Let’s take it back to Ladera Heights, California, 1991. Located in a very big and well recognized city, known as Los Angeles, is the small town only ranging in about 2.49 square miles. At the time, the Ladera population was just at a little over 6,300. In this small town, came an artist that would soon take the streets of Ladera Heights by its neck and run with it. Tyler Gregory Okonma is an american rapper and record producer who has either stole the hearts of the audience or completely shattered it. Tyler Okonma, better known by his stage name, Tyler, the creator, is a very unique individual that has caused a lot of controversy, not just in the states, but worldwide. Taking america’s young adults and teens by storm in December of 2009 with his hit, …show more content…
“yonkers” containing very crazy and explicit lyrics, we would see soon enough this would become a very noticeable pattern of Tyler’s.
Even though there has been countless criticisms on his lyrics and social media accounts, his followers have been loyal and continued to support whatever was brought to the table. Now, I am going to say, with all the research I have done and being a Tyler fan myself, that you have to be someone who doesn't take these lyrics as the first literal meaning that comes to mind. Tyler has backed this up with the lyrics from another hit song called “Sandwitches” saying, “We don't _____ make horrorcore you ____ ____, listen deeper than the music before you put it in a box”. He is referring to a genre of music that is known for its scary and horror themed lyrics and imagery. A lot of Tyler's lyrics have a different meaning behind what he is actually saying, and
are not as graphic as some would think but more of a twisted mindset for metaphors and sense of humor behind the music. Tyler backs this up with information after a previous ban from the United Kingdom saying: "They obviously did some research on these songs that they’re detaining me for," he said. "So the argument is right there! This song is written from an alter ego — I'm not like this! You could watch any interview and see my personality; see the guy I am. I wouldn’t hurt a fly." (http://theboombox.com) Tyler made a name for himself with his group of pals from back home. The unique alternative hip hop/rap collective, Odd Future, has been talked about since the group was founded in 2007. Original group members, including rappers Hodgy beats, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, and Mike G, singer, songwriter and rapper Frank Ocean, producers Left Brain, Syd Tha Kyd, Matt Martians, and other non-musical members of the group (Jasper dolphin, Taco Bennett, L-boy, and Lucas Vercetti), have all been active with the group and have even formed side groups within Odd Future. Tyler has been in full support of all of the members of the group, helping most of them produce and keeping in touch. The individuals that make up this collective all have their careers in check; All working on something either individually or within a group. Multiple side groups inside the collective include: Mellowhype, The Internet, The Jet Age of Tomorrow, EarlWolf, and Mellowhigh. It is safe to say that the members have found it’s comfort level in each other and have grown to see the potential and full concept of forming an excellent collaboration. (http://www.lamag.com/) With the upbeat energy Tyler brings during an interview, music video, or even a 7 second short vine clip, it's not hard to see that he brings more to the table then just the average L.A. rapper. Tyler says he has not limited himself to just being a musician. He enjoys hobbies such as drawing, designing furniture and clothes (with his own clothing line), and directing and producing. When asked if he considers himself a musician first and foremost, Okonma replies: “Dude, I’m everything. I’m not anything. I’m just a person who has hobbies, and is very passionate about them. I get a kick out of all of it - I love being on Photoshop and making flyers and stupid T-shirts with air balloons and donuts. But I get the same kick out of that as I do out of making beats and adding sound effects, or out of messing with syllables and saying cool little quirky things that only I get, or out of drawing out a [video] scene, going to the spot and filming it, and then going to the edit bay and adding the music and colouring it. I get a kick out of all of it.” (http://www.clashmusic.com/) Here, Tyler proves to be a creative genius. Although, we should’ve known that before he brought us the donut t-shirts or the silly designed socks. At age 7, he was removing covers from CD cases and would replace them with his very own “album covers”. At 14 years old, Okonma taught himself how to play the piano. (http://www.clashmusic.com) In conclusion, Tyler is very contrasting with today’s society. There are people like myself, who find the joy in the dark, humor based lyrics. And then there are people like the representatives for the United Kingdom and Australia, who have set to ban Tyler from the two countries for the 2009 alter-ego based lyrics. Being straightforward about his thoughts of suicide and struggling moments in life has set a standard for his fans and haters. Either you understand the complexity of harsh times through the way he is unraveling it, or you completely take it out of context. I think this is one of the things Tyler is most frustrated with. All of us have an alter-ego. The people we are, and the person we want to be. Not always what we talk about, write, draw, or express about ourselves is truly us, but a conception of how we see ourselves and the things we like. Expression is lacked with most of our generation. A generation who thinks it’s better to be socially active with others, then spiritually connected with our inner self. Tyler is an inspiration to me, and millions of others for just being him, and that’s simply all we can ask for.
