INTRODUCTION
A network is a set of communication devices that connected by wired or wireless to others
device media link. The common network types are Personal Area Network (PAN), Local Area
Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN). Instead LAN, PAN also can be built using either wired or wireless technology. In this assignment, i will focus on Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) which is implemented IEEE 802.15 standard based on the smart home environment that would enable an elderly to stay in their home, instead of a health care center so that they can live independently. Therefore, this is the opportunity for us to explore, design and layout network infrastructure by using our background knowledge in data communication and computer networks.
What Is Smart Home
A smart home or smart house, is a home that incorporates advanced automation systems to provide human especially for the elderly monitoring and control over their home's functions. And nowaday smart home become intelligent because its computer systems can monitor so many aspects of daily living. For example a they may control lighting, temperature, multi-media, security, window and door operations, as well as many other functions. The smart home systems also might even take care of cleaning and healthing or security. Coded signals are sent to switches and outlets that are programmed to operate appliances and electronic devices in every part of the house. Home automation can be especially useful for elderly and disabled persons who wish to live independently. So, here we need to use our knowledge in data communication and computer network to explore and design a suitable network layout for smart home environment that would enab...

In smart home also provide a remote interface to home appliances or the automation system with wireless transmission to internet, to provide control and monitoring all devices via touchpad, keypad or keyfob (from outside). Hence, the security for the inhabitants is more guaranteed with the system and technology.
When all the devices connected to network it will work normally and make elderly people can live inpendently instead health care centre. A variety of smart-home technologies are available that are readily accepted by elderly. The feasibility of smart technologies can be improved by addressing issues related to safety and privacy. While the outcomes and cost effectiveness of these forms of technology remains to be assessed, it appear to show some potential for helping the elderly to live longer, safely and independently in their own homes.
Wireless networks – While the term wireless network may technically be used to refer to any type of network that is wireless, the term is most commonly used to refer to a telecommunications network whose interconnection between nodes is implemented without the use of wires, such as a computer network. Wireless telecommunication networks are generally implemented with some type of remote information transmission system that uses electromagnetic waves, such as radio waves, for the carrier and this implementation usually takes place at the physical level or “layer” network.
As the technology developing, everything becomes computable. And when people realizing the importance of the Internet of Things, more and more data is collected. Analyzing such amount of data becomes a big challenge for modern people. As a very important component of our life, internet becomes indispensable. Data sharing between multiple users becomes more popular. It seems our life will stop if without the internet. The user devices becomes much lighter, most computing and data storage are separated with remote operations. Distributed system becomes more and more useful for our life.
Telehealth is the monitoring via remote exchange of physiological data between a patient at home and health care professionals at hospitals or clinics to assist with diagnosis and treatment. As our society ages and health care costs increase, government and private insurance payers are seeking technological interventions. Technological solutions may provide high quality healthcare services at a distance, utilize professional resources more effectively, and enable elderly and ill patients to remain in their own homes. Patients may experience decreased hospitalization and urgent care settings, and out of home care may not be required as the patient is monitored at home. However, no study has been able to prove telehealth benefits conclusively. This change in health care delivery presents new ethical concerns, and new relationship boundaries between health care professionals, patients, and family members. This paper will discuss telehealth benefits in specific patient populations, costs benefits of using telehealth, and concerns of using telehealth.
Smart home technologies are information-based technologies that passively collect and share resident information with the resident and family members, in addition to primary care providers. These devices collect multiple types of data, which include: physiological, location or movement data. Safety sensors are proven to be very helpful for those who may or may not be suffering from Alzheimer’s, or non-ambulatory ...
Long-term care has been slow to utilize telemedicine for the following reasons; A lack of funding for updates, not knowing how to install or use telemedicine in long-term care, worries over conflicts of interest, staffing turn over, lacking knowledge to control telemedicine, customers often lack knowledge of new technology, and the facilities and customers are unaware of the available technology relating to long-term care (International Federation on Aging Global Connections, 2012, p. 8). The biggest barriers
To attempt to define a network in a few sentences would be a fool’s errand. A network could be seen as simply a grid of interconnecting connections between multiple bodies. However when this vision is applied to real-world systems, they all start to differ. There is not anything that exists in the universe that is not part of a network. A network is the result of different parts or members which have similarities in parts of their identity. This similarity that they have in common, they will also have with other bodies forming a network between them. Most of these factors of identity are different from those of most others. As a result, each factor will be in common with different other members of different networks. Each factor includes this body in a multitude of networks. This means that no one thing is in one and only one network, but is included in many.
