Ever since I was little I have loved helping out my community. Whether it was by feeding the homeless or cleaning up parks. Volunteering has always interested me in many ways. This past year I have volunteered at so many places to improve my community. Something I am proud of is when I volunteered at Santa's Inc. One day I was in my key club and they had brought this up and asked who would like to sign up. Here I was able to assist mothers who couldn't afford gifts for their children by helping them “shop” for clothes, toys, and books that were free. I played a major role in those women's lives. I am dedicated to helping out our community and school, because it warms my heart and soul. Seneca said in about 40 to 60 A.D. that you should “be silent as to services you have rendered, but speak of favors you have received.” In other words you should not boast about the numerous projects you have accomplished and how much physical work you executed, but rather pride yourself on how you helped people in community and school, and how you have affected their lives with positive means. I feel life is joyous and it should be the feeling everyone illustrates, and this is exactly what keeps me functioning in the stressful world today. I find comfort in helping others to make their lives a little more like heaven and this comfort motivates me to perform copious service projects to the best of my capability whenever I find the time. Time is fair to the rich, the poor, and to every race, because time is equal and gives everyone 24 hours daily to accomplish their required tasks. Because time is so valuable and I am occupied by difficult advanced placement and honor classes and juggle school, clubs, sports, and friends, I joined Key Club, a high school division of the adult service club, Kiwanis. Key Club opened new doors to make every extra minute count towards helping others.
Why I want to volunteer I am directionless. Lost in a sea of people; people who all seem to know what they want to do with their lives. Volunteering can help me find a direction, a path that I want to be on. Assisting patients and workers provides more information on working in a hospital than any course or the internet can provide.
People’s lives are changed every day by their actions and experiences. This past summer, I participated in a community service project, an experience that opened my eyes in many ways. I was a volunteer at the County Memorial Hospital. In my time as a volunteer at the hospital, I was able to meet patients and staff members from all over the world and learn about their life experiences. Listening to all of their stories has made me truly appreciate everything which I have.

Every time I do some kind of service – I have the opportunity to learn new ideas, discover new perspectives and I've have grown as an individual. By giving back I like making people feel as though they matter, and it gives me a good feeling at the end of the day because I feel I have made a difference. I grow as a person each time I do volunteering. Some people do volunteering because they have to, but I do it because I want to. I love volunteering.
For my life to be perfect all I would need to happen would be to earn a full ride scholarship to GCU ( Grand Canyon University), I would get a fun, easy, high paying first job when I'm 16 and it will make me lots of money, and finally once I am able to drive my parents would buy me a Jeep Wrangler in the color black.
I have been told that college is a four year road with endless possibilities. My mom has always told me to get involved at school, whether it be middle school, high school, or college. I plan to be more involved than I was in high school by enrolling in the ROTC program as well as looking for an auto class and an outdoor program. In high school I started freshman year with baseball.
What motivated me to do volunteer work originally were, the service hours and the gains I would acquire from volunteering. I was inspired to pursue the volunteer work at St. Vincent De Paul (an organization helping the poor within the local community), as I live by my faith and through Sunday school the opportunity arose. The work began by my participation in helping the customers with prices and checkouts. I felt this volunteer work was especially significant as it not only provided me with hours and credit for doing it, but also helped the needy through Christian acts.
Thousands of homeless animals are looking for forever homes in America. Volunteering is a great way to give to your community and socialize the animals at the shelters. Working with dogs and cats that have not had good starts in their lives helps them trust again. It helps animals get over the trauma they have had before they went to the shelter. Socializing makes the animal more adoptable and they are given a chance to get forever homes. Volunteer at your local humane society 's and help out the animals like I have worked with in shelters.
A reflection of my volunteering experience can be summarized in two words: Life-changing. It is hard to explain the feelings that occur when you involve yourself in selfless acts for your community, such as volunteering. There is a feeling in your heart that you cannot ignore, maybe it is the happiness you feel or the overflow of emotions in helping others. In other words, it is a feeling in which you want to share with others. Maybe with a friend, maybe a classmate, maybe a family member, or maybe even a stranger. Either way, spreading how life-changing volunteering can be is a great start to making a positive change in your community by simply by involving others.
The emotional benefits of volunteering are an integral part of my personal growth. Volunteering showed me how rewarding is to give back to my community It is important to me to touch the lives of others in a positive way. The truth is that any amount of time we can give is going to be enough to make a significant difference in someone else life. Volunteering has made me find out more about myself because I gained valuable life experiences, met new people and felt like I made a difference.
Volunteer work helps provide opportunities that builds characters and valuable skills used throughout my life. it benefits the recipients and provides experience, skill development, and resume experience for the person who is volunteering. Volunteering doesn't only show all the benefits of working. It can be very beneficial as much can be gained from the opportunity. Volunteering has drastically changed my life through an ongoing impact that has proven to be quite important; I am going to continue it throughout the years.

What first sparked my passion for volunteering was seeing the overjoyed expressions on the faces of who I serve. After I step back and look at the progress I have made in my community I am overwhelmed with satisfaction. All the hard work I have put into the event, from organizing the project to being thanked for my service, adds to my devotion. Being the treasurer of Key Club opened up numerous service projects that I was able take a role in as well as coordinate. As treasurer, I was responsible for running our Chester Food Bank drive.
When I volunteer, it brings a smile to my face. The feeling I have inside of me warms my heart. I love spending my time to help people and my time is not going to waste.
