People today have been over powered with 21st Century technology. Now-a-days people don’t have enough energy just because of the new technology. Let’s go back in time and think about eye-catching inventions in the old times and how it changed the world and everyday life. The telephone! Imagine, a world without smartphones but only speed-dial phones. Yes, those are the kinds of phones that are very popular long ago but the question is “How does the new invention change our daily lives?” For one thing, it would take you about 3-5 minutes just to make a phone call an plus, it is not at all portable. Mainly, telephones back then are way different from telephones today.

top of things that have already been made. For instance in “Source A” in paragraph 7, it states “ open architectures allow others to build more easily on top of existing ideas.” By stating this proves that long ago there was an old telephone known as the speed dial phone that was very popular. So many inventors connect their ideas with the existing products and invent something new and better which leads to the things we have now. The telephone changed our lives because people now making a call only takes 20 seconds. So as you have read before, making calls with the old phones takes about 5 minutes. Which as you can start to see that inventors build their ideas on top of existing ideas so in this case, making the calls’ time period shorter. In addition, inventing something better is something that you can’t do alone. So to build it it takes many inventors gathering together. In the text in paragraph 16, it states “there are some things we do better together. This evidence clearly shows that building something take a lot of inventors and time just like telephones that changed people’s lives takes a lot of people working together. Creativity is something everybody can do.
But Innovative is something most people can do. Making a telephone takes both creativity and innovative. According to “Source B,”in paragraph 2 the author states “Creativity is a function of knowledge, curiosity, imagination and evaluation.” By stating this means that when inventing something better than others most inventors had a vision which leads to the second evidence. Also in source b the author stated “that discovery may also spur an innovative idea of how to apply it.” This means, with the inventor’s vision or discovery, the can use it on their invention which is supposed to be something better than the old one. The telephone or any other invention takes an inventor to have a vision. So that vision leads to inventing something better that even more changed people’s lives. For instance, now with the telephone, people can call other people that is on the other side of the world. So the old telephones are like 2 cans and a long string attached to it. With the inventor’s vision, it made something better from going something like cans and a string to a …show more content…
smartphone. Videos to me are the most helpful because you get to see the whole picture.
Thomas Edison is also an inventor. He invented a lightbulb that banished the darkness. In the video it shows that Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb which was the first lightbulb. This shows that Thomas Edison invented something that changed the world by banishing the darkness, so just like the first telephone and the even better telephones changed the world by banishing the silence because people can now talk for hours without going anywhere. Also in the video, Thomas Edison invented something that not only changed the world but benefited all. This proves that the lightbulb is a product that lets everybody see in the dark. So now inventors try to invent something that would change the world and also benefits
everybody. In conclusion, with the telephone people can talk for hours, make the calling’s time period shorter and of course something that benefits everybody. People try to invent something that could change the world and make everything existing better like how the telephone used to be and how it is today. Every single 21st century technology is better and many inventors still try to make it even better. So to summarize, many people that are inventing try to make their product eye-catching, and that it is better than the technology before.
Long ago, Thomas Edison lived, but today remembered by making lives better. When everyone else gave
The light bulb is the way we see in the dark, the way we find our way, the way we know when to go at a stoplight. How did Thomas Edison achieve this invention? Knowledge. Knowledge of electricity and the needs of those around him. In The Great Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan claims that she wants her daughter to be “a beautiful little fool.” In other words Daisy is saying that ignorance is bliss. Some others believe that knowledge is power. The advancement from candles to light bulbs changed the culture entirely. People could easily do the work they needed to after sunset, and it even led to more inventions. We need knowledge to advance, and for this reason powerful knowledge is more valid than blissful ignorance.
Now you’re in a pickle! What do you do your invention is destroyed? There are some invention that were purposefully designed are failures, and other inventions became successful on accident. Inventors will try to invent something they are thinking about, but when they do it becomes a failure. There are inventors that do not know what they want to invent, but when they invent something they do not know what it is used for but it will become a success. What can an inventors do to ensure success?
The Myths of Innovation by Scott Berkun completely changed the way I view creativity. I noticed that we all have creativity inside of us; it is by means of expressing our deepest desires and ideas that we display our creativity to others. Burkun destroys myth after myth about innovation, which had me ready to start inventing my first million dollar idea! Berkun outlines ways to tap into innovation and pulls from history to guide us into the future. His simple and common prose gave me courage to tackle the tough problems. I now feel as though I have a firm grasp on what it means to be an effective creator.
Thomas Alva Edison is one of the world’s most famous inventors. Thomas Edison was an extraordinary man who had many successful inventions in his lifetime. Edison had obtained over a 1,000 United States Patents in areas that included telegraphy, phonography, lighting and photography (Adkins 8). Some of his most important inventions were the light bulb, telephone, movie projector and the phonograph. Some of his inventions also included improvements of other devices. His inventions set the road for great advancements in modern technology.
