Mount Rainier is the most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and is approximately 500,000 years old (The Cardinal). Although Mount Rainier is considered to be an active volcano because of its lahar flow, it is currently in resting state. The last eruption of this massive volcano occurred more than 115 years ago in 1884.

In a country containing so much diversity and history, it is practically impossible to locate one city which embodies American diversity. A colony started by the French was
Washington D.C: Our Nation’s Capital Although the entire world is familiar with the City of Washington as the United State’s capital, the city was nonexistent when we became a nation in 1789. Thanks to the brilliant design of the French born engineer, Pierre Charles L’Enfant and his assistants Benjamin Banneker and Andrew Ellicot, our capital city that was once a swamp now is beautiful with many different parks, gardens trees, tall buildings and wide avenues. Washington, District of Columbia named after Christopher Columbus, has played a unique role in the wars of our nation and has been dramatically affected by their awesome events.
Similar to real life we have symbols that signify power, and Washington D.C. is a good example of that. Wiebenson goes into great detail about the power of symbols on Pennsylvania Avenue, “These few examples show more than the power of symbols which encourage a citizenry to respect its government. They also demonstrate the growing strength of local interests and the intent to have the city symbolize that residents are also people. The battles recorded here show that national symbols still have great power.” (Wiebenson 20) He believes that the power of symbols is not only about respecting its government but how each symbol demonstrates the growing strength of the people in it. Although there are no major buildings in the novel, the conch shell, Piggy’s glasses and the fire show how symbols wield different amounts and kinds of power. When each is destroyed there is a weakening in the power one can get from them. The use of symbols is crucial to this novel, thus, William Golding helps shows us that an object is so much more powerful than it may first
“ The Big Little City,” also commonly know as the city of Pittsburgh, is one of the largest cites in the state of Pennsylvania. With over 144 square kilometers of land area, and approximately seven square kilometers of surface water (Pittsburgh Pennsylvania), the city of Pittsburgh is large by anyone’s standard. The city, which is located in western Pennsylvania, has a very diverse geography which sets it apart from many other cities in the United States. Pittsburgh and its suburbs are known for steep hillsides covered with buildings, streets which have steps for sidewalks, and sidewalks which are named streets. From the highest point in Allegheny County, 1,401 feet at River Hill in Forward Township, to the 710 foot normal pool level of the Ohio River at the Point in Pittsburgh, and down to the 682 foot elevation on the banks of the Ohio as it exits the County in the west, the elevation varies by a bit more than 700 feet (Allegheny). Other locations may have greater relief, but they are not as heavily urbanized; other cities may be more densely built, but they will tend to be on gentler terrain than the city of Pittsburgh.
In order to know what the Freemasons might have planned or hidden in the city layout and buildings for Washington D.C. we have to look at where they came from. The Freemasons are the largest and oldest fraternity in the world, being founded in London in 1717. Its members range from presidents, senators, businessmen, ministers, and even common labors. Although they started as a guild in the mid 15th century building cathedrals, they later had to prove their skills and were given a secret handshake and were taught the tricks of the trade. This allowed the Freemasons to move freely from job to job and the handshake acted as a resume to prove their allegiance and skill level. With America being a place of freedom to express yourself, Freemasonry became very popular. In the 1820’s, Freemasonry exploded in the United States. There are roughly 6 million members currently today with 3 million in the United States. As someone advances in Freemasonry they learn secrets of the universe. They take some of these secre...
Los Angeles was the first product off the assembly line of American urban planning. Turned on in the late 19th century, the city-making machine was fueled by an immense immigration of people who sought to create a new type of city out of the previously quaint pueblo. They also strove to craft the first major city developed primarily by Americans and outside of European archetypes. As a result, Los Angles is not only incredibly diverse, but also nearly impossible to define. Since it is a product of the American machine, understanding the community of Los Angeles becomes vital to understanding the United States. But to fully comprehend the present Los Angeles, one must look at the process that created it. Specifically, Los Angeles was created by upper class Anglo citizens of the 20th century, who strove to materialize their imagined reality of a rural city by establishing a process where affluent citizens fled to the suburbs and left the lower class residents their more urban rundown leftovers. This created world then became the setting for resistance from various groups, such as minorities and youth, who began to undermine the Anglo infrastructure through social interaction.
Museums in general are vastly different in what they offer to patrons. Some focus on a specific academic discipline such as science, history, astronomy, and art. Larger museums are afforded the opportunity to house multi-disciplinary displays, the largest of which have entire wings dedicated to each separate field. That said, the largest museums hold significant market share but only locally. Analysing the U.S. as a whole, there is a high number of competitors in the museum industry with low market share concentration. Locally, most of the large museums in Albuquerque are concentrated near the downtown

Although your feet swelter from the continuous walking, you find yourself pressing on with the yearning to discover the 'New York Experience'.
