Killing the 900 pound bear on an Alaska bowhunting adventure or the wild hog destroying farm country depends on having the right bow to make a precise shot. Even if adventures do not proceed any further than the local archery range, it is imperative to have the right bow and arrows. A great place to begin shooting is with the Tomkat from BowTech.
Carbon Tomkat bows are stealthy, nimble, effortlessly graceful and full of lethal power. Starting in 2006, BowTech offered this bow with a full binary cam system that never goes out of synchronization. Therefore, archers can be assured of an accurate, powerful and efficient shot regardless of what is in their line of sight. Perfect synchronization also makes this compound bow almost noiseless while allowing archers to feel very little shock.
Tomkat bows measure about 31 inches from axel to axel on most models making it easy for the archer to carry it all day. The bow weighs just under four pounds. Pre-2004 versions had a 9.125 inch brace height while later models offered a 8.5 inch brace height. Both are ideal for delivering arrows at the right speed while providing maximum forgiveness ensuring the archer hits the bullseye or that the big game does not get away.

This Bowtech model generally offers draw weights between 40 and 70 lbs so that everyone achieves greater arrow speed and flatter trajectories allowing their arrow to fly through the wind effortlessly regardless of the weight that the archer can draw. Further assisting archers, Tomkat bows offer adjustable let-off varying from 65 to 80 %. Be aware, however, that some mods are slightly different depending on the production
Long distance weapons were essential to European combat. The main long distance weapons used by Europeans during that time were the longbow and the crossbow. Each form of weaponry had its unique advantages and their pejorative. The long bow (shown in figure 1) was the original form of distance weapons. The term ‘bow’ means to be made from wood, iron or steel. The Welsh, who inhabited England, were the first people to use longbows. Longbows were 6-7 feet long and had a range of 250 yards, and still had the ability to pierce a knight’s armor (Byam 12). A well trained archer could shot 10- 12 arrows in a single minute. Despite these pro’s the longbow had a lot of disadvantages as well. One draw back was only skilled archers, who were costly to train, could use a longbow. Another disadvantage was it didn’t have a ready loaded arrow (Edge 34). The crossbow (shown in figure 2) on the other had been emphatically different. The crossbow had a span of 2-3 feet and could kill a knight on horseback with one shot, because of good aim (Byam 30). Crossbows had ready loaded projectiles, while the longbow didn’t and the crossbow could be used by anyone since it didn’t require any skill. The crossbow did have a down side though, it had slow reloaded because of a crank and it was expensive. Crossbows were also used for other thi...

Among the necessities or near-necessities were P-38 can openers, pocket knives, heat tabs… …and two or three canteens of water. Together, these items weighed between 12 and 18 pounds. Once a child — or an adult who has never hunted before — has been introduced to the outdoors, what happens next? According to Cook, there’s a real lack of long-term mentoring going on that will get both adults and youth past the beginning stages of hunting.
I have been bow hunting since I was about 8 years old. I am going to go over the basic steps and necessary equipment needed to start becoming a successful bow hunter. Some of the key things you will need during this are a decent set of camouflage, a compound hunting bow and a place to hunt. Despite the time it takes to be successful; bow hunting can be very rewarding.
The favored bow was the small rifle, which had a lot of advantages over the larger ones. This bow could be carried while loaded and ready to fire. This was not possible with a longbow. The crossbow also required less skill and practice to use effectively while the longbow required constant practice and exercise so the soldiers could be strong enough to hold the string back. And even though the longbow was more work and required more skill the crossbow still had a lot more power and accuracy and worked more effectively than the longbow.
Many people have misconceptions about hunting. One such misconception is that hunting is easy and any person can go sit in the woods and wait for an animal to cross the hunter’s path. However, people who believe this are sorely mistaken. Hunting is not just sitting in the woods with a rifle; there are many other aspects that must be considered. An individual must have all preparations complete, purchase or gather the equipment needed, and know what to listen for while in the woods.

Throughout history paddling has been characterized by the various situational opportunities presented in that day, in time. Recreation, Transportation, Traveling, Competition, Exercise, and Fishing are just some of the ways paddling has been seen throughout history. Along with the activities that go on with paddling, different types of canoes and kayaks had to be made to keep up-to-date with these activities evolvement. Beginning more traditional with a dugout canoe and ending more advanced with the numerous racing canoes, our world has in fact grown to new developments. Kayaks on the other hand are similar in the way that they have progressed through history, however, the boats are all based on the idea of measurements,
Complex technical studies in recent times have shown that one can split a wooden arrow with another, but that it will become stuck in the first shaft, seems nearly impossible. Nowadays, this would be an ‘honor’ more likely for archers who are using tubular shafts made of aluminum or carbon.

First, the bows shape has changed greatly throughout the years. When the bow was first thought of the shape of the bow was a solid piece of wood with a string attached to it. These bows would not shoot too far. These were made from almost all types of wood. They were whittled down with knives in early egypt. These bows were called self bows and they were almost completely straight until they were strung. The longbow was also a big bow that helped along with the shape of the bow.