The most popular smart homes are Amazon’s Amazon Echo and Google’ Google Home. Both are able to complete many different tasks including: turning in lights, setting alarms, creating or adding to lists, and answering random questions. Some people will refuse to own one of these smart home devices because they feel like the device is always listening to them even if the creators say the device will only listen if the trigger words are said. Smart homes are becoming more and more popular leading to home automation becoming more and more common. Now that almost any aspect of your house that uses electricity can be controlled from the smart home, people have become dependant on the smart home to perform tasks. For example turning on lights, adjusting the thermostat, turning on coffee pots, and even unlocking doors. If the smart home and the smart lights on a ceiling fan become disconnected, the the owner is left to sit in the dark until they reconnect. Having a smart home control your house can cause major problems if there is a
The purpose of this paper is give a summary of the function and use of Routers in today’s information age. To cover the complete subject of routers and routing, would be beyond the scope of this research paper. However the basic definition of a router is “ A device used to connect networks of different types, such as those using different architectures and protocols. Routers work at the Network layer of the OSI model. This means they can switch and route packets across multiple networks. They do this by exchanging protocol-specific information between separate networks. Routers determine the best path for sending data and filter broadcast traffic to the local segment.”
Wireless technology has come from the basics of cellular usage to sensors in the medical field. Wires are now a thing of the past in today’s world with technology forever revitalizing. Wi-Fi (Wireless Network) or 802.11 networking is a phenomenal way of providing wireless Internet at a low cost. Using radio waves, a wireless network connects a PC, mobile phone or just about anything that connects to the internet wirelessly via a router.
technologies such as Bluetooth and ZigBee which are used to carry the information from perception devices to a nearby gateway based on the capabilities of the communicating parties. Internet technologies such as WiFi, 2G, 3G, and 4G carry the information over long distances based on the application. Since applications aim to create smart homes, smart cities, power system monitoring etc.
Local Area Networks also called LANs have been a major player in industrialization of computers. In the past 20 or so years the worlds industry has be invaded with new computer technology. It has made such an impact on the way we do business that it has become essential with an ever-growing need for improvement. LANs give an employer the ability to share information between computers with a simple relatively inexpensive system of network cards and software. It also lets the user or users share hardware such as Printers and scanners. The speed of access between the computers is lighting fast because the data has a short distance to cover. In most cases a LAN only occupies one or a group of buildings located next to each other. For larger area need there are several other types of networks such as the Internet.

Analogous to the way humans use the Internet, devices will be the main users in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. Therefore, device-to-device (D2D) communication is expected to be an intrinsic part of the IoT. Devices will communicate with each other autonomously without any centralized control and collaborate to gather, share, and forward information in a multihop manner. (Bello and Zeadally, 2014). The word Smart is used in conjunction with various words such as Living, Cities, Metering, Grids, Water Levy and Lighting to describe a variety of applications t...
The propose research will address a problem confronting many two year institutions in the present-day (i.e. how to best plan, design, and implement WLAN technologies). While WLAN technologies offer the benefits of mobility, reduced installation time, and decreased cost, many challenges must be met by institutions deploying them (Geier, 2005). These issues are related to security, speed, interoperability, and equipment selection, ease of use, reliability, signal interference, installation, and health risks.
Introduction: This is a 21th century, technology is the most important and improved thing of the human life. It makes life easier and faster. Development of faster sophisticated technology we have better and fast life. So all we are connect each other by computer network. There are two different way of network: Wired and wireless. Now day we can found network almost everywhere. Home, business, public place, Airport, Planes, hospitals, school, train everywhere we can found networking. Therefore, almost every sector of the economy that has affected by wired and wireless technology. Wired network and wireless protect both has security, But in general wireless network is less secure than wired networks. For proper security AP (access point) and its antenna should be right position. Also add a wireless access point or use a wireless router we can connect to network wirelessly. AS we using more and more of devices (smart phones, tablet and computers) rely on wireless networking, we have to improve our network security too.