“Electricity is considered a very efficient way of energy consumption in part because it is weightless as well as easy to distribute. Electricity is used without creating loss and without creating pollution. Other forms of energy experience loss, pollution or both, such as fossil fuels. At the point where electricity generates, it is a renewable form of energy as well as a clean one. Without electricity, humans would be able to enjoy next to no modern conveniences” (Iec.ch). Electricity is a clean, efficient and renewable source of energy and without the invention of it who knows how bad our environment would would be. Lastly is the innovation of the Telephone. Do you like sending letters? Chances are you don’t and you have the telephone to thank for that. Now instead of sending a letter, and waiting for them to respond a two months later you can just call them. “The telephone supports business operation, socialization and global interaction by offering a way for business to communicate without delays between messages. The invention of the telephone offered an instantaneous form of communication that spawned other valuable communication tools, such as the Internet and cellular phones.
I will be talking about what Thomas Edison invented. He invented a lot, but I will only be talking about the light bulb. The light bulb was a very brilliant idea for a very brilliant man. He is also one of the most famous inventors in the world. Well, you now know what I will be talking about so it is time to get into detail.
Thomas (Alva) Edison was one of America’s most important and famous inventors. Edison was born into a time and place where there wasn’t much technological advancements. His inventions helped a lot of things quickly change in the world. His inventions contributed to many inventions today such as the night light, movies, telephones, and records and CDs.
Thomas Edison is widely regarded as one of the most influential inventors and innovators of the Twentieth Century. Edison’s efforts ushered in a new era of technology; a world in which electricity would be harnessed and made to bow before man’s will. Walter Lippman wrote, “It is impossible to measure the importance of Edison by adding up the specific inventions with which his name is associated” (qtd. in Baldwin 409). Edison’s decades long career was a synergistic melding of his success as an inventor and his prowess as a promoter and businessman. He exemplified the ideals of intelligence married to hard work and perseverance. He forever changed the landscape of American invention and the limits of technological change (Baldwin 409).
Many of people came to see the showcase of the phonograph. In 1878, Thomas Edison starts expanding his inventions factory, and also builds a shopping store behind the laboratory. So he could sell his inventions to the public. Later Thomas Edison starts continuous to his other inventions. He starts to investigation how to create a light bulb that can stay longer time. Before Thomas Edison start making the light bulb, there have other inventor was working on it, but no one can let the light bulb work longer. Eventually, on October 21, 1879, Thomas Edison’s light bulbs can continuous work forty hours. Thomas Edison and his team try to use the incandescent light bulb in the laboratory and his home. In 1880, Thomas Edison believes the incandescent bulbs can able to produce and sell it to the public. Also he builds the Edison Electric Light Company to find way to use electricity to light the incandescent bulbs. In 1882, Thomas Edison uses his incandescent bulb in all the office building and houses on the Pearl Street. Many people came to the Pearl Street see the all of the building and houses is light with electricity. This became a great achievement in Thomas Edison’s life. Also Thomas Edison became a rich and famous people. Many of business and investors want to invest Thomas Edison’s
...r phones update our minds suffer another loss. People are slowly losing their independence to think for themselves and the ability to rely on their own intelligence instead of a computer`s. When this happens, it can endanger the proper development of the personality and hamper the social relationships needed for life together in society. The more we succumb towards technology, the less personality we are capable of retaining. It`s come to the point that the smaller our devices get, the smaller our brains get as well. Technology has vastly improved over just a short amount of time, and societies` dependence on it is strengthened more and more with every day that passes. Yes, it makes life "easier", but the easy way out isn`t always the best way. People don`t just depend on their technology for help anymore. It has come to the point where they depend on it to survive.
Thomas Edison was another intelligent scientist that used the findings of Ben Franklin to invent a contraption called the light bulb. At the time of Edison?s findings, there was only gas and cand...
The 21st century has seen us evolve further and create more, we’ve seen new inventions be created, and old inventions be updated. Our lives have changed dramatically in the last 20 years and we continue to evolve and become more technologically advanced. Today majority of Australia’s population have smartphones in their pockets, majority of us have connection to the internet 24/7, and we have a house to call home, a comfortable bed to sleep on, a car to drive or public transport available for us to use and appliances to cook with. We have electricity, its everywhere, it’s all around us, it powers the lights in your home, the power operating your phone, in the television you watch and the alarm you snooze each morning, all of which most of us take for granted. Many of us expect to have all of this daily whilst back in the 1500’s nothing like this existed, as far as they knew it was all impossible. So let’s think about this, what was life like form the 1500-1800 compared to now, dating back 5 centuries let us see what daily life is like comparing it to today.
Light bulb is one of the most influential inventions in the word. It makes us work more productive at night and helps us enjoy more activities at night. It significantly change people lives all over the world. The born of light bulb also helped us by making more inventions that related to light, such as phones, televisions, and computes. By using light bulb, we actually reduced the probability of having fire accidents because if we don’t have light bulb, we will use candles instead which can cause fire easily. There are a lot more benefits we get from light bulb, and all of these are credited to Thomas Alva Edison.
However, due to all these facilities people no longer need to meet in person as much, and interpersonal relationships are suffering worldwide because people are communicating through a small handheld device. Lots of people have Smartphones and they use them almost semi-continuously, including in public settings when they could be making new friends, finding new lovers, and talking/interacting with their current friends. When technology solves one of our problems, we keep immediately coming up with new, larger problems, no technology will ever be able to satisfy our constantly new needs. However, if we allow technology to make our life easier, and focus more on the quality, rather than the quantity of life, and also learn how to use technology to our greatest advantage, such as how to use it to influence others, we can all greatly benefit. For example, the invention of the car allowed us to save time, when compared to walking.
