Both his parents were extremely poor and he was abusive and an alcoholic, while on the other hand his mom ever since a young age had faith in her song and even got him a little guitar which Vicente used to sing to her with. This proves that no matter how much money someone has, they can go a long way with faith in themselves. The challenge that Vicente faced was that in 2012 doctors found a prostate cancer tumor in his liver and because of that he needed a liver transplant. But he rejected it and stated that “I wouldn’t want to sleep with my wife with another man’s liver that could have been a drug user or a homosexual. Which caused a lot of people to stop following what he said, and the way he tried to amend the problem was asking the public for forgiveness. Another challenge was that in 1998 his son Vicentge Jr was kidnapped by Mocha dedos (cut fingers) and in return for his song they asked for a significant amount of money. But since Vicente hesitated, the kidnappers cut his son's fingers and the way he handled the situation was giving the kidnapper the amount they asked for and later on his son came home without fingers but safe. Another significant challenge was that he had a lot of mistresses which caused a lot of arguing with his wife but although he was having affairs the wife said “I don't care if you have mistresses but from my house and out.” And with this Vicente gave her place And the way Vicente resolved this issue was obeying what she asked for and putting in royalty.. The way Mexico and world wide preserved his presence even with him not being here was when Vicente passed away on Dec. 12, which to Mexicans is very important, it is the celebration of the La Virgen de Guadalupe. He used to sing La Guadalupana and as well as sing to her during his many concerts. It
Dia de los reyes magos is on Jan. 5 - Feb. 2 and the day is about the 3 wisemen, But January the 6th is the special day in Mexico….. this day represents the height of the Christmas season. This celebration is where it is stated that the kings, Melchor, Gaspar, and Balthasar, traveled by night all the way from the farthest confines of the Earth to bring gifts to Jesus, whom they recognized as the Son of God. As well as regal, the Three Kings are depicted as wise men, whose very wisdom is proved by their acknowledgement of Christ's divine status. Arrived from three different directions, the kings followed the light provided by the star of Bethlehem, which reportedly lingered over the manger where the Virgin Mary gave birth for many days. In

The Porfirio Diaz first had good intentions for Mexico. He at first bettered Mexico exponentially in his first few years. His main goal for the government was to be more industrial. He thought that agriculture didn’t matter as much as industry. The only problem was that most of the people living in Mexico depended on the agriculture. Diaz was well aware of the problem and ignored the people’s needs. Eventually his popularity started to drop. People where then looking for anyway to take him out of office. Once he realized that his presidency was being threatened; he did everything in his power to ensure he won. That is; until “People started noticing that he was rigging elections” (Source b2).

Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, born as Juana Ramirez de Azbaje, is a well-known extraordinary figure from the colonial period. Sor Juana had a desire for education at such a young age. In the seventeenth century, it was the intellectual midpoint of Spanish colonial America. During this time Mexico City was politically and religiously the center of New Spain; the terrains went from California to Central America. In Latin American history the church and state defined women’s roles, which eventually change over time. Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz articulated her experiences though writing, she broke silence about racial and gender inequality, and her legacy remains today.

The region, previously known as New Granada, had decided to forever sever ties with the Spanish Empire after a series of battles beginning in 1810. Yet, formal political liberty and independence, although common in the minds

The story of Inês de Castro may not compare to that of the Petrichor potion or the Cure for Dragon Pox at a glance, but is none the less important in illustrating how potions can affect a large population in a short period of time.

Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz lived in New Spain during the 17th century. She became a nun so that she could pursue her intellectual interests and she ended up becoming New Spain’s premier Baroque poet. Her education ended at primary school, but she continued to educate herself through reading. Not only was she an intellectual, but she was a nonconformist. Sor Juana was continually challenging the male dominated society that she was living in. She largely advocated the intellectual rights of women. Sor Juana was well known in New Spain and the first thing that helped her gain a sort of celebrity status was her letter of critique of Father Vieyra. After this letter, she was judged and her superiors wanted her “rebellious spirit” to be brought under control (Cruz ). Sor Juana’s rebellious spirit grew stronger every time she was challenged. For example, when Fernández de Santa Cruz wrote her a letter under a female pseudonym, Sor Juana chose to respond by “reinventing” her feminine side since Santa Cruz was attacking her presence in the male order (Cruz). Her letter, Response to Sor Filotea, represented her lifelong struggle for individual expression and it was in support of secularism. Sor Juana knew that her search for knowledge would bring her glory but it would also be her downfall. Her poems deal with many topics including the “shallowness of social behavior” and the “vulnerability of women to male demands” (Cruz).
The history of political instability in Mexico and its need for revolution is very complex and dates back to the colonization of Mexico by the Spaniards in the 1500s. However, many aspects of the social situation of Mexico when the Revolution broke out can be attributed to the thirty-year dictatorship of President Porfrio Diaz, prior to 1911. The Revolution began in November of 1910 in an effort to overthrow the Diaz dictatorship. Under the Diaz presidency, a small minority of people, primarily relatives and friends, were in ...
Carlos Fuentes was born on November the eleventh, nineteen twenty-eight; he was the son of a Mexican diplomat. Carlos was very well educated; he attended schools in Washington D.C., later went on to get a law degree from the University of Mexico in Mexico City, and even studied abroad at the Institute of Advanced International Studies in Geneva. He was always inspired by writing; his law degree was merely a way to satisfy his parents. His parents did not see a future in being a writer. Fuentes was also a very well rounded traveler, because of his fathers career Fuentes was able to get a look at other cultures and governments. His travels took him throughout Mexico, the United States, Cuba, into Europe, and most importantly throughout Latin America. He was able to come to understand how governments worked, the way big business used people for their own wealth and power. Fuentes was rather disgusted by corrupt governments and big businesses and actively stood up for what he believed was right. He was very liberal and at one point even joined the communist party. He used his writings to display to people from around the world the way that business and government used and betrayed the average citizen. He was revolutionary in the way he was able to use characters in his writings to disclose the big picture and history of his own home land, the country of Mexico.
