The word restaurant is actually comes from the words “rest” and “rent”. It is the place where they offer and served food and beverage to guest/customer who willing to pay for their services. They are a few ways for customer to paid their bill, either after meal, before meal or with an open account. Their meals are usually served and eaten on premises, but nowadays many restaurants also offer take-out and food delivery services especially fast food restaurant in order to meet customer need and demands.

The two types of restaurants I will compare and contrast are Domino’s Pizza as a fast food restaurant and Olive Garden as a formal dining restaurant. The difference between these two types of food restaurants is that one is American pizza restaurant chain and the other is an American casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine. Both restaurants have completely different menu items. These two food restaurant chains are big corporations and scattered throughout the United States. The pricing of the food in these two restaurants will depend on what type of dish or pizza someone will pick.
When it comes to service, facilities need to go above and beyond the ordinary to add value. For example, the facility needs to provide meals. Having various options and settings adds value.
If you are interested in a management career in hospitality industry it is good to research the management position that you may be interested in. Find out what the different positions are is a good way to start your research. The two different industries within the hospitality industry are the Hotel and Lodging industry and the Restaurant industry. The different top management position in the Hotel and Lodging are: General Manager, Director of Human Resources, Director of Food and beverage, Director of Rooms Division, Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Engineering, Director of Accounting.
