On your pig nose reports I was thrilled to see that for the last six weeks you’ve averaged 545 animals bred per week and, that also for the last week ultrasounds you’ve had 536 animals standing pregnant. At this rate, you should have the right number of animals farrowing by the last week of August and weaning by the last week of September. Congratulations on this achievement! Whatever you do, please do not abort any animals out of any of these groups. We need to make sure that your animals are staying pregnant and, figure out what your true post-ultrasound fallout rate is. For the previous twenty weeks; unfortunately, ten percent post-ultrasound fallout and, six percent pre-ultrasound fallout. Six percent pre-ultrasound fallout is excellent
but, ten percent post-ultrasound fallout is double what it should be. We need to figure out what’s going on there and eliminate the post-ultrasound fallout. Nonetheless, for the twenty-six weeks completed thus far this year you’re at ninety-two percent of your weaned pig target and, ninety-four percent of your overall farm target. I’m pleased to see that for the last twenty weeks you’ve weaned 185 pigs and, averaged 11.1 pigs weaned per sow and, got your weaned age up 19.8 days. Very impressive!
Premarin farms have been around for a long time, and started off with a booming industry. According to premarin.org, Premarin was first introduced for women in 1942 for hormone therapy in menopause and was one of the first on the market (Premarin, 1996). The living conditions at some farms are horrible. According to the website, Last Chance for Animals, at some farms, when the mares are three to four months pregnant are placed into tiny stalls and rigged with a harness and urine collecting bag (Horses, n.d.). These pregnant horses are not allowed to more around, let alone lay down and rest their tired legs for the last 7 and 8 months of their pregnancy until they are ready to deliver. The horses do not get shoes on their feet, and there is no bedding put down to protect the horses from the concrete (Horses, n.d.). They also do not receive adequate water be...
As a medical assistant, I will tell the patients that we need to establish that radiographs are a necessary part of good patients care. Since we can’t see inside of our body, radiographs provide valuable information that we can’t visualize. I will also tell the patients that if they don’t want to take X-rays there will be a greater negative effect. I will also explain her that if we take X-rays, we will know how to taking care of her. If she refuse to take X-rays, we will not know about her health situation and there will be a big problems and it can also lead to death. I will reassure her that if you don’t take X-rays, we cannot give you the care you deserve without radiographs. So be prepare on the next visit for X-rays. If the patient refuse
There has recently been a growing interest in outdoor pig production due to potential niche markets that include nature, free range, antibiotic-free, and sustainable products from pigs. Outdoor pig production can have benefits such as having a cost that is 40-70% lower to conventional indoor systems and can achieve similar grow margins with less capital investment, but it can also have its downfalls (Gentry & McGlone, 2003). Sows used to be housed in groups with outdoor access. In United States in 2001, 64% of the gestated sows were moved inside confinement building and given an individual stall (Peter J. Lammers, 2008). Consumers are concerned about sows being housed in gestation stalls and pigs being finished in confinement because they do not think that pigs are able to live their natural lives. This paper is written to show the pros and cons of indoor and outdoor housing for gestation and finishing pigs.
Bone marrow is the flexible tissue in the interior of bones. Hematopoiesis is when the red blood cells are formed by cores of bone marrow in the ends of lengthy bones. Bone marrow comprises 4% of the total of a person’s body mass. Bone marrow transplants treat severe diseases of the bone marrow, including specific forms of cancer. And so many people don’t receive the proper transplant they need. Paying people for their bone marrow would help to solve that situation but it’s harmful for the patience, unethical, and could potentially be risky for donors.

For many years, infertile couples have had difficulty facing the reality that they can not have children. According to Nidus Information Services Incorporated, 6.2 million women in the United States are infertile. This problem leads to many options. A few options have been used for a long period of time: the couple could adopt a child or keep trying to have a child themselves. For those couples that want to have their own children, there are new options arising. In vetro fertilization is an option that gives couples the chance to have a doctor combine the male's sperm and the woman's eggs in a petri dish and implant them into the woman's womb after the artificial conception. This may result in multiple pregnancies - more than five in some cases. This does not only occur in implantation, however. Many times the patient's doctor will ask her to consider selective reduction: aborting a few fetuses to save the ones she can. In a case of multiple pregnancy, selective reduction should be considered an option.
In the world we’re living in today, many kinds of diseases, infections, and viruses are continuously arising. At the same time, scientists are untiringly researching about how we can prevent or cure them. Unfortunately, millions of people have been affected and sick that some of their organs fail that results to the need of organ replacement. Many people have died because no organs have been available to provide the need of organ replacements. The shortage of organ replacement has been a bioethical issue since then and it seems like no solution has been available. However, due to the studies scientists have been conducting, they found the most possible answer to this issue – Xenotransplantation. It hasn’t become very popular all over the

Home birthing, among many other things, is difficult and very dangerous. There are many things that can go wrong when you are not in a healthcare facility and receiving the right amount of care. Hospital birthing is far more efficient and less threatening. 1. In Alabama, midwives are illegal!

If, you had a child and they asked what would you say? I would probably think about it in a few ways. Like 'Do they really need it right now?' 'When's the right age for it?' or 'Would they overuse it or take it to school for no reason?'. If, you give your child a phone to early they can get addicted and they could possibly bring it to school for emergancy. Some sources say 11 others say 13-16 or in their starts of middle school years.
One popular method of trying to increase the numbers of endangered species is by in vitro fertilization, or test tube babies. Scientists take the sperm from a male and an egg from a female and united them in the laboratory, then place the embryo into a surrogate mother, which is usually put inside a similar animal. For instance, a Bengal tiger cub was born to a Siberian t...
