When working with children it is vital we have a good understanding of the principles and values such as United Nations Children’s Rights Convention. The Foundation Phase curriculum promotes equality of opportunity and values, and celebrates diversity.’ (Foundation Phase revised curriculum, 2015) whereas the UNCRC focuses on the rights of the child, these rights underpins everything that practitioners do in the setting. Alternatively the Foundation Phase is a framework that is used to plan for children’s play and learning but gives us many opportunities to celebrate diversity and promote an inclusive and equal setting.
Under the UNCRC article 31 which is Leisure, play and culture; the Children have the right to relax and play. They also have the right to join in a range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities. Children who do not have the access to play at home

are able to participate in a range of play opportunities in the classroom or during after school clubs. Children also have lots of opportunities to relax during break times and free play. In my current setting we celebrate a range of different cultural events such as Diwali and St David’s Day and we encourage all children to get involved, this helps them understand the diverse society that they are growing up in. Practitioners also have to respects their own personal and individual beliefs beforehand, practitioners must always uphold their own values. Under the UNCRC practitioners must also treat all children equally, this does not mean treating all children the same but giving all children the same opportunities to play and learn.
For example, if there was a child in the setting with a physical disability then the practitioner would be expected to ensure that they could fully participate in all activities including a physical educational lesson without feeling segregated from the other children. The practitioner must always ensure that they comply with the equality act 2010, by doing this they are providing equality of opportunities for all children. The practitioner needs to ensure that the environment is accessible for all children and staff so that they are able to participate in all activities available and be able to reach their full potential. When possible practitioners must also differentiate activities so that all children and young people are able to get involved, they must also make sure they got appropriate resources to meet all children’s individual needs and learning styles such as visual and kinesthetic
learners. Under Article 12 in the UNCRC it states that we must respect the views of the child. It is important that we take into account the children’s interest and view’s when planning the classroom and any structured activities. It would be beneficial if practitioners based their planning on the children’s current interests as they children may be more focused as they’re learning about something they are interested in. I have implemented this in my current setting as when planning for structured play I asked the children for their input as to what they wished to do the following week, once I listened to the views of the children I implemented their interests into the following weeks planning. I initially planned to carry out a mathematical activity which focused on adding and subtracting using a tree template and pom poms as the apple to add and take away from the tree, but the children were interested in learning more about dinosaurs so instead I made a dinosaur nest with frozen eggs and used these instead of the tree template I originally planned. This shows the importance of being flexible in my planning, we have to be open to change and go with what the children are interested in.

By what has been presented Jimmy didn’t seem to have a positive and loving environment. His mum drank and had mental health problems. How did these factors occur? A possible lack of support for bringing up a child alone or Social-economic factors. Another area could be living in an area where people were living below the poverty line. In this instance there wouldn’t be any close ties with other people who live in the area. Being isolated in this instance with no social support from others who live close by may have had an impact on her. Having someone come out either someone she knows well or a social worker is a good social interaction with others. This can help his mum from a point of How are you doing? Do you need additional support?

Within the care system there are two different routes in to care and these are voluntary care and compulsory care. Voluntary care is when the parent agrees for their child to be placed in to the care system and this care section is under section 76 of the social services and wellbeing act of 2014. Then there is compulsory care and this is when the imposition of a care order is put in place by the authorities. This is under section 31 of the social services and wellbeing act of 2014.

Some hazardous substances as well as materials that could be found in a social care organisation may include any cleaning materials, e.g. disinfectant that can easily cause burns or poisoning, clinical and bodily waste, medicines or drugs. injury to the skin as most useful disinfectant is an irritant, all found in the COSHH cupboard for use of the cleaners. The clinical e.g. used injections and bodily waste e.g. period pads must be in the clinical waste bins. It’s also important that the clinical waste bins are cleaned twice a day. To enable individuals to have a choice and control over the services they receive they must be placed at the centre of the decision making process, the current changes within the health and social care sector reinforce the idea that it is the individual in need of these services that knows best what their needs are and how they can be met effectively. Within my workplace we support and encourage service users to partake in their own care planning process to ensure the care they receive is personalised/ tailored to them as an individual, it contains personal likes/ dislikes/ preferences and choices regarding every aspect of their life.
A working relationship is professional where you will be working with other colleagues within a structure and for specific objectives following set guidelines were you all have the same goal to reach and a shared purpose. A personal relationship is relaxed and more intimate and is what you would have outside of work such as a friend, family member or loved one who you would spend time with outside of work commitments. It is important to keep the two relationships separate so to remain professional at all times and maintain boundaries were needed.
I contacted with module leader the one she marked my paper and she told me how i appeal but after that i had many appointment with dr to save my baby and when I remembered my grade my hear rate increase and feel depressed, the dr told me i have to calm down and the depression can cause miscarriage in early pregnancy .
Within the care sector it’s very important that colleagues pass information/changes to individual’s circumstances we are supporting. This could be done either between yourselves or in team meetings depending how important/urgent the information needs to be passed on/recorded. You can also support colleagues how to make new entries/changes to an individual’s care plan and the importance in doing this. Sharing information and contributing to individual’s records is a great way to improve the quality of care even exchanging views and making suggestions can make a difference to the care/support we give to the individual.
Additionally, personal organisation is a strong skill in which I possess. This is because I am able to organise myself effectively to ensure that al deadlines, dates and times were met appropriately and that I am always on time and not late. I would need to be organised for a health care job as I would have to be on time for work changeovers to ensure that I had up to date knowledge on how patients are doing.
As a whole there can be multiple effects as a consequence of discrimination and multiple participants that will be affected by discrimination.
