Tyler Oakley Motivation

Would you have the courage to stand up for a cause that is discriminated against? Probably not; yet Tyler Oakley does. At 25 years old, Tyler is an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, Tyler started his career as a professional YouTuber in 2008. Tyler first became an activist in 2009, after one of his videos on The Trevor Project featured on the front page of YouTube. Now, in 2015, Tyler is on the board of directors at Trevor, which is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention group in the nation. Teen activists are inspired by different experiences because they can draw inspiration from hardships, people in need, and most if all, personal experiences.
Primarily, Tyler had to deal with a large amount of hardships in his own life. Instead

of spending his birthday with family or friends, Tyler Oakley spends it fundraising on Prizeo.com/TylerOakley.com. Tyler found himself discriminated by certain people because of his sexuality. Tyler stated in an interview once, “Everyday I hear from young people all around the world who are going through their own challenging moments in life.” Even though Tyler dealt with a lot of hardships, he doesn’t give up, and he uses it for his own inspiration.
Furthermore, Tyler helps and supports people in need. Tyler supports crisis intervention and suicide prevention in the LGBTQ community through the Trevor Project, which is the leading organization in the nation for this cause. Tyler puts all of his effort into helping all of his fans and subscribers, and the ones who he cannot help, he directs to The Trevor Project. He is also fighting for LGBTQ rights, and has won several awards because of this. Tyler puts all he can into supporting the people who need it.
Most importantly, Tyler Oakley uses personal experiences to inspire him. Tyler is openly gay. Tyler hasn’t only come out for himself, as he has supported fellow YouTubers and friends in coming out. One of these YouTubers is Troye Sivan, and Tyler helped him to be comfortable with coming out. Another is Connor Franta, who came out to Tyler on his couch at midnight, before almost all of his other friends, and Tyler talked to him and supported him. Tyler uses his own life experiences to inspire him.
Teen activists are inspired by different things such as difficulties, strangers who are in need of support, and most importantly, their own background. Tyler Oakley is a brave LGBTQ advocate. He helps everyone he can. Tyler draws inspiration from his own experiences. Tyler Oakley takes what inspires him, and uses it to fuel him, and push him to never stop fighting for his cause.
