When people travel to a destination, they sure have some motivation to motivate them to make the decision. ‘Motivation’ is the key term that will make the tourist to consider the reason to travel around. During the decision making process, people will consider some of the reasons before they confirm travel to a destination. The research that has conducted in The Netherland found out a remarkably high propensity to travel, 70% of the populations are taking one holiday per year and 24% was taking two holidays per year for holiday. 46). Motivation directly influences the overall assessment of a tourism activity (Ryan, 2002b) and sets the stage for forming people’s goals (Mansfeld, 2000). As it is reflected in both travel choice and travel behaviour, it influences the tourists’ expectations towards a destination, which in turn determine the perception of their experience of the destination. Motivation is therefore a determinant of satisfaction (Gnoth, 1997). This is also reiterated by Garcia-Mas and Garcia-Mas (2005) pinpointing that motivation exists when a person is able to create an impulse that leads to a need, which in turn creates a feeling of satisfaction until the created need has been satisfied. In tourism, travel needs and motivations reinforce the first expectations of a tourism activity and can even influence its final outcome (Quinlan Cutler & Carmichael,

The word “travel” invokes images of exotic cultures and foreign destinations. The allure of travel comes from encountering the unknown and experiencing something completely new, be it new cultures or activities. Travel helps us temporarily live in a new “reality” that is different than our own. During the last fifty years, the demand for first world commodities in third world locations increased, the industry transitioned from being about culture shock to more about being pampered abroad. What used to be exploratory tourism is now recreational tourism. Tourist destinations in third world countries offer five-star resorts and spas on pristine white-sand beaches rather than focus on cultural notes. The essential question is: Does modern tourism closely represent reality? Does the industry, in order to attract more visitors, hide the unappealing parts of reality and only present the good things? This paper will explore what practices the tourism industry employs to make a place more appealing to visit, their repercussions on local culture and order, the reality of the situation, and the changing tastes of foreign tourists for more luxuries rather than experiences.
Tourism is an important and intricate element to society. It affects economical, social, cultural and environmental elements. Tourism can be argued to have a negative impact on the environment and decrease our already depleting resources, but tourism can also be argued to be a major contributor to strengthening economies, spread cultural traditions and improve people’s lives. Tourism
The primary challenges facing ecotourism management is to achieve a well-balanced progress to proceed towards a profitable and ecologically sustainable industry. For many countries and regions, tourism is seen as one of the major opportunities readily available to for local development, employment and revenue generation. In 2013, Malaysia registered 25.72 million tourist arrivals, which placed Malaysia as the 9th most visited country in the world (ITO,2014). An intense tourism, particularly the ones that happen near fragile forest ecology environment needs to be regulated and the process of balancing between built environment and biodiversity must be studied.

According to the theory of expectancy, consumers contribute to a large part in establishing the path of the motivation based on the identified expectation. Therefore, the consumer behaviour of a tourist can be developed based on the identified expectation as well as the needs from this perspective. The needs or highlighted desires for an adventure or exploring new cultures are the basis of developing a motivational model (Holloway, 2009). The fundamental aspect towards arousing the morale of tourists involves identifying the needs and expectations. From this perspective, a definite process or avenue of satisfaction is established reflecting on the needs as well as the typology of the customers. Capacity to reflect on the needs of tourists from different part of the globe establishes an agitation to travel, get away from home or routine activities. This entails the experiences as well as the ability to offer satisfaction in relation to needs as well as
