It was a dark and gloomy afternoon. It was raining and there was a young man who was making his way downtown to do some shopping. However, the man was very poor, and couldn’t afford to shop at the many stores he walked past.
The young man decided to walk into a thrift shop. However, this thrift store was one that no one went to, mainly because of the frightening old woman who ran the store. The old woman had a hunched back, and one brown glass eye, her other being a pale blue colour.
The store was very dark. Everything seemed to be really organized, but there was dust everywhere. As the young man walked through the shop, he heard the floors creak with every step he took.
He stopped when he noticed a book that seemed clearly out of place. The book was red, and had the word “Diary” imprinted on its cover in a golden colour. The man reached out to grab the book. “May I help you?” The old woman chirped. The man jumped when hearing this. “U-um, I just wanted to buy this book,” he replied.
“Oh yes! This is a very special book. Write your wishes in this book and they might just come true. Always remember that you can’t wish for eternal life, or write the wishes of others.” She said.
The man had no idea what that meant, he was only concerned on getting the book and leaving, since the old woman was frightening him. Later that night when he was in his room, he began to write a story about a Hero named Tye.
This hero had supernatural powers, as long as he was smart enough to use them. Tye had the powers of super strength, and super speed. He was also able to use his spectacular ray vision to zap criminals with his eyes!
The next day when the man woke up, he had become the superhero he had written about. The young man was now Tye. ...

Tye then flew in through the window he had broken out of just hours before. Modly was speechless. She had no idea how to react. “You came back! Tye, I’m really sorry…” She sobbed.
“Modly I don’t know what had come over you, but…” he was interrupted when Modly ran up to him and kissed him. It was in that moment everything was back to normal. Tye had his diary and was able to use his powers. He was no longer irresponsible, and Modly was good once again.
Modly and Tye decided to get married and become a superhero Team, since Modly was smart she was able to coach Tye, and he was able to find out about his other powers. Modly was now happy because she felt important as sidekick and wife of a superhero.

Junior sometimes had to go to bed hungry, but that wasn’t the worst thing about being in poverty. He made a diary entry stating, “Poverty= empty refrigerator+empty stomach. And sure sometimes my family misses a meal…and hey, in a weird way, being hungry makes food taste better (8).” This really puts the diary reader in his shoes about how many times he had to go without food and starve while trying to go to sleep, simply because his family couldn’t afford it. But to Junior, being hungry wasn’t necessarily that bad. What he felt was the worst thing about his poverty was that there was no money to save his beloved animal Oscar. Oscar became really ill and Junior wanted to take the animal to the doctor, but the family couldn’t afford it. When it came down to it, his father had to put the dog out of misery, and decided to shoot him. Visualizing someone having to shoot your best animal friend is heart wrenching. Most people have been in Juniors shoes where they have a sick animal, however they never imagine having to shoot it. This comparison of being hungry and losing an animal, shows Junior’s great strength at a young age about going through poverty, and sometimes even hope...

On a very sunny day Chris was walking down on his block. He keeps walking until he said a green paper once he saw closely and he saw an hundreds dollars in the floor. While he was looking at it he was watching around because he though some one was seeing him and there was a man but he didn’t see him. He didn’t now what to do with it. That was his lucky day because he found the hundreds dollars. He was worried because he now’s that someone seen him.
The family’s poverty (which is partially due to the father’s absence) makes their future seem hopeless. The family lives in a poor, rural area, which was typical of black persons of their time. The family is crowded into a small, shabby home, so they must share rooms and beds. The family’s clothes are quite shabby too, for when James sees a mannequin in a store with new brown shoes, he looks at his own old shoes and thinks, “You wait till Summer…” The family does not even have enough money for some of life’s other necessities, such as food and medical care. For example, they eat bread and syrup every day for breakfast; and as James’ younger brother, Ty, said, “I’m getting tired of this old syrup. I want me some bacon sometime.” Beans are another bland food that J...
Medea’s true love abandon her and her sons. Medea knows that Jason no longer loves her and also believes he no longer loves his sons. This true love that she had for her husband now turns to hate. Jason gives her reasons for his actions but they certainly do not qualify as legitimate excuses. She tells Jason that he should have brought up his criticisms of her while they were still married. This is certainly something I have been through and how many others that have been in the same situation. This will turn out to be that enemy of lack of communication.
The next character introduced is the narrator. He is both complex and interesting. He thinks he is not crazy. As he goes out of his way to prove that his is not insane, he does the exact opposite. His relationship with the old man is unknown. However, he does say he loves the old man. “I loved the old man.” (Poe 1).
She started to walk in the same direction as the man when she realized what she was doing is dangerous and could end up really bad. “I have college to look forward to I can’t do this” she thought aloud. She walked onto her front porch and into her house.Kaylee then laid in her bed staring at the ceiling waiting to fall asleep. Little did she know this man would reappear in her life very
It was late and the house was silent. Tom came home from work late a lot, so the silence was expected. By this time, Marie was in bed and his dinner, the evening newspaper, and the mail were waiting for him on the table. Tom closed the door and walked down the short hall to the kitchen. Everything was set on the table. He quickly looked through the mail and went over to the bin to throw an unwanted advertisement away. Tom noticed a crumpled piece of his wife’s stationary inside. He picked it up and opened it.
