2017 marks more than just a new year, it marks a new President and new opportunities for veteran-owned businesses to grow. Here are two goals to help your veteran-owned business grow this year.
1) Find Your Why
It's easy to know what a business has for sale or how they complete their services; why they do what they do, on the other hand, can be more difficult to pin down. Doing so, however, can trigger an emotional response in potential customers, nurturing trust and loyalty through shared beliefs. Here at Veteran Owned Business Roundtable (VOBRT), for example, we do what we do to honor, support, and respect veterans who gave up a portion of their lives to ensure our freedoms.
2) Attract People Who Believe as You Believe
Once you have
determined your business's why, the next goal should be to attract customers or clients that believe as you believe. To do this, you need to get the word out about why your business does what it does. A couple ways to do this include: Redesign products or services to reflect your company's beliefs, not just the features. Conduct marketing campaigns focused on why you do what you do. How Can VOBRT Help? Wingmen aren't reserved solely for military service; and here at VOBRT we believe in helping veterans find and secure professional wingmen. Veteran owned businesses are matched together with Corporate Members looking to employ veteran services or products. For more information, please contact Veteran Owned Businesses Roundtable today.

In light of an evolving market, faced with new competitors, and after a careful analysis of their current customers, the Vanguard Group (hereinafter referred to as “Vanguard”) realizes it must rethink its entire marketing strategy. Ever since the pilgrims first set foot on North American soil there has always been some form of a pension to soldiers of battle. The purpose of this compensation to the soldiers was to allow them to be able to successfully live a post-military life. Over the growth of America the compensation for a soldier’s tenure began to grow as well. From the start of the Old Soldiers Home to the birth of the Veterans Administration (VA) to the inception of the GI Bill the government has adopted more and more methods to aid veterans in their post-military life. However even with all these programs veterans still find themselves struggling to be a part of society as an everyday citizen. Why is it that with all these government programs, veterans are still struggling to adjust to civilian life?
One of the most serious problems facing all veterans today is the lack of proper healthcare. Soldiers, sailors and airmen are leaving active duty without having proper healthcare to cover their physical or mental injuries. The department responsible for veteran’s healthcare is the Department of Veterans Affairs. (VA) According to The department of Veterans Affairs website, “The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government-run military veteran benefit system with Cabinet-level status. It is responsible for administering programs of veterans’ benefits for veterans, their families, and survivors. The benefits provided include disability compensation, pension, education, home loans, life insurance, vocational rehabilitation, survivors’ benefits, medical benefits and burial benefits. It is administered by the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs.” The VA, who was formerly called the Veterans Administration, was established 21 July 1930, to consolidate and coordinate government activities affecting war veterans. The VA encompassed the functions of the former U.S. Veterans' Bureau, the Bureau of Pensions of the Interior Department and the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. On 25 October 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation creating a new federal Cabinet-level Department of Veterans Affairs to replace the Veterans Administration effective 15 March 1989 (V.A.)
I designed implemented at the Veterans Affairs as the Director of Vendor Management a balance scorecard with four quadrants for 1) internal processes, 2) customer service, 3) financial metrics, 4) and learning development. Sharing individual experiences with stakeholders is an effective leadership method to reduce organizational resistance and gain stakeholders trust. Key performance metrics provides a tool for problem identification and remediation of project risks throughout the life cycle of a project. My model identified the increased failure rate of IT investments suggests a systemic weakness of federal agencies project managers’ ability to use project management methodologies, investment frameworks, and IT governance models effectively
After reading the article in CQ Researcher related to veterans health care, answer the following questions:
Pertaining to veterans, depression is one of the leading causes for disability. It is also one of the most costly chronic conditions when it comes to health care expenditures and lost productivity (Desai, Rosenheck, & Thomas, 2006). There are several reasons for why a veteran can be facing depression. Factors can come from war and some can be from coming back home. Depression is a serious disorder that typically goes undiagnosed and untreated. Because of this, routine screening for depression has been advised so that more occurrences for depression could be found and more people can be assisted. Pertaining to veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs (also known as the VA), requires annual depression screening for veterans who are not already receiving treatment. This will ensure that those who are in need of services will have the appropriate ones for the exact issue that they are facing.
Although small businesses do not make a lot of major deals with large investors, most small businesses create profit revenue greater than large corporations. Small business creators are very brave considering only ten percent of small businesses survive. Unfortunately, some communities do not support local small businesses; they only support the large brand name and force small businesses to die out. Since small businesses will not have a name brand known around the world, many people from communities will not support them because they are not known on a national scale. “This, in turn will affect the local economy and drive capital out of their local economy. On average, for every one hundred dollars spent in an economy, if spent on a
