Vigilante Justice is it good or bad? The book And Then There Were None written by the infamous Agatha Christie, Key Point is the use of vigilante justice. Vigilante justice can be fine if used the right way. There are many circumstances where vigilante justice has been used in the right way. If the cause for this justice has been overlooked by the justice department, and has the potential to cause damage that can be catastrophic to society, vigilante justice should be used. Vigilante Justice is good when it comes to stopping crimes or people that the law can’t stop. Mr. Kent, neighbor of the crack house in question, stated that ''Nobody could sit out on the front porch anymore. The kids couldn't play outside. The police said to wait till something bad happened. Well, we couldn't do that.'' (Wilkerson 1) Mr. Kent took matters into his own hands once the police decided they would only take action once something bad has happened. It was right that he decided that if that house no longer stood the people who distributed the drug would be forced to leave. This act of vigilante justice ended up working because the dealers soon decided they would leave the area. A quote that also proves that people will crack if under pressure is “That's peace – real peace. To come to the end – not to have to go on … Yes, peace …”(Christie ). Macarthur finally came to terms to what he did wrong and decided that he was at peace with the world. Even though some people may say that the police should be able to deal with situations like these sometimes they don’t want to or can’t. A good example even comes from Mr. kent when he states that “The police said to wait till something bad happened. Well, we couldn't do that,'' (Wilkerson 1).
