If a tourist wants to start the day in a typical Australian way, a nutritional Vegemite breakfast should be the first choice. A Vegemite breakfast could be nothing less than a difficult task for a new visitor if he does not know anything about it. Since it is different from traditional sandwich spreads there is a special way to try this black gold otherwise get ready for this unpalatable experience.
MAKING OF VEGEMITE
This brown spread, Vegemite is made from concentrated yeast extract which is a by-product of a brewing process, various vegetables and spice additives. Vegemite is very nutritional because it is rich in the Vitamin B group such as Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, and Folate (Cairnsunlimited, 2000). Its smell is very unique; some people think it smells meaty while others say its aroma is like sulphur or chicken broth (Evershed, 2013).
A scientist at Fred Walker Cheese Company, Dr Cyril Callister, first developed this paste in 1922 and since then, it has become an integral part of the Australian breakfast. The company first labelled it as “Pure Vegetable Extract” but later a national competition was held to give it a unique name which resulted in “Vegemite” (ABC Poll, 2013).
VEGEMITE POPULARITY
People outside Australia may not have any knowledge about this healthy spread but Vegemite celebrated its 90th birthday last year. It is so popular among Australians that 22 million jars of Vegemite are produced every year and almost 80 percent of households across Australia have Vegemite in their pantries. Vegemite is so Australian that 98 percent of it is consumed in Australia and only 2% is exported. (Nielsen Scan Australia, 2013)

The visual narrative that revolved around the product being ‘from nature itself’ and the packaging seen at the end of the advertisement also attempted to project a healthy image for the brand.

I attended the Los Angeles Philharmonic classical music concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Friday 29 November 2013. The classical concert started at 8:00pm to the enjoyment of the huge audience that had been waiting for this amazing music extravaganza. Classical music concerts always offer magnificent entertainment and the audience in this concert was expectant to derive such entertainment or more. In attendance were Christian Zacharias who was the conductor and Martin Chalifour who was the LA Phil commanding Principal Concertmaster and Bach violin player. In readiness for the concert, I enjoyed a special dinner prepared for the audience. More specifically, LA Phil staffer introduced us to the evening classical concert amidst cheers from the audience. It was such a refreshing and joyous feeling to be part of this audience.

The first festival was held in 2000, an early street parade with only a small number of participants, now however it has evidently grown- there must be around 3000 plus participants and thousands more spectators roaming around happily amongst one another. By means of their bodies, the participants demonstrate and highlight awareness about various campaigns that involve social and economic challenges such as poverty, homelessness, gender issues, HIV/ AIDS, refugees, xenophobia, human trafficking, greener more ecofriendly cities and children's rights in hopes of attaining social justice. All of this is done while ceremonially exhibiting and making use of local art as a tool for activism, celebrating diversity, and building cohesive bonds amongst the communities and residents of central Tshwane. With all of this in mind, I set off to study the participants and spectators of The Feast of the Clowns through interviews. Some interviewees were residents of the inner city of Tshwane, either as spectators or participants; while others were simply spectators from different districts surrounding Tshwane. The interviews were conducted using a standard questionnaire relating to the ‘Feast of the clowns’ and the interviewees understanding
Identity: The fact of being who or what a person or thing is. The principle objective of this paper is to establish how the role of identity and our belonging impact on what types of events we attend, where we attend and who with? How has globalisation impacted the events industry through social, economic and cultural levels? The objectification of both men and women; how has this created an even bigger impact on events in our ever changing world? Has this enhanced our freedom in choosing which events we can attend or restricted us? This essay is focused on the works of Mikhail Bakhtin “Carnival and Carnivalesque” and his critique on cultural theory related to the events industry. This essay also looks at the works of Pierre Bourdieu; his “habitus and embodiment” theories and the way we have internalised the external environment and how this ultimately affects our behaviours. Goulding and Saren’s publication of: Performing identity: an analysis of gender expressions at the Whitby Goth festival has equally given a clear critique of the nature of gender identities within a specific subculture, a subculture firmly rooted in objects of consumption and bonded together by a common fascination with the vampire.

or bands for a chance those were the good will and the love for life music. The understanding helps to determine the design lens. The event should have the aim of achieving a development within the community where performance and dramaturgy count in to. (Carla A. Costa, The show must go on) „Event dramaturgy entails the extraction of shared meanings enabled by the projection and/or performance of symbolic representations in an event’s activities. Event dramaturgy is a mode of symbolic action (Goffman, 1959) that its enactment takes place through a kind of performance that exemplifies expressive and dramatic dimensions (Schechner, 2003). Turner (1969, 1974) theorized such performances as forms of rituals and social dramas that are expressed collectively through events. Thus, it can be said that the interplay of performance and event dramaturgy shapes a symbolic context in which communities validate or recreate the conditions that make up their social order.“ (Carla A. Costa, The show must go on) Applying the quote on „Bands for a chance“, the event embraced the genres of music transmission, bands, good will, students lifestyle, and a positive feeling about life and hope. The event focused and delivered cooperation, community, social benefit and social interest. A certain value system is recreated and implemented by students. All participants leave with an awareness of children cancer and the positive feeling about life and hope. It fostered the liminality and borders in society of sharing moments
Performance art can simply be described as the type of art presented to live audience (Irvin, 2016). The performance can either be carefully orchestrated or random; scripted or unscripted; carefully planned sometimes with or without audience participation or otherwise spontaneous. In addition, the performance can either be via the media or live; sometimes the performer is present while other times the performer may be absent. In general, performance art encompasses four basic elements: the body of the performer, time, space, and the performer-audience relationship. Performance art can take place anywhere and in any type of settings and venue for any time duration. For the sake of this assignment, I decided to attend a live art performance,
