The two toed sloth or Choloepus didactylus, belongs to the Mammalia class and can turn its head two-hundred and seventy degrees. That almost the way around! There are many more facts of the fascinating creature, the sloth. Sloths are very cool animals that have many structures with different functions for them. A structure is a part of an animal's body, and a function is what the structure does. One of the structures is the sloths sharp teeth they allow the sloth to chew sticks and twigs they eat. Another structure is brown and green fur. Their fur allows them to camouflage and be hidden from predators. Also another structure is their big claws that the use when threatened by an predators when on the ground. Biotic factors are living things
that either have a positive or negative effect on an animal. Three biotic factors of a sloth are, trees. Trees help sloths hide from predators. A second biotic factor are jaguars and pumas, which are predators of the soth and could harm it. The last one is, leaves and fruit from any tree, sloths eat leaves and fruit, and that helps them live. Abiotic factors are nonliving things that have an effect on an animal. Three abiotic factors that affect the sloth are, twigs which they eat. Other abiotic factor is water. They use to swim to a new tree when the forest floods. The last one is dirt, trees grow on dirt and sloths need trees to live in, and trees have their food, fruits. In conclusion, I learned that the sloth can turn its head two-hundred degrees, and I also learned that it is important to protect the sloth because is we didn't than junglers would grow rapidly because sloths eat twigs, leaves and fruit that grow in the jungle. The sloth is interesting because even though it is slow it can do amazing things.

Ceratopsians and Pachycephalosaurs are closely related in their characteristics. Ceratopsians processed a saddle-shaped boney frill that extended from the skull to the neck and typically had horns over the nose and eyes. The most popular was the triceratops, which could reach over 26 feet and weigh in excess of twelve metric tons. Their frills served as two major functions. It protected the vulnerable neck from being harmed. The second major function that the frill provided was due to the fact that the frill contained a network of blood vessels on its underside, which were used as a means to get rid of excess heat. The Pachycephalosaurs were considered to be bipedal. They were also found to have thick skulls, flattened bodies, and tail that were covered in an array of body rods. Pachycephalosaurs were thought to have been more than fifteen feet long and processed a skull that was surrounded by a rounded dome of solid bone. It was thought that they used their heads in combat or mating contests, but that was disproved fairly recently, which I will discuss later in the paper. Both Ceratopsians and Pachycephalosaurs were “bird-hipped” and both of these suborders contained a backwards pubic bone. Both were Marginocephilia, or “fringed heads”, which is one of three clads under the Orinthiscia order. They were also herbivore dinosaurs that inherited their fringe at the back of the skull from earlier ancestors.(2) Their classi...
Origin - The Maine Coon is a natural breed, however currently the actual origin of the Main Coon is still underway. The "myth" of the Maine Coon coming about from the mating of raccoon and domestic cat is amongst the most popular. Although this is genetically and scientifically impossible to achieve, it first came about to be believed due to its unique brown raccoon-like markings and big bushy tail. "Maine Shags" were the name given to those that had markings any other color besides the brown coat. Theory of Maine Coons coming about from Viking's bringing these animals over into North America has been one of many popular theories. However, the most common theory is that of Marie Antoinette. Many believe when she tried to escape to North America, but did not succeed, she had left her long-haired cat on board, which then came to North America and bred
The sabertooth cat, also known by its scientific name Smilodon Fatalis, is considered a true form fossil. A fossil is considered a true form fossil when scientists recover fossils of the actual animal or animal part. These bones were oftentimes subjected to physical processes while still on the surface. These processes include heat, cold, wind and rain.
The Brazilian Three Toed Sloth is the largest of the four species of sloths. They are called three toed because they have three digits on their arm. They are also known as the Maned Sloth. The Maned sloth has black fur that grows longer than the rest of the fur. Its mane starts from the nape of its neck and then runs down to its shoulders. This gives the sloth a mane like appearance. The Maned Sloth’s scientific name is Bradypus torquatus and they are in the Class Mammalia, Order Pilosa, and Family Bradypodidae. The sloth is only found in the coastal Brazilian Atlantic rain forest within the states of Bahia, Espirito Santo, and Rio de Janeiro. The sloths spend almost their entire lives high up in the rain forests tree’s canopy where most of the sunlight is. They are the funniest, cutest, and scariest animals in the world (in my opinion of course)! Their body shape is weird yet fascinating. They have a short torso, pudgy tail, long lanky arms with super long nails, and an extremely roundish head with a flat face which make them, super funny! They also have long ruffled fur, which feels hard. The fur is somewhat a grayish-brownish color that is stained green from algae being grown on them.
If you were to live during the tertiary period, this would be one of the things you would often see. All of the mammals that existed during that time period were terrestrial. They all were land dwelling mammals. Before J. G. M. Thewissen and colleagues’ discovery in Pakistan, many scientists believed, since the constant new discoveries twenty years ago, in what the numerous fossils from North America, Pakistan, and Egypt have revealed, “…these early cetaceans had mobile elbows and external hind limbs with articulated knees. However, they were fully aquatic, except for Ambulocetus, which was amphibious-much like sea lions” (Walking with Whales).
2. Fossils of its pelvis, legs, and feet indicate that it was bipedal, like humans.
Hippopotami belong to a group of animals called artiodactyls. This group of animals, which includes deer, camels, sheep, pigs, and cows, are “named for the even number of fingers and toes...
Norwegian Forest cats are a very special breed of cats. At one point in history they almost went extinct, but they made a great comeback. Norwegian Forest cats originated in Europe and became mousers on the Vikings’ ships, and at that time, they had very short hair. They traveled by ship to Norway where they got their name and adapted to the harsh climate and grew longer fur. After Norway, the Wegies travel to other parts of the world.
Rattus Norvegicus is native to northern China but found its way to Eastern Europe by the early 18th century. When they lived in Asia, they used to be found in the forest and bushy areas, but now are found in sewers, garbage dumps, and basements.
Redfoot tortoises native habitat is a range through South America. They live in Argentina and Panama. they will inhabit temperate forest, live in grasslands and Savannas in South America. They’ve been seen on the Caribbean islands of Barbados and Trinidad. They will live in forest, rainforest, and dry forest all throughout a range down in South America.
A strange thing which these animals have is a coat armor, unique among other animals. They have bony plate armor on the outside of their bodies'. Each species has a different pattern for every little plate they carry. They all are great burrowers. They sink a hole with them in it as one approaches.
Cats are swift hunters that love the taste of meat. Persian cats are one of the several breeds of cats that are adored by cat lovers all over the world. A healthy cat will live to be an average twelve to fifteen years. One reason why people might love Persian cats is for their unique features that distinguish them from other cats.
From my old American Girl dolls to the fort in the back woods behind my childhood house, I was able to play with those simple objects and be completely entertained. My imagination when I was a child surpassed any form of creativity that I have in my young adulthood. The Velveteen Rabbit depicts a story about a child's imaginative capacity throughout his life and the ability for individuals to bring inanimate objects into reality. In my paper I will be discussing how the boy was able to make the toy rabbit real by analyzing existence in terms of one's surroundings as described in Kristen Jacobson's article and overall terms of existence as a whole. How are children able to give human characteristics to their favorite toys?
