Pride in Your Uniform Having pride in your uniform is a very important thing in the United States armed forces. The army is a professional organization and expects its soldiers to look professional and hold themselves to a higher standard. If you do not take pride in your uniform then you will not be viewed as a professional. People will look at you differently if your uniform is messed up. It would not be a good representation of the army if nobody took pride in his or her uniform. Soldiers wear the Army Service Uniform to funerals of fallen soldiers. It would be very disrespectful for a service member to show up to a funeral of a fallen soldier with a messed up uniform. If a service member were to hand the fallen soldier’s family members flowers with a messed up uniform then that family member would not have as much respect for the organization that their relative died working for. That is one reason taking pride in your uniform is such a big deal. Another reason taking pride in your Army Service Uniform is important is because it represents who you are as a person. If your uniform is not up to standard then people are going to look at you like you are not a squared away individual. You should want …show more content…
When your uniform is up to standard then that makes your leadership look good. If your uniform is not up to standard then your leadership will not look squared away. You want everyone that you work with to have pride in their uniform and look good because it represents your unit as a whole. If one person has a messed up uniform then it makes the entire team look bad. When the team looks bad then that ultimately makes the leaders look bad. It is important to do your leaders a favor and square away your uniform so they don’t receive the blows because someone didn’t feel like putting the time and effort into their
At the start of the war, many people, including president Abraham Lincoln, thought that the few battles wouldn’t turn into much and that the fighting would be over soon. Clearly, they were wrong. As the fighting continued, uniforms became necessary in order to stop men from shooting others on their own sides. When uniforms were first created, they were very inconsistent in the way they were made. Styles of clothing depended on where they were made or who made them. Many s...
One aspect of having all students wear the same school-district uniform, is that it helps students focus on learning. In my case, I went to a private junior high school few years ago. Students there are required to wear the uniform every day; everyone dresses like a student. When I wake up every morning, I just grab my uniform and put it on without having any other thoughts about how it will look on me; thus I have more time to spend on learning. Therefore, I was prepared every day, and so were others. Yet, the high school I went to was a public school; it does not have any uniform policies. Comparing to my junior high, students dressed differently every day with different kinds of clothing. Since it does not require un...
This military is built upon a foundation of loyalty and trust, as one man must be able to trust his fellow soldiers with his life. Bravery is another key component in this military, any man is willing to risk his own life to save the lives of his comrades. The way these values
Respect to me is admiring someone for their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is always earned an can never be given. As soldiers soldiers we should always respect our peers because they have made the same sacrifice as us. But as soldiers we should have a higher level of respect for our NCOs because they have done their time an have earned it. Being respectful is not hard it is simple, just treat others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.
The Army Ethic is what defines us and guides us in our duty and mission performance and all aspects of our lives. The Army ethic should be at the heart of all Soldiers both on and of duty. That is why we serve the American people. And the ethics are revealed in the Army values, creeds, and ethos. All this promotes honorable service to our nation. The Army professional sets the example and it’s what the American people expect from the soldiers that serve our nation. We must continue to serve with honor to promote trust with the people and to uphold our oath that we swore to defend the constitution of the United States. We should demonstrate character and pride with how we serve with integrity and with ethics in every day aspects.
The wear and appearance of the uniform should be neat. There is no excess, things hanging out of any pockets. It should look concise and not draw any attention to yourself. Soldiers should be dress right dress to everyon else. In the army it’s important to be a team because of what we
... not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart and when the flag is not displayed, everyone should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.
I am as important as everyone else around me, even someone who is not a citizen of the United States of America. I believe that the uniform I wear lets me experience what it is like to protect the American flag. It is hard for me to believe that in a way I represent the American flag.I believe that the American flag should not be disrespected in any way. Some people like to kneel for the national Anthem, and others burn the flag to protest. It is completely disrespectful and inappropriate to do eithe rone of these things. I personally would never do that because I have been taught well by my teachers in NJROTC and at home to never ever do that.
When in the Army or in any other branch of the military, the soldiers are required to wear a uniform. Most soldiers in the Army will wear the Army Combat Uniform, or ACU, on a daily basis.
Although school uniforms are becoming big as many schools start adopting them, should they be in schools? Well, according to the article “Dress for Success: Public Uniforms” By Tamar Lewin a journalist for The New York Times. “In Miami 196 out of 328 public schools are required to wear uniforms.” 196 public schools! Now I don’t know about you, but to me that’s a huge number. There are 328 public schools in Miami, but 196 is about ⅓ of 328 and this article was published in 2016 so in 2 years how much could it have gone up?
The military was built on long standing values and customs and courtesies such as saluting, being willing to die for your country, professionalism, and respecting the uniform that you wear by wearing it proudly. All service members are proud of their uniform and what it stands for, but many people don’t know what a uniform is. Oxford Dictionary defines uniform as something that is not changing in form or character; remaining the same in all cases and at all times. Synonyms of uniform are unchanging and constant. If we have a line up of military members in uniform under this n...
Society has taught people that they should be themselves and express their individuality. There are many people out there who think everyone should act and be the same because people get judged if they act or dress differently. Everyone is their own person and no one should have to conform to everyone else in society. The debate over whether or not uniforms should be required has been going on for years. Many schools have decided it is best to have uniforms when, in all honesty, uniforms make no difference in academic success or behavior of students. Just because someone wears a uniform does not make them any smarter of behave in a better manner. School uniforms should not be required, not only because they do not let students express themselves, but also they cost families more money and do not affect what goes on at school.
As I strive on to be a better soldier and take the initiative to be a leader in today’s Army, I look a little closer at each of these values. There is always something to work on personally and objectively. To me, being late to PT wasn’t that big of a deal, but if I look at the whole picture it is. If I look deeper as to what m actions are saying, I realize just how important appearance really is. If I am perceived to be a bad soldier that that is the way I will be treated. I will continue to strive to do the right thing and follow the advice of my leaders.
A uniform is a standard set of clothes that is worn by a group of people. These people may be members of an organization or a group of people having the same ideas. There are thousands of kinds of uniforms in the world worn by people, such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, lawyers, security guards, and even fast-food restaurant workers. School uniforms are a controversial issue in schools today. Many schools have already adopted a policy mandating school uniforms, while many more are still considering the change. School uniforms create an atmosphere of equality in which the students are able to achieve to their best, while attaining the most out of their education. School uniforms should be mandatory to unite the school community as one, to instil discipline among the student body, and to eliminate distractions that will help students focus more, which in turn will help our society.
Most dictionaries define the concept of uniform as dress of the same style, materials and color worn by a group. Spencer (2013) says, “A shirt, tie and blazer may not be the ingredients for my favorite outfit, but if I were given the choice, I wouldn't throw away the idea of school uniform. Wearing a uniform is a badge of pride, creates an identity for a school and is an important part of being a school student.” Imagine being able to wake up every morning, get out of bed, put on the same thing you wore the day before, and head off to school. Not only you would be able to do such a thing, but every one of your friend were doing it. Sound too good to be true? Well, it’s becoming more general in our society as school uniforms have gone beyond private schools to public schools. Uniforms
