On November 24, 2017 at approximately 2038 hours, I observed a silver 2017 Toyota four door sedan traveling north on US HWY 19 approaching Leo Kidd AV in Port Richey, FL. I observed the license plate frame to be obscuring the county / state lettering at the bottom of the license plate in violation of Florida statute 320.061. I maneuvered my unmarked patrol vehicle (116) behind the Toyota and conducted a lawful traffic stop.
I made contact with the driver of the Toyota, who was identified by his Florida identification card as Johnny Lee Sterling. Sterling was unable to provide me with proof of insurance for the vehicle and admitted he did not possess a driver’s license. A NCIC / FCIC check was conducted, which confirmed he did not possess
A records check of Lopez revealed she was the owner of a 2015 Toyota CA 7UIS767. I canvassed the area for Lopez’ vehicle and I did not locate her vehicle. An Automated licensed Plate Reader (ALPR) search also revealed negative results for Lopez’ vehicle.
Petitioner David Leon Riley was originally stopped for a traffic violation. The registration tags on the car that Riley was driving were currently expired. During the traffic stop the police officer also learned that Riley’s driver license was suspended. Police policy required the police officer to impound the vehicle because Riley’s license was suspended. Continuing to follow police policy a second police officer performed an inventory search of Riley’s car. The search led to Riley’s arrest for possession of two loaded handguns that were found under the hood of the car. The officer also proceeded to seize Riley’s cell phone which was located in his pocket. About two hours after the arrest a gang unit detective analyzed the content on Riley’s cell phone. Investigation of the Relationship Between Mass of a Vehicle and Its Stopping Distance Problem The problem to be investigated is "how does the mass of a vehicle affect its stopping distance when brakes are applied?" This problem is related to the conservation of energy and will be investigated through a trolley going down a ramp. A simple trolley will be used to represent the vehicle and weights attached to the rear of the trolley via a pulley system will act as the brakes. Throughout the experiment energy will be transferred into many forms but no energy will be lost or gained. As the trolley is raised it gains potential energy, when released down the ramp this energy is converted to kinetic energy.
If I was the programmer, I would instruct the vehicle to continue on its intended path, regardless of the situation. If, after making a turn, I noticed a group of people in the road, I would hope that the car would make an effort to stop. However, I would not allow the self-driving car to swerve into a wall or a sole pedestrian. By changing the path from which the car originally intended to go, you make the car become a leader in this situation, not just a bystander. In order to make the car swerve, it would need an external factor to deviate from the original design. This decision carries responsibility as well. There is a difference between the vehicle choosing to swerve into a wall and choosing to hit the group of people. In fact, the vehicle would not be choosing to hit the group of people at all, the group was in the vehicle’s way.

The behavioral models of the traffic as a system has been developed and studied for several decades and the core behavioral models, Gipps’ car-following/acceleration model and lane-changing model are more or less enough to predict behavioral outcomes of vehicles in homogeneous traffic conditions with lane discipline. In mixed traffic conditions with weak/no lane discipline however, the behavior of a vehicle cannot be defined separately using the car-following and lane-changing models. The behavior of a vehicle under such conditions is very dynamic – depending on the behavior of other vehicles in its vicinity. Also, there exists a continuous interaction among the vehicles and therefore, every vehicle is influenced by its surrounding vehicles.
For our final project in physics we were assigned to create a moving car out of a mousetrap. In order to do that, the three of us had to work together and collect our thoughts to create a car that moves a certain length. We built a car using the following materials: mousetrap, 4 CDs, zip ties, BBQ skewers, straw, wire cutters, ruler, x-acto blade, scissors, cardboard, pencil and foam. Our first step in this experiment was deciding on what we needed to get and what we already had. As I was en-route my partner and I remembered a contact from the previous night, involving Joseph Grass. He too was driving a black Dodge truck exhibiting erratic behavior. As I turned on to Kuhn St., I observed a black Dodge truck sitting in the middle of the road, with its headlights on.
