Tuition fees should be scrapped

In Scotland we have a company called SAAS; SAAS is an agency group within the Scottish Government that helps Scottish students by paying their tuition fees. SAAS stands for Student Awards Agency Scotland. This is the same in other countries like Germany who have their “universities becoming state-funded”. Meanwhile England is still making their students pay tuition fees while the government is talking about maybe raising the tuition fees. Students are already in a lot of debt by the time they have finished university. Don’t you think we should cut them some slack?

You may already know this but according to an article on the BBC by Sean Coughlan “Norway and Turkey do not charge fees for full-time students”. They do this as if a student is full-time they probably only have a part-time job and the money from that job is only enough to pay for their flat and buy food. This is ridiculous that other students are charged when places aboard are not charging any fees. I looked at some statistics that show that students that are part-time have to pay for their tuitions too but don’t get it paid for them. The universities over there know that students don’t have much money and they will need it to pay for accommodation and food for the year which as I said before around £8000 a year just for the accommodation and food. Universities in the UK should do the same thing and lower or stop tuition fees. I do get that the fees go into the school fund but if the government paid it for students wouldn’t the money still got into the school? It shouldn’t require money if you want to further your education level yet we still charge a horrendous amount for a year at the ‘best schools’.
