Way of Life in Nicaragua
Most Nicaraguans are mestizos. That is that they have white and
Indian ancestors. Their way of life is somewhat similar to that of Spanish
Americans in other Central American countries. Most people belong to the
Roman Catholic Church and speak Spanish. Most of Nicaragua's people are
poor farmers. Many of those in the Pacific Region are peasants who work on
their own farms, cooperatives, state farms, or large private farms. In
warmer areas, agriculture workers live in metal roofed houses. In the
colder areas of the Central Highlands, they live in adobe houses with tile
roofs.
The only Indian groups in Nicaragua that follow their own languages
and their old ways of life are in the thinly populated Caribbean Region. In
the early 1980's some of these Indians became involved in anti-government
things. Because of this, the government moved some Indian groups from
their homes near the border to areas in the interior of Nicaragua.

According to its first definition of the word, a nerd is a "foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious." That sounds about right. But Oxford's first definition of geek is synonymous: "An unfashionable or socially inept person." Oxford's second definitions of both words are also synonymous, nerd as "an intelligent, single-minded expert in a particular technical discipline or profession" and geek as "a person with an eccentric devotion to a particular interest. (Goldsborough, 2010)
The early years of colonial Mexico were a time of great change, as the native Indian populations were decimated by disease and increasingly dominated by the Spanish social and economic structure. Under the encomienda system, the initial flood of Spanish immigrants were provided with a support structure in New Spain, as the Indians’ land and labor were put at their disposal in exchange for moral guidance.[3] As Spain sought to reap the benefits of its new colony, the need for dependable labor in Mexico’s agr...

I was born in Guatemala in a city called, called Guatemala City. Life in Guatemala is hard which is why my parents brought me into the United States when I was eight months old. Some of the things that makes life in Guatemala hard is the violence. However, Guatemala has plenty of hard working men, women, and children who usually get forced to begin working as soon as they are able to walk. However, unlike many other countries, Guatemala has a huge crime rate. I care about the innocent hard working people that live in Guatemala and receive letters, threatening to be killed if they do not pay a certain amount of money at a certain amount of time.
Guatemala’s culture is a unique product of Native American ways and a strong Spanish colonial heritage. About half of Guatemala’s population is mestizo (known in Guatemala as ladino), people of mixed European and indigenous ancestry. Ladino culture is dominant in urban areas, and is heavily influenced by European and North American trends. Unlike many Latin American countries, Guatemala still has a large indigenous population, the Maya, which has retained a distinct identity. Deeply rooted in the rural highlands of Guatemala, many indigenous people speak a Mayan language, follow traditional religious and village customs, and continue a rich tradition in textiles and other crafts. The two cultures have made Guatemala a complex society that is deeply divided between rich and poor. This division has produced much of the tension and violence that have marked Guatemala’s history (Guatemalan Culture and History).
I always live as a Guatemalan for the last 15 years, it was hard when I had to move from my country to another that was very different than mine and find out that in this new country is a different languages and different cultures. Maybe for the first time that I was walking to the school, I feel like I was in Guatemala people with the same skin color as me, but when I heard them talked I heard a new word, different accents and I realized that everything was chance.
The four principal rivers, the San Juan, Coco (Wanks), Grande, and Escondido, empty into the Caribbean. The natural resources of Nicaragua are primarily agricultural. Deposits of volcanic material have enriched the soil, which is extremely fertile. About half the land is covered with forests. The country has deposits of gold, silver, and copper.

I would have to admit that at the age of 20, I still knew very little about insurance. Coming from a different country, I had no idea that one could insure belongings or people. Today, I know that insurance acts as a safety net. It is there to help cope with the unanticipated and sometimes even the loss of a beloved one. The general notion behind insuring your treasured possessions and cherished ones can be of a vast benefit at the time of a tragedy. As we grow older, we actively begin to concern ourselves more about the future of our family rather than the latest trends in fashion or gadgets.

The feature film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, directed by Andrew Adamson is a fantasy film which relates the adventures of the four Pevensie children in a mystical land. The film explores the Christian theme of sacrifice and the ideals of family love, loyalty and the triumph of good over evil. Aslan, Peter and Edmund Pevensie function to develop these themes. Through the filmic language used to construct the characters Adamson reveals the importance of being brave, unselfish and loving.
The wardrobe is significant for several other reasons. First, one cannot reach Narnia if he or she is seeking to either prove or disprove its existence. When Lucy brings her siblings to the wardrobe with the express goal of proving Narnia's existence, t...
The stakeholders are the photo editors, the brand being sold or the magazine brand and the viewers. The editors and the brand are the ones to “blame” when the image is retouched to an unrealistic extreme. The viewers are bombarded with images which they cannot tell if are real or manipulated.
In fact, an article from CTV News (2015) mentions that an experiment carried out by Fractyl requests “18 female graphic designers to Photoshop the image of a model to reflect what they felt would make the image more attractive to the citizens of their country.” (CTV News, 2015). The results vary from country to country: the graphic designer from the United States slimmed the model and added curves to the woman’s body while the British designer altered the model into a much slimmer body image. The most drastic alteration of body images is done by a graphic designer from China who submitted an image of the model who approximately weighs less than 100 pounds with an unhealthy BMI of 17 (CTV News, 2015). Sullivan (2014) states that in 2006, the Dove Company released the Evolution video which released the truth behind a model’s photoshoot along with the transformation and alteration she goes through with the use of photo manipulation. From the before and after picture of the model, viewers can notice how the flaws of the models are airbrushed into perfection. Sullivan (2014) writes that at the end of the video, the Dove Company leaves the message, “No wonder our image of beauty is distorted.” The video filmed in 2006 gained much support as well as “examination and scrutiny of the advertising industry and their use of digital imaging tools to alter photographs.” (Sullivan,
