Singh 2 There have been many inventions throughout the centuries that benefit mankind in terms of comfort, speed, efficiency, and reliability. Whether it is the creation of wood and stone weapons in the Stone Age or a device that transmits thoughts to other people in the future, inventions are made to serve people. One man in particular, Thomas Edison, revolutionized the world we live in with his many inventions. Through his success and failures, Edison was able to successfully create inventions to better the human race. By working with DC current, creating multiple inventions, and obtaining patents, Thomas Edison can be seen as the greatest inventor in the world. Thomas Edison is considered the greatest inventor of all time with over 1000 patents to his name. Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio and had a lab in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Edison’s work here was very productive and promising; he was able to invent something minor in ten days and something major every six months. Among his 1000 plus patents are some very interesting inventions such as the phonograph, electric vote recorder, motion pictures, electric pen, carbon telephone, and universal stock printer.
