Thank you for taking the time to assess my appeal of the admissions decision of acceptance. When speaking to UC Davis Admissions I was informed that the decision for my denial was due to incomplete math requirements and transfer units and that UC Davis only considers the courses finished by Spring of 2018.
With respect to the decisions of the acceptance committee, I would like to present the information that another UC campus took into consideration for my acceptance as a new transfer student. I have updated all my completed and projected courses and included a copy of this in the supplemental information. The remaining requisite courses will be completed by July 19th, 2018 and will meet all transfer requirements before the start of Fall quarter
2018. Please consider this information for my acceptance into UC Davis for Fall of 2018. Furthermore, I was accepted to UC Santa Cruz for Fall of 2018 and the undergraduate admissions office took this information into consideration as part of their offer of admissions. I cannot go to Santa Cruz, however, because my family and I have become part of the UC Davis community and have developed roots in the city of Davis. My wife Ilse Pastor is currently a student at UC Davis studying Cognitive Neuroscience, and my daughter is starting her final year at North Davis Elementary School. Leaving Davis to enroll at another university will uproot everything that we have developed here. As a first generation, non-traditional, college student I have been faced with many obstacles and one of the most pressing is financial stability for my family. The approval of this appeal will allow me to contribute my experiences and expertise to UC Davis while maintaining the positions my wife and daughter currently have with UC Davis. It is my intention to contribute all my experience in Cinema and Digital Media to the university in any form needed. Moreover, it is my goal to graduate from UC Davis becoming one of the many extraordinary alumni. Thank you for the opportunity to make the case for my appeal; I appreciate your approving me for the Fall of 2018.
My heart beat rapidly as the familiar sound of the ringing cell phone hummed into my ear. The vibrant voice of my guidance counselor answered, “Sue Walker, how may I help you?” After gathering my racing thoughts into words, I managed to respond, “Hi, Mrs. Walker, I heard acceptance decisions from the NC Governor’s School were emailed to counselors today.” She confirmed that decisions were available, but would only be delivered in person.
The California Community Colleges (CCC) system is composed of 108 colleges organized into 72 districts that serve more than 1.4 million students statewide. Under the direction of the CCC board of governors, the Chancellor’s Office provides statewide guidance and leadership to the community colleges. In addition, the voters in each district elect a board of trustees charged with developing local policies that govern the day-to-day operations at the district’s colleges, including overseeing the compensation of teaching faculty and other employees. For the fall 1999 semester, the districts reported to the Chancellor’s Office a total population of 41,754 teaching faculty, of which 28,180 (67 percent) were classified as part-time and 13,574 (33

College admissions are crucial a student’s senior year of high school. There are many requirements that need to be satisfied in order to qualify for admissions into certain colleges and universities, as well as the checklist to apply to each school. Hopefully, as a junior the student prepared by taking the SAT/ACT, and visiting at least a handful of potential colleges. By the start of senior year, the student must complete a separate application on ApplyTexas.org for each college which becomes quite tedious, then submit high school transcripts, shot records, admission essay(s), and SAT/ACT scores. Although it may be optional additional letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches and employers should be sent along with proof of volunteer work submitted as an extra precaution. These things show the college more about the individual, and allow the student to have more time to capture their reader’s attention. All of these requirements become extremely stressful, especially for
The Dual Enrollment Appeals committee recently met to discuss an appeal submitted for Mr. Gregorio Tanguma for classes taken in the Summer II of 2015. Mr. Gregorio is requesting to be dropped at 100% from both of the following courses;
The election night of 2000 was a pivotal moment in my life. I stayed up all night on November 7th, 2000, not because I was enthralled with watching Florida flip-flop between Gore and Bush, but because I had an IV in my arm which made it impossible to be comfortable. Earlier that evening, I was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes, a disease affecting 1 of 800 people in America. This was an especially crucial time in my life, considering I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis—an autoimmune disease that attacks the GI track in 1 of 1400 Americans—the June before, and I had my Bar-Mitzvah in September. According to the Jewish religion, I had become an adult, and as such, I had decided to greet my new medical challenges with gusto, attempting to see the silver lining from the very beginning. I cannot say that I am glad I was nature’s statistical anomaly, but I am thankful for the opportunity to see from a young age how to turn a tough situation into a positive. After almost nine years, I come back to this pivotal night in my life because it marked a change that still plays a part in my life now, and will continue to shape me in the future.
The medical school at University of California Davis had a special affirmative action program where minority groups members or economically and/or educationally disadvantaged applicants were given a special admission process where 16 places of the class’s 100 were reserved for them. Bakke was examined under the general admissions process and denied both times he applied despite his scores being significantly higher than the special program’s admitted students in both tests and interviews. Bakke then took to court claiming that the medical school had denied him admission solely on the basis of race, violating the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which states that no person shall
If interested in attending college after high school, being accepted to a “dream” college or a college of interest could end up being one of the largest milestones in a person’s life. Being accepted to that college could change a person’s life forever however, on the other hand if acceptance to the university was denied; it could result in detrimental effects on a person’s life. Although being accepted into a person’s dream college may not the maximal point in their lives’, it could cause an array of different things to occur. They would then be faced with the challenge of making the decision to attend a different university. However, another situation may transpire such as that person not being accepted to any college that they apply to, or one that doesn’t supply the inspiration that was present prior to the application of their dream college being denied. In almost any circumstance of denial to a person’s college of choice, upshots could occur that have life-long effects on a person’s life which is something most future college students would rather not have to deal with. Being admitted to a certain college is an extremely delicate process which varies from university to university which creates an ideal atmosphere for denial to a certain college if certain aspects of the student’s admittance application do not meet the universities’ requirements for admission. This is where problems begin to rise in the collegiate academic system which could prevent some future college students from getting the education they desire and being forced to settle just because they scored poorly on a single test or struggled through high school for some reason or another. Colleges rely too heavily on academic performance based upon prior knowledge ...

When I came into Boston College, right away the expectations I held for myself very much focused on school. For the last two years, I went to a preparatory boarding school where I faced a multitude of challenges, socially but most importantly I struggled with academics. What I learned that very first week when I moved in junior year, was that public school and private school are immensely different. My class sizes, my teachers, the expectations, the rules, study habits, they were all so new. I jumped into a routine fairly smoothly, which helped my anxiety of getting adjusted to my life at school. However, after a month or so, I noticed the habits I brought from public school were not working in my new environment. Time management and procrastination
The Transfer University I want to attend is the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, located at 1400 Spring Garden St, Greensboro, NC 27402. I am looking into pursuing a degree in Nursing Science. The academic department, School of Nursing provided me with quality information about admissions. Information about the admissions and requirements can be found on this web address, https://nursing.uncg.edu/admissions-finaid/undergraduate-requirements/. My University of choice is a part of the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement. I know this because this University is one of the listed schools apart of the agreement. This is important to know because it determines if my University of choice will accept my transfer application for Nursing.
I believe in the saying “Aspire, Soar and capture dreams”. I have aspired to be a part of your institution and soared hard for it. Now I eagerly await my dream of joining your university.

One thing you must know is when I receiving a acceptance into the college my life was just begun to be stressful. The first problem that comes to mind is financial aid. Financial aid provides you with the ability to continue your education at a college within your choice but, what I didn’t understand was how the aid was being process to help me. As an example, the college I attend was like taking trips back and forth, It was quite of a distance. Some of the papers that they asked for was either incomplete or certain information was missing. Knowing the United States of American money requires for the best education. After twenty days, I was accepted. Now with all the problems behind me I have completed the first step in college.
