brought home just enough money to support his family and never had anything extra for himself. However, that is not what made him special, his family never knew that they were poor, they never knew that my Pop-Pop skipped a meal everyday and this is because he did it willingly. Family was the most important thing in his life; he did not care about his social status. His family was always put first and that was his life purpose; he led his family. The same goes for my dad, just not to the same extreme. My dad worked three jobs and barely slept for the first five years of his marriage. He didn’t have a glamorous job or any extras but his life purpose was, and still is, to support his family. He does it willingly
My hobbies are watching or playing different sporting events. I enjoy mentoring the youth and working with them to develop skills that they can care with them throughout life. I love giving back to the less fortunate
For my passion project I made cookies, but not just any cookies, I made cotton candy cookie. There were many ups and a downs while making these cookies, but they all payed off in the end. I learned many things during this passion project. For example I learned why I wanted to make these cookies, I made three of my own recipes and learned some really cool facts!
To define one's purpose is at the very least human nature and at the very most the meaning of life. Humans seek the significance of existence and try to define it in many ways. There are thousands of religions and countless seminars to help people discover the point of human existence. The idea that we may all be irrelevant in the grand scheme of life or to the universe is not a popular position. In his short story "The Open Boat" Stephen Crane shows a universe that is unconcerned with the struggles of four men within a small boat lost at sea. Through the characters' experiences Crane shows the human struggle to survive as viewed in a naturalistic perspective as opposed to other prevalent 19th Century concepts.
Two things I am passionate about is art and sports. I have been doing different sports my whole life. I have done Soccer, T-Ball, XC, Track, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, and I even tried Golf. I only stayed with some of the sports like basketball and volleyball. XC and track our new to me this year and so far I love them. I love the competitiveness about sports and the satisfaction of winning. I have played basketball basically my whole life, and it's my favorite sport. I remember playing in 3rd and 4th in an inhouse league and I thought it was so fun. Now I get to play for the school and it's amazing. I had a extremely good season this year in volleyball and a good one is basketball. In basketball we only lost 4 times, but lost in Regionals to Germantown (who later became State Champs). In volleyball we had one loss in the Eureka invitational( I know for a fact we could've won). Then we won Regionals, Sectionals and then STATE!! So volleyball went pretty
Some people spend their lives complaining that there 's “no meaning to life”. They live their life not caring about others around them, themselves, etc. However, once they accomplish something, such as saving someone’s life or becoming a mom, they may finally feel that their life has a meaning. Those that aim and success are more likely to miss it and not feel accomplished with what they did. These would be the women that are told they can’t have children. Or someone who wants to be a doctor but continues to fail the entrance exam. Viktor Frankl said “...I want you to listen to what your conscience commands you to do and go on to carry it out to the best of your knowledge. Then you will live to see that in the long run, success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about
Many people wonder: what is the meaning of life? What is the human purpose on this earth? At least one time in our lifetime, we all look at ourselves and wonder if we are living our lives the way we were meant to live them. Sadly, there is not a definite answer to the principles of human life. Every human comes from different backgrounds and different experiences throughout their existence.
Throughout my life, I always had an idea of what my purpose in life was. I believe everyone has a
My strengths include an uncanny open-mindedness and an unrelenting kindness and gratitude towards my fellow humans. If I was to ever have any true weaknesses trying to hard is the first one. My need to be a perfectionist sometimes gets the best of me; I strive for excess in all areas of my life. I think it is of the most importance to understand your strengths and weakness. I’ve improved my strengths through exposure and emphasis. From the beginning I always found a passion in my school’s Gay-Straight Alliance, I went on to lead them for the last two years. I am an exceptional member of my school’s National Honor’s Society, and I have done more than what is expected of me at my job at Hy-Vee and have been proud to do so. My abilities and performances have taught me a lot throughout life and I have discovered who I am and what I can be. I have found that I am a leader. I have found that I am in control of the situations I find myself in. I’ve grown throughout my trials by finding the lesson in every circumstance. I am adaptable and continually grow from my misgivings. I choose to see the glass half full and see in the positive. Every weakness that I have is a strength waiting to be built upon. To uphold these standards for myself I will need to draw upon all that I
An interest that brings me joy is soccer. I consider it to be my main sport because I have spent a lot of time playing the sport. I like playing soccer because it is also very dynamic and is a sport that is fast-paced. I play for the California Magic Soccer Club, which is a competitive soccer club. Our team practices for about two hours, three days a week. We also have games on the weekends. Soccer brings me a lot of joy because I get to play with a team and play against other opponents. Playing soccer with a team is enjoyable because I get to play with others that also love soccer. It is fun competing against my teammates in scrimmages and different drills. Playing at a competitive level in soccer is fun as the stakes are higher and there
Everyone has a purpose and a calling in life, and it is our duty to find what that
I truly believe that every single person in the world has a purpose in life. God created each and every one of us for a reason. Whether we know it or not our life is planned and we follow a path throughout our life. In this path, we have the option to make good decisions or bad decisions. In order to achieve salvation and enter a virtuous after life we had to do deeds that had a positive impact on other people. In order to do this though, one must have the self-discipline and devotion to God. There are many obstacles that can get in the way of achieving this goal and the main one is our desires. Desire is a strong feeling of something we want or wish to have. Our desire negatively impacts our life because it detaches our body both physically and emotionally from our mind which then influences us to make morally wrong decisions.
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.
One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
My interests are gauged by how much time I spend in each of them. I spend time on my personal relationship with Christ (greatest interest), computing, writing, performing trumpet, and cycling, in order.
Many people have a stage in their life when they stop for a moment and think “what am I here to do?”. For me that stage in life had arrived a long time ago. I was about fourteen years old, I felt alone, I felt scared, but most of all I felt useless I didn't know in what direction my life was going. I kept asking the Lord to show me, to lead me to what he wants me do to and to shape me into who he wants me to be. When I say purpose most people think about the career I want to have, while having a career is important to me. I feel like that still doesn't complete my purpose. I want to do more for us, for humanity, for our future. I believe my ultimate purpose in life is to help people in need of attention and affection. I think that the Lord has put me through difficult obstacles in life so that I could help the people that went through or are going through the same things that I have left in my past. My motivation for doing this is first of all is knowing that this is what God wants me to do, and knowing that he is blessing me. And then of course is helping the people, seeing their smiles and telling them that they are not alone and that I understand them. And will help them with whatever I can. What I do to achieve my purpose is that I go to many centers, and meet people, mostly children that have been through any kind of abuse.