Torrence Hatch (Lil Boosie) was born November 14, 1982 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was born and raised in W. Garfield St, on the south side of Baton Rouge, a neighborhood well known for drugs and violence. Boosie faced many troubles inside and outside for school as he was growing up. He then started to get very serious about basketball, he played in order to stay off of the streets, he was expected to go to college level, but then got expelled for possession of illegal drugs. Boosie had been rapping since he was 14 or 15, but never let anyone know because he didn’t think he was good enough, but after he was expelled, he began to get very serious about his music career. Unfortunately, Baton Rouge lacked a music scene, so it was difficult for him to create a contract, which resulted in a lack of exposure. But lucky for Lil Boosie, a mutual friend of Boosie and a local rapper, C-Loc, introduced the two and before Boosie knew it, he was recording his homemade raps in a p...

In comparison to other slaves that are discussed over time, Olaudah Equiano truly does lead an ‘interesting’ life. While his time as a slave was very poor there are certainly other slaves that he mentions that received far more damaging treatment than he did. In turn this inspires him to fight for the abolishment of slavery. By pointing out both negative and positive events that occurred, the treatment he received from all of his masters, the impact that religion had on his life and how abolishing slavery could benefit the future of everyone as a whole; Equiano develops a compelling argument that does help aid the battle against slavery. For Olaudah Equiano’s life journey expressed an array of cruelties that came with living the life of an
In Tyler Perry’s early life, he went through many challenges such as the indissoulable of abuse during his childhood years to attempted suicide as a child, however that did not stop him from chasing his dream of becoming a well-known film producer, director, actor, and author. Donald Trump is a successful businessman who has accomplished more than most people could ever dream of. He started in the real estate business and has his own university, appeared on a T.V. show, is a billionaire, has many golf resorts, and is the president of the United States. He is criticized for many of his comments and political views. Some of these views are him wanting to build a wall to protect the United States from illegal immigrants and drugs, wanting to replace The Affordable Care Act, and banning people from Muslim countries to keep out terrorists. Although Donald Trump is often viewed as a controversial figure, he benefitted the United States of America by improving and creating jobs, proving that non-establishment politicians can still win the presidency, and by making America safer.
A famous philosopher named Aristotle once said, "He who is unable to live in a society, or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself, must be either a beast or a god" (Moncur ). Ever since the first humans, people have sought to live and grow where other people are. This organization of people living together as a community is called a society. For the members of it, society furnishes protection, continuity, security and identity. Without a society to be a part of, man is nothing. Therefore, if a man comes into conflict with his society, he must either accept these differences or be destroyed. This nightmare comes to life in Chinua Achebe's novel Things Fall Apart, when the main character, Okonkwo, clashes with his society's beliefs. The conflict that exists between Okonkwo and his society is what ultimately leads him to his downfall.
In the beginning, the narrator obeyed everything Tyler told him to do. The narrator conformed to every aspect of society and did everything that was socially acceptable no matter how much it ate away at him inside.
Primarily, Tyler had to deal with a large amount of hardships in his own life. Instead
It has been shown that he is highly intelligent, easily trusted, great at building relationships, and very adventurous. But, he is very dangerous, self-destructive, and may not be entirely sane. However, the fact cannot be denied that Tyler’s personality has many faces, like that of a well-cut jewel. Throughout the story Tyler can be seen as almost sociopathic, having the façade of a highly intelligent man with his almost catalytic personality only open behind the scenes of normal society. As the story is read, we can see that the character of Tyler Durden was carefully constructed by the author, thus allowing him to truly become what this story is all about:
